love unframed By Christian Shane Dougherty
Fer Da Silva is a Venezuelan and Portuguese visual artist, who currently resides and creates most of his art pieces in New York City. I had the pleasure to discuss art and life with him.
Could you share with us about your upbringing and what initially sparked your creative journey?
I was born in Caracas, Venezuela, but grew up in Valencia—a different city I hold dear. My childhood was spent watching my mom paint, which, at the time, seemed more like a hobby to me. Never did I imagine that I would become an artist myself. Instead, I was drawn to the spotlight, aspiring to be an actor and singer. However, it seems artistry was in my DNA all along. I found myself immersed in painting at home, and before I knew it, my casual hobby had blossomed into a full-time career as a visual artist. And here we are—I absolutely love what I do! Should we unearth some of your earliest artwork, what narratives and themes could we expect to unfold before our eyes? I found it funny that people often expected me to paint something serious—truth be told, I'd quickly lose interest. Instead, I generally leaned toward an abstract style, often adopting a 'breaking the rules' approach. Interestingly, I've never taken an art class, and, in hindsight, I'm actually glad I didn't. I'm not suggesting one shouldn't attend art classes—it's just that my personal journey unfolded differently. There's something special about being self-taught that I genuinely appreciate.
How many years have you been painting? Professionally between 8 and 10 years, but if I go back to when I was an exchange student, sixteen years old, living abroad in the United States alone. And, when I felt a bit depressed, I painted and loved it. So, I have been painting my whole life.
From which sources or experiences do you derive the greatest inspiration for your artwork? In my formative years, nature served as my primary source of inspiration. However, my focus has since evolved—it is now firmly rooted in emotion and a clear message of love, coupled with expressions of gratitude. My aim is to continually remind people about the transformative power of love.
Can you go deeper on “the power of love?”
A few years ago, I was going through a bad time and was depressed. I recently moved to this country and had broken up with someone – I was heartbroken. I would write songs that reminded me too much of the heartache. I took a real and conscience approach and decided to do what I love to rise above. I painted. The words I use now, “You have to give love to receive it,” was foreign to me in the past when I was feeling unloved and lost. I knew what was happening; I didn’t know how to bring love back into my life and how to heal. So, I started thinking I would give love out through my paintings. And maybe, just maybe, I would receive love back! Although, at the start, the paintings were not hearts, they were abstract waves. When I painted two waves, I immediately saw the heart. I would have never expected all the love I have gotten back, so I continue to paint hearts inspired by all my blessings – everything happens for a reason.

In New York City, art is an open dialogue—a testament to the past, a reflection of the present, and a speculative eye towards the future.
When one thinks of an artistic haven, New York City often springs to mind as the quintessential heart of culture, creativity, and color. The Big Apple has ceaselessly been a dynamic canvas, magnetizing artists from across the globe with its transformative energy and endless potential.
Art in New York City isn't confined to the hallowed halls of its renowned museums or the chic, whitewashed galleries in upscale neighborhoods. It spills out onto the streets, in the vibrant murals of the Bronx, the graffititagged walls of Brooklyn, and the provocative installations of public parks. Here, the city itself becomes a living, breathing gallery—one where every corner turned presents a potential encounter with creativity.
From the imposing grandeur of the Metropolitan Museum of Art to the cutting-edge contemporary spaces of Chelsea, New York City's art scene is as diverse as it is expansive. It's a city where timehonored tradition meets boundary-pushing innovation—a harmonious yet dynamic dance of artistic expression.
NEW YORK CITY: THE DYNAMIC CANVAS OF EVER-EVOLVING ARTISTRY The varied influences of its immigrant populations, the critical contributions of its marginalized communities, and the innovative spirit of its youth all converge, fostering a cultural milieu unlike any other.
Guggenheim Museum, 5th Avenue, New York City
At the heart of New York's artistic vitality is its extraordinary diversity. The city, much like a prism, refracts the myriad cultures, histories, and experiences of its inhabitants into a radiant spectrum of artistic expression.
Despite the global pandemic's profound impacts, the art scene's resilience underscores the integral role art plays in New York City's identity. Virtual exhibitions, outdoor installations, and sociallydistanced performances have all shown that creativity thrives even in adversity. #MOMA
The city's artistic landscape is also shaped by its ongoing conversation with the global art scene. New York City, as a nexus of commerce and culture, absorbs global influences while concurrently radiating its own. Its renowned art market, from high-profile auctions to influential art fairs, plays a significant role in determining international art trends.

Music today is going through some really
cool
changes.
The
rise
of
technology has flung open the doors to music making, and artists are grabbing the chance to get creative and push boundaries. No longer are the big record companies holding all the cards – musicians are able to connect directly with listeners, sparking a tidal wave of fresh, diverse sounds. But music isn't just about catchy tunes and funky beats. It's also about the stories we tell, the emotions we feel, and the connections we make. In a world where it often feels like we're more disconnected than ever, music bridges the gap. It gives us a way to talk about the stuff that matters, whether it's social issues, personal struggles, or shared experiences.
By Rouge Magazine
That being said, the music industry isn't without its problems. While streaming platforms have given us access to an amazing variety of music, they've also made it tough for many artists to make a decent living. It's got us thinking - how can we better support the people making the music we love? In the end, the future of music is going to be shaped by new tech, shifts in culture, and of course, the creativity of musicians. And as fans, we're not just passive listeners. We're part of the conversation, and we have a role in shaping the direction music takes. So let's keep listening, keep sharing, and keep appreciating the magic of music.

rt, in its many forms, has always held the power to move, inspire, and heal. It transcends the boundaries of language, culture, and personal experience, speaking to the very core of our shared humanity.
Today, we stand at the nexus of this power, observing its transformation into a therapeutic tool in the form of art therapy - a marriage of the creative process and psychological healing.
Art therapy has been progressively acknowledged within the mental health community, carving a niche in the spectrum of therapeutic interventions. It involves the use of creative techniques, such as drawing, painting, collage, and sculpting, to help people express themselves artistically and examine the psychological and emotional undertones in their art.
At its heart, art therapy is based on the belief that the creative process involved in artistic self-expression helps people resolve conflicts, develop interpersonal skills, manage behavior, reduce stress, and increase self-esteem and self-awareness. Many individuals find it difficult to express their feelings verbally, particularly when they've undergone trauma or are battling mental health conditions. Herein lies the power of art therapy - it opens a non-verbal channel for emotions, allowing people to convey what they may find too painful or complicated to put into words.
Art therapy also nurtures a sense of autonomy. The canvas is a safe space where the individual has full control, which can be particularly healing for those who feel their circumstances are beyond their control. Through each brushstroke, they reclaim their agency and self-efficacy.
Art therapy's effectiveness is not merely anecdotal. Multiple scientific studies highlight its benefits. Research suggests that it can reduce anxiety levels, improve mood, and enhance overall quality of life, particularly in individuals dealing with conditions such as depression, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and various forms of addiction. Despite these benefits, it's essential to remember that art therapy is not a panacea. It works best as part of a broader treatment plan, often in conjunction with traditional talk therapy and medication when necessary. Looking ahead, it's time we embrace art therapy as a potent tool in our arsenal against mental health challenges. As a society, we need to continue researching and refining its methods and applications, striving for a future where mental health care is as comprehensive, holistic, and personalized as possible. In the symphony of healing, art therapy is a profound melody that resonates with our intrinsic desire to express, connect, and heal. It is a testament to the power of creativity and a beacon of hope for those navigating the often turbulent waters of mental health. By embracing art therapy, we are not just acknowledging the power of art but celebrating our enduring capacity for resilience, growth, and healing.

THE COLOR OF ROYALS By Christian Shane Dougherty
Were you interested in art at a young age? Where did you grow up and where do you currently reside? Art has always been my refuge since a young age; either by painting or making things by hand.
IOANNA EFTHIMIOU Royal Artist
www.ioannaefthimiou.gr
I was born in Perth, Australia to Greek parents, so my first images were from the sea; the beautiful landscapes, as well as from TV screen images of a young Queen Elizabeth II, having a very lovable face for Australians, as well as for my mother who admired her a lot. I returned to Athens, Greece with my family after a 45 day long trip on a large ocean liner. We passed through the largest ports in the world with last destination in the port of Piraeus in Greece. Since then, my life has always been in constant motion but I think that’s how an artist’s life should be! I finished my school years in Athens, and then I passed in the National School of Fine Arts. I finished the painting department, continuing my art studies
in painting and design in New York and London. After numerous exhibitions in Greece and abroad, I stayed for an extended time due to work in London in previous years, but my base was always Athens, Greece with my family. Since 201, I lived mostly in Athens, Greece, Monaco and Monte Carlo.
Who, or what, inspired you to start painting? I ‘ve always been fascinated by great Artists like Picasso and Dali - both for their work and for the life they led. From a young age, I believed that all artists stood out for their personality and life. They are the ones who, through
their works, praised life and especially things that the common man cannot comprehend.
How did you become a Royal Artist? In 2010, and after a long time of hard work and effort, my biggest dream come true. A huge exhibition in London of Her Majesty’s most significant portraits from all of Her life and under Her own permission entitled: “All The Portraits of H.M. Queen Elizabeth II” I will never forget the visit of Her grandsons William & Harry, and their impression in front of my paintings. I was completely impressed! After London came Monaco and then another great and very honorable exhibition - the unforgettable Princess Grace of Monaco, with very significant portraits from Her lifetime. This all led me to London in 2017 to be awarded the honorable title of International Royal Artist.
Tell us a bit about International Action Art. International Action Art is a nonprofit organization founded in 2010. It aims to preserve, rescue, disseminate and protect traditional and modern culture - free exchange and circulation of cultural information and ideas. It organizes initiatives and programs encouraging cultural development, and the promotion of peace, friendship and mutual cooperation, social solidarity of equality and the rights of women and understanding among people who serve the cultural development of their country. International Action is a global art community with representatives in all countries of the world. The General and Global President and founder is Mr. Ioannis Maronitis. Me, I have the great honor to be the President of International Action Art in Monaco, and I am looking forward to present our latest work projects on this - hopefully after the Covid virus subsides globally.
One of this is Maria Callas Gala and awards MONACO, 1st Edition.
Can you give us a few details about the Maria Callas Monaco Gala? Maria Callas Gala and Awards MONACO is a tribute, which is a high-standard event to the Greek origin and unforgettable Opera Soprano Maria Callas. We are trying to revive the myth of the first legendary Gala was held in Monaco 60 years ago under the auspices and presence of Princess Grace and Prince Rainier of Monaco. It will be presented it under the auspices of the Greek Community of Monaco. We were scheduled to present it from April 2020 but as the Covid virus still exists, we must move it to 2021. We plan to have the even in the beginning of May 2021 at the Salle Empire of Hotel de Paris - aiming to become an Institution to present it every year in Monaco. The Gala will consist of a unique Opera concert by famous International artists like Elena Kuszheleva and Roman Lopatynskyi. And, an awards
ceremony for distinguished persons of different areas, such as arts, sports and social offers. Also, there will be an art exhibition of a very well-known art gallery in Monaco. Followed by jewelry presentation of the unique artwork of the famous Greek designer Xaris Apergi, and also an elegant fashion show showcasing executive designer brands under the sounds of the Opera. My acquaintances with Prince Albert, as well as with local art galleries, were truly fortunate collaborations and amazing factors for me to stay in Monaco and work there for long periods of time until today. After all, Monaco and Southern France are the places where the most important artists lived and created.

THE LA ART SCENE: A VIBRANT TAPESTRY OF EVOLUTION AND INNOVATION
The cultural landscape of Los Angeles has long been an incubator for creativity and innovation. From the cinematic epicenter of Hollywood to the intricate murals that adorn city walls, artistic expression permeates the City of Angels. However, in recent years, LA's art scene has experienced a renaissance that merits particular attention. It’s an ongoing narrative that involves transforming industrial zones into thriving creative communities, repurposing old spaces, and welcoming new galleries that invite local and international talent to share their work. Los Angeles has always been a fertile ground for artists, but the city's growth as an international art destination has accelerated dramatically in the past decade.

Part of this growth can be attributed to the city's recognition of its artistic communities' potential. The Arts District in downtown LA, once a hub for the manufacturing industry, has been repurposed into a vibrant neighborhood brimming with galleries, studios, and creative spaces. Similarly, the emergence of the Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) and The Broad has solidified the city's status as an artistic hotspot, offering homes to diverse collections of contemporary and postwar art. Furthermore, this blossoming is spurred on by the city's rich tapestry of cultures. From Latinx and African American influences to Asian and Indigenous heritage, the city's multicultural nature breathes life into the art scene, creating a rich, eclectic mix of inspiration for local artists. The influence of high-profile artists and celebrities who have chosen to settle in LA also cannot be understated. Their presence has undoubtedly contributed to the city's rise as an art capital, attracting a new generation of creatives and art enthusiasts.

Los Angeles County Museum of Art, Wilshire Boulevard
Los Angeles's growth as an art epicenter has also coincided with the rise of technology and digital art. The city's tech-savvy culture has opened up new frontiers for artistic expression, with digital art forms such as virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) becoming increasingly popular. LA's annual Digital Art Festival is a testament to this trend, showcasing innovative art forms and nurturing the next generation of digital artists. In essence, the burgeoning art scene in Los Angeles is a reflection of its dynamic and diverse populace. It's a testament to the city's capacity for reinvention and its unyielding commitment to fostering creativity. As we look to the future, we eagerly anticipate the artistic innovations and explorations that this vibrant city will inspire.

AI TODAY AND TOMORROW: NAVIGATING THE FRONTIER OF INTELLIGENT MACHINES As we stand on the precipice of the third decade of the 21st century, the landscape of artificial intelligence (AI) unfolds before us in all its complexity and promise. Over the past years, AI has transitioned from the realm of science fiction to an integral part of our daily lives. Today, AI powers everything from our smartphones and virtual assistants to more sophisticated applications in healthcare, finance, education, and beyond. Machine learning, a subset of AI, allows systems to learn and improve from experience, creating patterns and making decisions with minimal human intervention. It's this technology that powers your Netflix recommendations, filters your spam emails, and even predicts your next online purchase. Furthermore, AI has shown enormous potential in the healthcare sector. We're seeing AI being used to predict disease outbreaks, streamline patient care, and even aid in drug discovery. It's revolutionizing the way we approach healthcare, paving the way for more accurate diagnoses and personalized treatments.

report to continue...
However, as much as AI is a force of innovation and transformation, it presents its own set of challenges. Data privacy, job displacement, and ethical considerations are critical issues. The automation potential of AI technologies has sparked a debate about the future of work and the role of humans in an increasingly automated world. Looking ahead, we are poised to see the rise of artificial general intelligence (AGI) - AI systems that possess general intelligence similar to human intelligence. AGI could understand, learn, adapt, and implement knowledge across a wide array of tasks, opening unprecedented possibilities. But the question isn't just about what AI can do. It's also about what it should do. As we look towards a future intertwined with AI, we need to ask tough questions about ethics, responsibility, and governance. What kind of guidelines should be in place to govern the use of AI? How do we balance the benefits with potential risks?
Indeed, the future of AI is not a foregone conclusion but an ongoing process of exploration and negotiation. As we embrace the possibilities of AI, we also must wrestle with its challenges. It's this interplay between the promise and the peril of AI that makes our current moment so exciting, so daunting, and so profoundly important. In conclusion, AI is not just a technological revolution. It's a societal transformation, a new chapter in the human story. And as we pen this chapter, it's up to us to ensure that the narrative of AI aligns with our hopes, our values, and our vision for a better future.

eventique Eventique specializes in producing innovative, sophisticated and cutting edge events, using a core belief that storytelling drives our creative approach. Founded by leaders in the entertainment and event production industry with extensive technical expertise.
Can you tell us a bit about your background and how you arrived where you are today? I grew up in New York and went to Boston University. Then did an internship studying PR and Communications for a couple of months working in the music side for usher, little john and Mariah Carey then Summer Jam. I’m not a desk guy and I don't like sitting desk. I was also DJing in nightclubs throughout my whole college career. Having control of a room full of people and playing the music that I love to hear and making money and seeing everybody enjoyed themselves – there was nothing better!
INTRO WELCOME TO THE PARTY Taking a step back, what made you what made you get interested in in all that back in college? Even going back like when I went in in high school I was always the guy who organized the party. I was the one who organized and rented my father's friends sample sale store and moved all the clothing racks to the back, ordered a drape and booked a DJ for New Year’s Eve. And, when someone challenged me to just you know Dj party for them I’d just figure it out – I consider myself a “solution person.”
What’s the key factor to draw people into a virtual event? To explore a world, they would not be able to in real life. So, we're not rendering a traditional theater space and want to take you out of your computer and current state of mind.
How did you scale the business up to where you are now? I am a hustler - a true New Yorker! I don't give up and I don't take no for an answer but, more than that it's that I believe in the energy you surround yourself with and if you believe the energy is positive, you bring that positivity to the people around you. Events is the perfect platform for someone who lives and breathes celebrating life every day. I lost my parents at a young age, so live in the moment because you never know what’s going to happen tomorrow. The looks on people’s faces during my event is what keeps me highly driven and motivated.
EVENTIQUE.COM
Regarding the corporate side, what’s your vision for virtual meetings/events? What type of out of the box ideals come to mind? So……..the pain is real, ha. If a company is putting on a corporate event, they need to determine who the audience is and what is the reason for the event/meeting. If it’s not good, it’s probably better not to do anything at all. It’s been a challenging year for everyone. How do you combat fear of the unknown in business and your personal life? It’s on my mind all the time. For me personally, my history of the unknown is not unfamiliar. That unknown LEADS to innovation. Turn the switch, get value out of life and enjoyment from others and family. What is your personal motto and from where do you pull your inspiration? My yearbook quote was “carpe diem.” My father was a great dad to me and to everyone around. I pull from my mother and father who loved life and celebrating each day and each other – we are lucky overall. On the agenda? Crypto and the NFT space are one of the clear examples. DREAMVERSE was the first NFT festival. Art, music mixed with technology – this like heaven for me! Art is the color of life.

Reflection How do you work and who, or what, inspires you? I imagine that whoever you are, inspiration bubbles forth from how your environment affects you, how you perceive the world - outer and inner. Artists are of- ten emotionoriented and in- spired by passions of all sorts. There is nothing more colorful than the artistic expression that births from conflict, turmoil, or the simple joy that‘s remiss for words.
