r e s t o r at i o n c / [ 100 yr plan] RESILIENCE IS THE CAPACITY TO ADAPT TO CHANGING CONDITIONS AND TO MAINTAIN OR REGAIN FUNCTIONALITY AND VITALITY IN THE FACE OF STRESS OR DISTURBANCE. WHY NOT AIM TO CREATE A RESILIENT LANDSCAPE EVERY TIME WE DESIGN? THE REINVENTED POWER PLANT OF MORRO BAY WILL INVOLVE ADAPTATION TO THE LOCALIZED IMPACTS THAT ARE EXPECTED WITH A WARMING PLANET, INCLUDING TIDAL FLOODING EXPECTED WITH SEA LEVEL RISE AND AN ON GOING LOSS OF BIODIVERSITY. RESTORATION WILL BE EMPHASIZED ON NORTH OF THE SITE DUE TO ITS HIGHER ECOLOGICAL VALUE AS IT LIES BETWEEN TWO REMNANT ECOSYSTEMS. SAND DUNES WILL BE RESTORED, AND EXCAVATION FOR PREPARATION OF FUTURE SALT MARSHES WILL TAKE PLACE WITH A NETWORK OF CIRCULATION FOR MAN TO ENJOY NATURE. DESIGN AND FURTHER DEVELOPMENT WILL BE EMPHASIZED ON THE SOUTH OF THE SITE BECAUSE OF ITS BORDER WITH URBANIZATION. RESTORATION AND DEVELOPMENT WILL BOTH COEXIST AT THE MORRO BAY POWER PLANT GENERATING SYMMETRY OF RESILIENCY.

sa n lu i s o b i s po t r a i n stat i o n/ SITE ANALYSIS DONE FOR A 3RD YEAR DESIGN PROJECT, REDESIGNING THE TRAIN STATION IN SAN LUIS OBISPO, CA. IN ORDER TO BETTER UNDERSTAND THE SITE I CHOSE TO ANALYZE THE LOCATION IN RELATIONSHIP TO THE REST OF THE CITY, THE STREETSCAPE, MAIN ACCESS ROADS, AND THE TOPOGRAPHY OF THE SITE.
m o r ro bay wat ers h ed/ SITE ANALYSIS DONE FOR A 3RD YEAR NATURAL ENVIRONMENTS DESIGN PROJECT, “ZOSTERA.” THESE ECOSYSTEM MAPS ARE INTENDED TO ILLUSTRATE AREAS IN THE MORRO BAY WATERSHED THAT ARE MORE ENVIRONMENTALLY SENSITIVE, THEREFORE, INDICATING HOW THESE AREAS MAY NOT BE SUITABLE FOR SUSTAINABLE URBAN GROWTH.
