In this issue we talk to a bunch of bands who have defied the hype, gone beyond the buzz and cemented themselves within the ears and hearts of today’s youth and beyond. We speak to YAK about the mutual disinterest with London’s record labels and to Splashh who fled the capital to reignite their writing spark. London is also the subject of an interview with Shopping, they discuss the rising costs to live within the city. Our eighth edition then journeys to Spain where we speak to Madrid girls Hinds. We revisit their journey from two girls in a room to the buzziest tours and travelling the world top to bottom. We can’t explain where exactly we meet The Moonlandingz, the fictional band project from The Fat White Family and the Eccentronic Research Council, all we can say is that there was conversation… at least we think there was. We also reflect upon the life and times of Austin Williams, frontman of Swim Deep. He guest writes for us with a piece he titles, ‘Is it Heroic?’.
