Food & Drink

From the local rums and pepper pots to langouste and

bouyon, Saint Lucia is known across the Caribbean for her rich culinary traditions and offers foodies a one-of-a-kind experience. Immerse yourself in favourite island dishes created from local grown farm-to-table produce or harvested from the sea. Saint Lucia’s cuisine is an eclectic mix of American, European, Indian and Caribbean flavours - spicy, warming and comforting. The island’s signature meal – and its national dish - is green figs and saltfish. It’s made by boiling unripe bananas and adding salt-cured boiled or flaked cod. It’s a hearty dish that’s enlivened with herbs and spices. Pair this meal with a plate of fried plantains, a bowl of callaloo soup (a spinach-like soup made from the callaloo plant) or a side of breadfruit. Breadfruit, a staple of local cuisine, resembles a potato but has a sweeter flavour. You may find that your meal has all of these elements, which will leave you filled to the brim for the rest of your stay!
