What is Recycled Cotton? We make beautiful, high-quality, long-lasting socks, but the best part is we are also making a difference. We are excited to have you join us on our vibrant journey towards sustainability. Solmate Socks uses textile waste as a raw material resource to make its colourful yarns, diverting those fabric scraps from landfill or incineration. By doing this we become less dependent on virgin materials and we save water, energy, CO2 emissions and toxic chemicals. But what exactly is recycled cotton? When other cotton products are made (i.e. t-shirts) there are a lot of little scraps that are created during that process. To make our yarns, those scraps are collected, ground down into raw cotton and then re-spun into new yarns in brilliant colours.
