GOING OUT WITH A BANG!

ugust was a big month for Belinda Villarreal as she celebrated her 65th birthday and after 23 years of working in the banking world she hung up the phones for the last time! Belinda started working at McAllen National Bank back in 1994 where she started in Loan Administration and Switchboard. Years later McAllen National Bank took on a new bank name Border Capital Bank and with that Belinda was moved to handling the switchboard for all the new locations. In 2013 the bank was bought by Texas Regional Bank and she was now handling the phone lines for over 15 locations. Belinda always answered the phones with a smile in her voice and it’s no surprise she was nicknamed “The Voice of the Bank”. On September 2nd Belinda celebrated with her family and friends a celebration of life and happiness with great food, great music and lots of memories! On behalf of her husband Juan, her two daughters Victoria and Erika and her 6 grandchildren Nevaeh, Nathan, Virginia, Neenah, Nellie Rose and Jadonn, we want to wish her a wonderful retirement full of lots of relaxation and time to spend with her family and friends! We love you!

FA L L T R E NDS ALERT

W

e can still feel the summer weather but if you’re like me, there’s one thing that’s making us look forward for the next season: the fall trends. We have seen so many cool clothes and accessories in the runways but there’s just a few of them that are actually wearable and that will become the biggest fall trends. Strong colors, luxurious fabrics, and statement-making pieces are winning this fall. These are the top four trends to shop now.

FASHION

By Krizia Velez | recklessbabe.com | @therecklessbabe

VELVET This luxurious fabric is here to stay… probably you already started eyeing it. Last year, we saw it become a popular trend but this year expect for the velvet trend to be a little different. We can all thank Prada, Koché and Erdem for making this trend a little more polished. Coming in the richest tones, it is a must-have in every closet.

RED Every season we see a new color that everybody is obsessed with and this fall is the vibrant color red. Some consider that this is not for those who are cautionary with fashion but for bold trendsetters, I think that we all can incorporate it by adding a little touch of this rich hue to any outfit to make it pop.

PLAID

METALLIC High shine and drama are now for daytime looks and not saved for the nighttime anymore. You can add a little bit of sparkle to you daily outfit with some metallic boots, purse or even a blouse.

This fabric gives a total makeover to your daily office look as power suiting is huge for the fall as well. Plaid should be worn on accessories, outwear, and head-to-toe looks.

how much cardio should I do?

T

oo many times I get asked how much cardio should I do? Or what kind of cardio should I do? First thing you have to understand

is that it doesn't matter how much cardio, type of intensity, or kind of cardio you do if your eating habits aren't clean, you will not lose inches or weight desired. If anything you'll probably gain is weight because your body acts like storage unit if it need be. So let's say you do have a good diet and you want to incorporate cardio into your regimen, i would give my trainees a small amount anywhere from 2030 mins of a mild form of cardio, example: walking, bicycle, elliptical, treadmill, stepper ... you ask why? Well, see the way cardio is suppose to be used is to eat more ....not to burn calories even though a lot of people have that belief. What you're supposed to try and do is raise your metabolism with the cardio you do and let the diet create the body you desire. Now you ask why so lil’ time? When you start cardio at higher time let's say an "hour" then within a matter of time your body will get use to that hour and you will have to do more time or increase the intensity to bump up your metabolism, which let's face it who has that type time laying around. So a good base of 20-30 mins of cardio a day would be good until the body gets use it and then doing 10 mins more from those 20-30 mins would be the smart
