Not important. I got around 20 sts and 20 rows after a light blocking

K2tog: Knit 2 sts together to decrease one stitch Kfb: Knit into the front and back of stitch to increase one stitch Pm: Place marker RHN: Right-hand needle RS: Right side S: Slip next stitch purlwise with yarn in front of work Sm: Slip marker WS: Wrong side Yo: Yarn over to increase one stitch and form an eyelet
Notes
The scarf is knitted from end to end. Weigh your yarn before starting to make sure you have the same amount in each ball. Work the first half of the scarf using half your yarn, then join the second ball to work the second half. The i-cord edge and lace border are both knitted with the main body of the scarf. Written instructions are in black text for the main body and green text for the border. If you’re working from the chart follow the instructions in black for the body. 1
Scarf Part 1 CO 9 sts Set-up row (WS): K3, yo, k2tog, pm, k1, s3. Row 1 (RS): K to one stitch before marker, kfb, sm, k3, yo, k2. Row 2 (WS): K4, yo, k2tog, sm, k1, p to last 3 stitches, s3. Row 3: K to marker, sm, k4, yo, k2. Row 4: K5, yo, k2tog, sm, k1, p to last 3 stitches, s3. Row 5: K to one stitch before marker, kfb, sm, k5, yo, k2. Row 6: K6, yo, k2tog, sm, k1, p to last 3 stitches, s3. Row 7: K to marker, sm, k to end. Row 8: Cast off 3 stitches (you will have one stitch on RHN), k2, yo, k2tog, sm, k1, p to last 3 stitches, s3. Repeat these 8 rows until half the yarn has been used, ending after a row 8. Join second ball of yarn. Part 2 This is almost identical to part 1, but instead of increasing (kfb) on rows 1 and 5 you will be decreasing (k2tog) instead. In other words: Row 1: K to 2 stitches before marker, k2tog, sm, K3, yo, k2. Row 2: K4, yo, k2tog, sm, k1, p to last 3 stitches, s3. Row 3: K marker, sm, K4, yo, k2. Row 4: K5, yo, k2tog, sm, k1, p to last 3 stitches, s3. Row 5: K to 2 stitches before marker, k2tog, sm, K5, yo, k2. Row 6: K6, yo, k2tog, sm, k1, p to last 3 stitches, s3. Row 7: K to marker, sm, k to end. Row 8: Cast off 3 stitches (you will have one stitch on RHN), k2, yo, k2tog, sm, k1, p to last 3 stitches, s3. Repeat these 8 rows until 9 stitches remain, ending after a row 8. Cast off loosely, and weave in ends. Block to even out stitches and open up lace pattern if desired.
