Mindi Linscombe, owner of Something New in Colorado Springs, Colorado, knows what it is like to be disappointed as a bride. ABOUT US We are a growing nonprofit that focuses on bringing strategic solutions to the counter-trafficking movement. We find and free survivors of human trafficking by providing investigative support, covert gear, and national staff to aid local authorities in rescue operations. Currently, we operate in India, S.E. Asia, Latin America, and the U.S. In addition to working with police, we employ national social workers and support various after care projects.

We certainly understand the temptation to give business to a friend or to another store you may have already been to, especially if that store has offered to cut their price to give you a deal. And, to be blunt, there’s no point in wasting your time or ours attempting to negotiate prices; we don’t discount the price of our dresses. If you have already been to another store, and they’ve offered you a big discounted price, here are three cautions you’ll want to keep in mind: • First, any store that cuts prices must also cut and compromise the service and the quality of the overall experience they can provide at their store and that means less for you in the long run. • Second, any store that cuts their prices reveals a mind-set about how they sell. The Aisle Moment Seeing each other for the first time at the aisle was such a powerful and magical moment as we locked eyes amidst a sea of our family and friends. Taking Communion Together We wanted to take communion together at the Lord’s table as our first act as a married couple. We cried as our parents prayed over us and as we experienced the love of Jesus. We will never forget that moment. Our First Kiss EVER! We had been saving our first kiss for our wedding day for what felt like an eternity! It was definitely worth the wait and we will forever remember seeing our friends and family erupt in cheering and applause. Surprise Choreographed Dance After our first dance, we surprised our wedding guests by performing a choreographed dance to “Can’t Stop The Feeling!” It started out with just the two of us, then our wedding party joined us in the choreography, and by the end of the song all of our guests were out on the dance floor! It was such a fun and memorable way to begin the reception! Being Surrounded by Our Community and Family As we stood at the altar, our pastor invited us to turn around to soak in the sight of our friends and family there at our wedding to support us and celebrate God’s work in bringing us together. We felt overwhelmed by their love!

Location We chose Hawaii. More specifically, Maui. We were able to have a small intimate ceremony this way. Also included in the location is where we stayed; The Kuleana Resort. We had the best room with the most beautifully Oceanside manicured grounds, and is where we chose to have the ceremony. The property was quiet and had two private beaches with sea turtle encounters on a daily basis. The weather was perfect our entire stay.

Wedding Party ‘Look’
The Brides Dress was better than expected. It was perfect for me (the bride) and for where we were. I also had the best hair and makeup ladies from Maui Makeup Artistry. They did a fabulous job all around. Our little flower girls turned out cute with their boho curls and dresses. The flower girls haikus and my bouquet were very ‘Maui’ tying in the Hawaiian Island feel. We bought them at Costco and the local grocery store!

All the love! I didn’t feel any stress or anxiety because I was just so happy and felt so much love and support from everyone in attendance.

Choosing the right fit for the right body type is so important. Most men nowadays opt for the slim-fit tuxedo for a more modern and tailored look. The Traditional fit is more boxy, and then the Ultra Slim fit is the most trendy.
Shirts provide another opportunity to add character to your wedding day attire. The basic color for shirts are while and ivory, which should be based off the brides wedding dress. Microfiber material is the latest most popular material today providing a very smooth texture and feel and often many color options. The sleeve should be a little longer than your jacket to allow a little sliver of the shirt and cuff links to show.
THE JACKET The Jacket a very important piece to your tuxedo look. The build of the groom and wedding party should be one major factor on which you base your decision.

Ties come in many different styles, patterns, and colors. Bow ties are typically more classic and formal and are often a solid color. The windsor tie has become increasingly popular in recent years. Typically, the groom’s tie will match the color of the bridal gown, while the groomsmen’s will match the bridesmaids’ dresses.
POCKET SQUARES Pocket Squares are a great way to add a splash of color to your tux jacket. Many people match the pocket square with the tie they have chosen.
CUFF LINKS & STUDS Cuff links and Studs give your shirt a very polished look. The style of your wedding should be kept in mind when picking out all accessories.
SOCKS Wear long dress socks to avoid showing any skin when you sit. A lot of men these days choose the socks to express their unique style and personality with different patterns and colors.
ACCESSORIES Accessories put the finishing touches on your whole wedding day look. You may choose to have the men in your wedding wear neither a vest nore cummerbund if you are going for a more casual look.
THE TROUSERS
SHOES Shoes should be the last thing you pick out. You should only pick shoes that match once you have the rest of the tux all figured out. 44 | SOMETHING NEW
Peak lapel is most common and traditional. While the Notch Lapel is most popular, most rentals have this. The Shawl Lapel is very traditional but not the best choice for rounder bodies.
The trousers for the tuxedo jacket will be determined somewhat by the jacket you’ve selected. In general, the same style and color trousers should be worn throughout the men in the wedding party.
