Intercollegiate athletics play an important role at Tiffin University. The students who participate develop life-long friendships and learn leadership and teamwork skills, how to set goals and work hard to achieve those goals, how to deal with adversity, the importance of persistence, sportsmanship, and physical fitness, and other skills and abilities that contribute to satisfying and productive lives and careers. Our athletic program also provides visibility and name recognition for TU, helps develop a sense of excitement, morale and school spirit on campus, and provides opportunities for students, employees, alumni, and supporters to unite behind a common goal. At Tiffin University, our students endeavour to excel in both the classroom and the athletic arena. Our athletic programs have enjoyed tremendous success in recent years with conference championships, teams being nationally ranked and challenging at national tournaments. There have been numerous individual accolades including All-Americans, and it is no small accomplishment that in the past few years we have set new standards of excellence with our individual and team academic achievements. We expect our student-athletes to be just as successful in the classroom. A recent self study conducted by the university indicated that, of all the athletes who completed their eligibility at Tiffin University in the last five years, 95% of those athletes graduated. While many colleges would be ecstatic with these results, we will never be content until it is 100%. We are proud of our rich history and look forward to setting new milestones as we enter the NCAA Division II playing field and the highly competitive Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. Ron Martin Ron Martin is in his seventh season with Tiffin University as a distance coach. w In the four years that Martin has coached the “TU DISTANCE CREW”, his athletes th hhave broken over 19 school records and ggarnered two NCAA D-II All Americans. Chad Roberts the feat in Cross Country (28th in 31:17.4) Ch dR b t accomplished li h d th and Jeremy Lee was 3rd at the National Meet in the 1500 (3:51.53). Ron taught health and physical education for 30 years. He has coached distance runners for 37 years at three different high schools (Caldwell, Tiffin Columbian, and Seneca East) in addition to Tiffin University. In cross country, Martin’s athletes have compiled an overall record of 2730 Wins - 354 Losses (88.5% winning percentage). His athletes have a combined total of 28 All-Ohio honors, 8 individual State Champions, and 3 high school All-Americans. His teams have finished 1st or 2nd in the State Cross Country Meet 16 times. In Track, Martin’s distance runners have compiled 25 All-Ohio honors, 5 individual State Champions, 8 high school All-Americans, and 1 National Champion in the 5000m (15:12.7). Ron and Bev, his wife of 33 years, are parents to 5 children (Chris, Heather, Erica, Rachel, and Rebecca).
Marc Small Marc Small is in his third season at Tiffin. H will coach the Sprints and Jumps. Prior He to TU, he coached sprints and jumps and was the strength and conditioning coach at Lake Superior State. During his time at LSSU, Small’s athletes broke 21 school records with over 15 top5 finishes at the GLIAC championship meets, and he also helped train a 2007 NCAA All American. Small ran at Tiffin for three years, qualifying in the 800 for the NAIA Indoor National Championships twice. He was a two-time America Mideast Conference champion in the 800. Small held the school records in the indoor and outdoor 800 at graduation. Both times remain among the top five. Small earned a degree in Sports Management from TU in 2006. Small finished his career at Lake Superior State, running on two indoor school record relays (1600M, distance medley relay). He has a Master’s in Curriculum & Instruction.
Ray Robinson Ray Robinson is in his first year at TU. He is no stranger to the Dragons after a H ssuccesful throwing career here. Robinson scored in the discus at the o outdoor GLIAC Championship meet three times. In 2010 he set the school record and ti provisionally qualified for the NCAA Division II National Championships in the discus with a toss of 162 feet, four inches. Robinson also ranks among the top 10 in the 35-LB weight and hammer. He was a four-time GLIAC All-Academic selection. Coaching experience: USATF registered coach. Coached Adriane Blewitt at the 2010 U.S. Championships at Drake University, in Des Moines Iowa. Blewitt finished fifth in the shot put among the nation’s professionals. He also coached her in the 2011 U.S. Championships at the University of Oregon, in Eugene, Oregon. Robinson has worked extensively with John Godina, four-time world champion and nine-time Olympic and World Championship medal recipient in both the shot put and the discus. Coach Robinson’s throwing philosophy is heavily influenced by both John Godina and Adriane Blewitt.
Jonathan Graupmann Jonathan Graupmann is in his first season aat Tiffin. Prior to TU, he coached sprints aand hurdles at Marietta College. During th those two seasons, he helped lead Marietta to 53 All-Ohio Athletic Conference honors and 10 All-Conference relays. Amongst his other coaching accomplishments, he aided athletes in becoming National qualifiers and garnering three Division II All-American honors, including coaching the 2011 OAC Men’s Harrison Dillard Most Outstanding Sprint Athlete. In 2010 he was part of the OAC Women’s Indoor Coaching Staff of the Year. While coaching at Dixie Heights High School (KY) in 2008, Graupmann coached the KHSAA Class 3A Individual State Champion in the Boys 300 meter hurdles. He also has coaching experience with the Northern Kentucky Track Club. Graupmann is USATF Level 2 certified in sprints, hurdles, and relays and also has certification as USATF Level 2 Endurance and USATF Emerging Elite Coaches Camp for sprints, hurdles, and relays. Graupmann earned his Bachelors degree in History from Ohio Northern in 2007. While competing at ONU, he earned All-American honors in 2005 and was 5-time OAC champion. Graupmann is working on his Masters and resides in Tiffin.
Steve Livoti Steve Livoti is in his third season at T n. He works primarily with hurdlers Tiffi aand sprinters. Livoti is a native of Tiffin who has taught W World Studies at Lakota Schools for 30 yyears. He has coached track for 33 years and was head boy’s and girl’s track coach for 24 of those years. Livoti accumulated a record of 2028 wins and 908 losses. He has had athletes who have represented Lakota High School for 27 of the last 33 years in the state championship. In 1987, the Lakota girls track team won the State Championship. Livoti taught education classes at Heidelberg from 2006 to 2009. He received the Bob Cline Longevity Award for 30 plus years of coaching and was nominated in 2010 for the Ohio Track and Field Hall of Fame Fred Daffler Longevity Award. Steve is married to Kathy and they have two children, Kara and Tony.
Sirena Williams Sirena Williams is in her first season aat Tiffin. She will be coaching the long ssprinters. Prior to TU, Williams was the assistant ccoach at Feather River College (Calif.). She was the main recruiter for cross country w and track & field. Williams was head coach at South River HS, helping the squad break 19 school records. The SRHS girl’s team won the 2010 Indoor Regional Championship; first team title since 1983. She also produced five high school All-County team championships and 39 State Qualifiers (seven placed in the top eight at the Maryland State Track & Field Championships), and four nationally ranked athletes. Williams spent four years at Suitland HS, as an assistant for the first three years and the head women’s coach the fourth year. During her four years, Williams helped guide the boys program to four State Championship titles. Williams started her track journey at Central High School in 1993. By the end of her high school career, Williams was an eight-time Maryland State Champion, running events ranging from the short sprints to the hurdles. She made the all-county team several times and was voted to the Washington Post’s 1996-97 All-Met Track and Field Team. Williams was an integral part of Central winning two Maryland State Championship. She then attended the University of Connecticut as a member of the track program on an athletic scholarship. Williams holds USATF Level II Certification in Sprints, Hurdles, and Relays. Williams is also a USATFNC Certified Official specialized as a Starter. Williams, a Maryland native, holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication Processes from the University of Connecticut in 2001. She is currently in pursuit of her MBA in Sports Management.

Share the Pride, Build on Tradition is a $12 million comprehensive campaign designed to create endowed student scholarships, construct the new recreation center, and make other campus improvements. These enhancements, coupled with recent investments in new student apartments, the Tiffin University Nature Preserve, Paradiso Athletic Complex, and the Miami Street Improvement Project, will result in a total investment by Tiffin University of more than $30 million in the Tiffin community.
Campaign Objectives Recreation Center $9,400,000 The Recreation Center will consist of two connected buildings: a field house and an indoor practice facility. The connector will include a lobby and locker room facilities. Other Campus Development $1,600,000 Over the past several decades, TU has created a campus that not only reflects the University’s own growth and success, but also enhances the appearance and economic well being of the City of Tiffin. To continue pursuing the campus master plan, TU seeks $1.6 million for land acquisition, landscaping, parking and others amenities. Endowed Student Scholarships $1,000,000 Without financial aid, many Tiffin University students could not afford higher education. Since over 80 percent of TU students receive some level of aid, TU leaders seek $1 million to bolster the endowment resources of the University to create additional student scholarships.
