Welcome... We l c o m e t o t h i s a t h l e t i c s e a s o n a t Ti f f i n U n i v e r s i t y. I invite you to watch and cheer for all of our women’s and men’s teams. Intercollegiate athletics play an important role at Tiffin University. The students who participate develop life-long friendships and learn leadership and teamwork skills, how to set goals and work hard to achieve those goals, how to deal with adversity, the importance of persistence, sportsmanship, and physical fitness, and other skills and abilities that contribute to satisfying and productive lives and careers. Our athletic program also provides visibility and name recognition for TU, helps develop a sense of excitement, morale and school spirit on campus, and provides opportunities for students, employees, alumni, and supporters to unite behind a common goal. We are especially proud of the high standards of conduct displayed by our coaches and players on and off the field. Paul Marion, Ph. D. President
At Tiffin University, our students endeavour to excel in both the classroom and the athletic arena. Our athletic programs have enjoyed tremendous success in recent years with conference championships, teams being nationally ranked and challenging at national tournaments. There have been numerous individual accolades including AllAmericans, and it is no small accomplishment that in the past few years we have set new standards of excellence with our individual and team academic achievements. We expect our student-athletes to be just as successful in the classroom. A recent self study conducted by the university indicated that, of all the athletes who completed their eligibility at Tiffin University in the last five years, 95% of those athletes graduated. While many colleges would be ecstatic with these results, we will never be content until it is 100%. We are proud of our rich history and look forward to setting new milestones as we enter the NCAA Division II playing field and the highly competitive Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. We are proud of our athletes and what they have accomplished. They have been the force behind the winning tradition that has been established, and I am confident the future will also be highly successful for Tiffin University athletics. - Lonny Allen Athletic Director

Dragons Look To Fly High In 2012 Tiffin was a young squad in 2011 with just five juniors and seniors on the 15 person roster. The Dragons finished 6-13 in the GLIAC and 7-21 overall. Lindsay Heller closed out her career by earning All-GLIAC honors for the second time. She finished with 1604 career digs (8th all-time), the first player in school NCAA Division II history to reach that mark. Tiffin will be young again in 2012 as only six returning players are among the 21 on the roster. Leading the way is twotime All-GLIAC selection Danielle McQuade. McQuade, one of five starters back, led the team with 3.56 kills per set (356) and a .269 hitting percentage while averaging 2.89 digs per set. Tiffany Buchinger returns to quarterback the Dragons after averaging 8.64 assists per set. She was battle tested as the primary setter as a freshman and comes back with maturity. Jordan Jenkins looks to take over the libero position from Heller. Jenkins was second on the team with 2.99 digs per set and led the squad with 30 service aces. Maggie Betz and Maureen Kurtz both saw significant time as starters last season. Besides their experience, they have good size as both are around the six-foot mark. Bridget Boyle has been a steady performer off the bench the past two years for TU.
Although the Dragons will be young, it’s an experienced youth as five transfers are among the 15 newcomers. Brooke Friesen and Briana Rosen are a pair of six-foot transfers. Friesen, an outside hitter, helped Western Wyoming Community College go 79-9 over the last two seasons. Rosen, a right side, averaged 1.83 kills and 1.64 digs per set with 41 total blocks for Midway College (Ky.). In addition, transferring in is Sarah Haman (Ohio Valley), Rachel Reamer (OSU Newark) and Molly Warren (Kalamazoo Valley CC). All three will be challenging for playing time as defensive specialists. The Dragons brought in more height as five of their seven member freshman class stand 5-10 or taller. The tallest are Alex Miglin (Mt. Vernon HS in Ohio) and Sabine Stadler (Germany) at 6’-2”.

Volleyball Facilities The Gillmor Student Center
The Gillmor Student Center has been the home arena for Tiffin University volleyball since the 1988-89 season - and, like the saying goes, there’s no place like home. In addition to the main auditorium, the building also contains over 17 offices, shower and locker rooms, a training room, a bookstore, a media conference room, a Student Activities room, the Student Affairs offices, the Channel 10 broadcast center, the Tiffin University Hall of Fame, and Trophy Gallery. A complete renovation of the Gillmor Center was recently completed. The Dining Commons, the Osceola Theater, a student lounge, expanded recreation room, numerous new offices, and expanded parking areas are just a few of the new renovations. The complex nearly tripled in size and has grown to service even more of the Tiffin University community.
Heminger Center H The latest addition to the c campus, the Heminger Center, ffeatures an indoor track and field ccomplex and a 60x50 yard turf indoor practice facility. in One major portion of the building includes an indoor track and four multi-purpose courts that will be used for basketball, volleyball, and tennis. m The other large portion has artificial turf and will be used for practices by the T TU football, soccer, lacrosse, baseball, and softball teams, iin addition to intramurals, club sports and other recreational activities. The middle section of the facility has coaches’ offices, locker rooms, ro an athletic training room, two classrooms, and a food court.
Physical Fitness Center TU also enjoys using the Tiffin University Physical Fitness Center, yet another recently expanded facility benefiting the student-athlete on TU’s ever-growing campus. The facility, which recently doubled in size, features a cutting-edge weight center that is continually upgraded with new equipment.
As Athletic Director at Tiffin University and Head Baseball Coach since 1992, I can personally attest to the fact that this is an exciting time at Tiffin University and particularly its athletic department. As a full member of the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, arguably the nation’s finest conference, it is time to make a strong commitment to excellence. I am committed to increasing the visibility and our outreach efforts of TU’s athletic department while remaining conscious of your needs and concerns. Because of this the Tiffin University Athletic Department annually holds the Tiffin University Athletic Department Golf Outing. By supporting Tiffin University Athletics through participation in the golf outing, the community assists us with this commitment and ensures our student athletes compete at the highest level. Thanks for your continued support, Lonny Allen Athletic Director Tiffin University Our Athletic Department is eager to continue our growing success. As our University and reputation continues to progress within the community, the GLIAC, and the NCAA, we want to thank you, the fans, for supporting us in our endeavors. With the generous support and funding from friends, parents, alumni, and neighbors we can continue to prosper to be an elite NCAA D-II institution. Your annual involvement with our athletic fundraising guarantees that you will be recognized and promoted as a loyal constituent of Tiffin University Athletics throughout the entire school year.
