Jacqueline Larocco Tom Ford probably had no idea he was destined for fashion when he enrolled as an Art History major at New York University. He soon realized he was meant to go after something greater, and dropped out of NYU after only a year. After pursuing a short commercial acting career and studying interior architecture at Parsons New School of Design he finally landed an internship at ChloÊ’s in Paris. so6ix.com | MARCH 2013

Ford has ventured back into the film industry, this time as a director. "With fashion, I feel that I've done it," he said. "That doesn't mean that I couldn't do it more and I couldn't do it better, that I couldn't do it longer. But I feel like I've been very successful at it. But I do feel that perhaps I should challenge myself in a new way." Nobody doubted that Ford could challenge himself and be successful with directing. How monumental was his work? Gucci hired four people to replace him when he left. He may not be contributing to the fashion world on a daily basis anymore, but he does not really have to. His fashion ideals are timeless.

Add a belt for a bit of distraction or a bold necklace to keep the eye from getting overwhelmed with pattern. Just like with any other outfit, accessories are the final touch for pulling together a look. Experimentation is the best way to figure out what look works best for you and your wardrobe. MARCH 2013 BY

if you know that you are not going to be able to keep them. Some lucky opportunity or gesture of gratitude from someone warms your heart after the 15th.
ARIES (MARCH 21 - APRIL 19) You could be angry between the 3rd and the 8th. Do not allow others rile you up. Keeping the peace is the best course of action. Your beliefs will hold you in good stead between the 13th and the 15th. Don't allow others to persuade you to think otherwise. Contracts, travels and other exciting events occupy your attention after the 20th. You could again be obsessive after the 26th and need to know where to draw the line.
TAURUS (APRIL 20 - MAY 20) You could be confused about a relationship this month. Seek assistance if you can't make a clear decision. People could have a hidden agenda and between the 12th and 30th of March you need to read between the lines. You must also clearly and honestly express yourself if you are to avoid negative patterns in your most personal affairs.
GEMINI (MAY 21 - JUNE 20) Try to keep a cool head when dealing with friends who are antagonistic. You may be reactive especially after the 8th. You'll be more socially active but could spread yourself thin. Make sure you have a back up plan and don't make too many promises to too many people especially 44
so6ix.com | MARCH 2013
CANCER (JUNE 21 - JULY 22) You probably have itchy feet this month and with the Sun, Venus and Neptune all transiting the zone of long distance journeys along with Mars and Mercury there’s every chance that you will at least make plans to get away. Between the 12th and the 15th there will be communication with people from afar but family concerns may delay these plans a little longer.
LEO (JULY 23 - AUGUST 22) You need to sort out your finances and in particular savings and long-term security issues. The new moon this month has a lot to say about how you negotiate shared resources with your partner, friends or business associates. Be careful if you are getting yourself involved in legal contracts. Seek professional advice.
VIRGO (AUGUST 23 - SEPTEMBER 22) Money and love seem to be connected this month. Issues of control may make it difficult for your ego to cope with someone else calling the shots, particularly if you don't feel as though they are up to the task. The new moon this month, after
S AT I R E
PISCES
(FEBRUARY 19 - MARCH 20) This is an extraordinarily intense month with six planets impacting upon your personal life. You need to take control and prioritize your activities or you may find yourself simply chasing your tail to no avail. There are excellent opportunities for work after the 18th. Put your best foot forward and don’t be afraid to attend interviews. Try not to be too obsessive about your relationships on the 31st. You may be imagining more than is there.
the 10th, herald a new beginning of sorts and you will be excited about showing just how capable you are taking the reins of control yourself.
LIBRA (SEPTEMBER 23 - OCTOBER 22) The focus this month is on your work, co-workers and also matters relating to health. Your zone of workplace activities is stacked with five planets as the month commences. The new moon in this area also shows that you will be looking at changing your work methodologies and possibly even your place of work. After the 25th some of these changes may be implemented to your advantage.
SCORPIO (OCTOBER 23 - NOVEMBER 21) A stacked house of planets in your zone of love affairs and creativity means that March is going to be a rather amorous, passionate and creative exciting month for you. You will however have to be cautious not to overdo things and do balance your affairs as you can become drained of energy. You may have some lethargy in the first week or so of the month but this will quickly turn to excitement and the more proactive attitude once you overcome this initial stagnation.
SAGITTARIUS (NOVEMBER 22 - DECEMBER 21) You are trying to turn over a new leaf this month
but yet again too many problems in your home life make it hard for you to focus and really do what you want. It may not be until after the 12th when Mars give you a good kick start in the creativity department that you will feel ready and raring to go again. The 12th, 20th and 22nd are all important dates where your creative spurts and romantic desires overlap.
CAPRICORN (DECEMBER 22 - JANUARY 19) You will be extremely busy this month and in the first half of March need to organize your time more effectively to get the maximum use out of your time. You could be confused about relationships and you will therefore be hectic in rushing around trying to get a lot done. This appears to be more a case of avoiding a confrontation and distracting yourself with anything but the issue at hand. Try to face your problems fairly and squarely.
AQUARIUS (JANUARY 20 - FEBRUARY 18) Some short journeys are indicated after the 20th, when the Sun moves through your zone of short journeys. Venus also activates this area of your horoscope after the 22nd. Be careful to plan well ahead of time, as Mars and Uranus around the 23rd could create some sudden obstructions or possibly even some mishaps. The unexpected is likely but it’s not something you particularly want right now. so6ix.com | MARCH 2013

AMY HERRINGTON While growing up in Duncan, Okla. Amy Herrington always dreamed of being a hair stylist. She was blessed with family and friends who volunteered as test subjects in her early days, before she had professional training. Herrington attended the Academy of Hair Design in Oklahoma City in 2008. She studied the Sassoon method of cutting and styling hair, using precision cutting techniques and natural coloring. Since her training at the academy, she has attended numerous classes to continue her education from coast to coast with companies in the industry such as Goldwell, Aquage and Vidal Sassoon. Herrington has also been recruited to teach multiple classes in Oklahoma City. She has led select teams of artists in other disciplines of specialty styling such as photo shoots and fashion shows. Although she is a full time stylist at Salon W in Nichols Hills, she is continuing her academic education by pursuing degrees focused on Journalism and Organizational Communications. These degrees will allow her to expand her platform and use her communication skills and creativity in new ways beyond working behind the chair. 60
