LTOs: Boosting Traffic and Sales
It’s a new year of delicious food trends! We’re celebrating our guests’ increasing interest in both good food AND good-for-you food—and we’re ready to capture their enthusiasm with our Winter-Spring menu lineup. To maximize guest participation, take this opportunity to promote our limited-time offers by displaying the marketing assets available in your kit and on Retail Ranger to generate buzz about our talented chefs and the amazing dishes on our menus.
JANUARY
Mindful’s feel-good foods, with an emphasis on well-being, help guests kick off their best year yet. The signature chefs at Love of Food have created dishes infused with regional and on-trend flavors—for guests who love tradition with a twist.
FEBRUARY
For guests who love new flavors: Love of Food’s Tomato-Pepper Relish Smashburger and Mindful’s Red Curry Falafel Quinoa Bowl balance familiarity with adventure and intriguing ingredients to keep the menu exciting.
MARCH
Our café guests continue to expand their culinary curiosity so this month’s menu lineup includes Mediterranean, Asian, Southwestern, Middle Eastern and Hawaiian flavors, along with a trending Nashville Hotinspired offering.
APRIL
Quality ingredients, memorable flavors and a passion for delighting guests inspired April’s Love of Food LTOs. Mindful’s menu treats guests to bold and indulgent dishes, all prepared with a focus on better-for-you ingredients.
MAY
Amazing ingredients take center plate at Mindful, from Fresh Fruit Cobb Salad to Butter Chicken Tacos. Love of Food features two chefs’ culinary creations, including a contest-winning recipe for Lentil-Stuffed Mushrooms.
Increase Your Sales
Use promotions and LTOs to drive guest excitement and increase sales through:
• Higher check average
• Heightened awareness of new products
• Increased guest participation
• Greater guest frequency
The Power of LTOs
LTOs (Limited Time Offers) bring excitement to your café and make it easy to spice up a menu with variety and on-trend tastes. These innovative menu offerings generate guest interest and frequency, resulting in higher sales, profitability and check average. In simplest terms, they’re a big deal.
Our guests are at the heart of every LTO offering, which is why we’re always reviewing trends and consumer insights. Everything in the promotions series is guest-centric and every decision is based on a guest’s motivations and key drivers. Culinary development always starts with data: research from Datassential® and other sources, research from our vendor partners and our own sales reports. With this information, we can identify movements, trends and ingredients to develop LTOs that entice and attract guests— and keep them coming back again and again.
LTOs AND MENU SERVICE PLANS
To run LTOs, you must request a MSP through the site request portal on MySodexo.com; you’ll find details in the User Guide. If you do not see the MSP as a choice in the MSP drop-down, select “Other,” and a blank box will appear to manually enter the MSP name. Be sure to enter your DM as your Approver 2 (or the request will be rejected). Any questions or concerns about using the portal, contact DRIVESupport@ sodexo.com for support.
For Winter-Spring promotions, be sure to search: PROMO Mutualized Promotions Winter-Spring 2025 Retail.
Gathering and Measuring Guest Data
During the LTO development process, we rely on information from varied sources.
DATASSENTIAL
We use Datassential menu trends and menu adoption cycles to begin development. The menu adoption cycles show us ingredient trends from inception to ubiquity which allow us to understand fastest growing menu ingredients.
CONSUMER VILLAGE
This community is made up of thousands of consumers who shop at cafés like ours. We talk with them about everything food-related, including foods they’d like to experience, feedback on our products and recipes, and much more. Their direct input is shared and incorporated into every aspect of the development and execution of promotions.
INFOR
Our enterprise POS system gives us the power to capture and analyze millions of guest data points and to help guide strategic discussions with clients. We use real-time, real guest, transaction data to understand your guests as individuals, and create products and solutions that they want to experience.
Together, these unique tools and processes enable us to better understand the guest as an individual and capitalize on our insight to create solutions.
