wall. It is one of the only true Spanish restaurants in the Metro. El Pollo Chulo is certified by the American Heart Association. The owner has an interesting process of cooking his main dish, chicken. It is marinated in lime and fruit and then flame broiled, which ensures a great flavor and far healthier dish. Normally sold in portions of eight pieces and sides, you get a lot of food for under $10. Sides include Spanish rice, white rice, roasted potatoes, beans, and vegetables. The restaurant also serves fish, burritos, and Mediterranean-style desserts. While your instinct is to pass on by, you should stop in. It is definitely worth it!

If your workout wear doesn't fit properly or provide proper coverage, you could be too concerned with readjusting your outfit to truly focus on your exercise routine. Shop around to find the best workout gear for your body type and fitness regimen. One of my favorite websites to check the latest fashion trends in workout attire is www.lululemon.com. They have a huge selection of men’s and women’s yoga and workout frocks. In choosing your workout clothes, pay attention to the fabric content. Workout clothing is made from a variety of materials. Proper footwear is an essential part of a workout wardrobe. People who run as part of their exercise routines often choose to wear specialized running socks that are designed to cushion the feet and pull moisture away from the skin, preventing blisters. I also recommend getting a cushioned insole to help pad the bottom of the feet. Some of these can have a terrycloth layer which also keeps moisture away from the feet. You can get this type at ALDO shoes, and you can even toss them in the washing machine from time to time to eliminate odor. To determine the highest point of the brow, the arch, move your pencil from its upright position, diagonally across the iris of the eye. This will be the peak, the arch of the brow. Finally, to determine just how long your brow should extend, continue to move your pencil so that it is laying right underneath the corner of your nostril, running up across your cheekbone, to the corner of the orbital bone. This is where the brow should end. Any longer will be too exaggerated,

These restrictions are a major reason the housing market is slow to recover and will continue at a snail’s pace until the restrictions ease and some of the lending programs return. Today, we are purchasing real estate in what we call a “Buyer’s Market.” Too many homes are on the market for sale, and there are not enough qualified buyers to fill existing inventory. However, if you are able and willing, this is where opportunity awaits. Lending rates for those who qualify are at historic lows, and homes are being sold well under market value all across the U.S., and, yes, right here in the Oklahoma City metro as well.

Unless you have been living under a rock the If you are a homeowner looking to upgrade to past several years, you have witnessed what has your next home, there has not been a better time happened to our economy. Times like these are challenging

While you may not get as much as you want for your current home, you will be paying considerably less for your newly acquired higher end home and likely have a far better interest rate then you do right now. SO6IX PROFESSIONALS Later that summer, Amber set off on what she thought would be a simple goal: run one mile. She made 400 yards before she quit. Drenched in sweat and tears streaming down her face, she sat on the side of the road broken in spirit but more determined than ever to reach her health and fitness goals. Shortly afterward, Amber joined a gym and immersed herself into all things health and wellness. She hired a personal trainer, joined an online weight loss community, and even won a contest to meet and train one-on-one with one of America’s leading health and wellness experts, Jillian Michaels. Amber, now herself a certified personal trainer, credits all that sweating she did in the gym during her quest to shed 100 pounds as the catalyst that transformed more than just her body. Through

SO6IX PROFESSIONALS

JASON BOAG Jason Boag was born in Edmonds, WA (funny enough) on January 28, 1981. Growing up he enjoyed playing club soccer and was very active in extreme sports.

Surfing, snowboarding,

skateboarding, and wakeboarding were his free time pursuits. Always wanting to be active, and full of energy, he loved exercising as well.

After

obtaining his associate of arts degree from Olympic College in 2002, he worked in the construction and restaurant industries. Learning to build homes with his father taught Jason a lot about the movements he uses today at his gym—movements that mimic the demands of real life, such as pushing, pulling, throwing, carrying, squatting, and balancing. In July of 2005, Jason and his wife Kim moved to Edmond, OK. Pursuing his love of exercise, he became a certified personal trainer in 2006 with the National Academy of Sports Medicine. Also in 2006, Jason became CrossFit certified and opened CrossFit OKC. A lot of hard work and perspiration have built CrossFit OKC into one of the premier gyms in OKC for functional fitness training. Since starting his gym in Edmond, Jason has competed in the CrossFit games of 2008 and 2009 (a quest to find the fittest people on the planet),

become

Kettlebell

certified,

USA

Weightlifting certified, and is currently the only CrossFit trainer in Oklahoma to hold a Level 2 training certificate. Jason’s mission is to provide the people of OKC with the knowledge of how to move well, eat well, and live well, and have fun doing it. so6ix.com | JANUARY 2012
