Postmodernism

Postmodernism is considered one of the most influential and controversial movements in the art and design history, the cultural movement began on March 16th, 1972. Postmodernism was a drastic direct response to the Modernist utopian visions ideals of “Less is More� which was based on clarity and simplicity. However the Postmodernist believed in the ideas of radical freedom of expression in art that would often go against principles of a modernist through complexity and contradiction. Although both movements would have allowed people to experiment with a form of expression in their work, modernism would restrict their limitation due to the boundaries of following a set of principles, whilst Postmodernism there was none.
