L it t le B o b b le A n g e l O rn a m e n t Designed by Julie A. Bolduc This little angel ornament is fun to make and would make a great addition to your angel collection. It starts at the head then goes to the bottom of the skirt. Then the wings are added on some skipped stitches on round 11. The halo is made last to top it off. Materials Needed Southmaid Size 10 Crochet Cotton in white. Size 7 steel crochet hook 1/2 of a cotton ball Poker Stick* Tapestry Needle Yarn Thickness: 10thread Gauge: 8sc = 1" Finished Size: 3½"h x 3" w Skill Level: Intermediate Beg Bobble, (begbl): Ch2, yo, insert hook in stitch indicated, yo, pull up a loop, yo, pull through 2 lps on hook. Yo, insert hook in same stitch, yo, pull up a loop, yo, pull through 2 lps on hook. Yo, pull through all 3lps on hook. Bobble, (bl): Yo, insert hook in stitch indicated, yo, pull up a loop, yo, pull through 2 lps on hook three times. Yo, pull through all 4lps on hook. Instructions RND 1: Head: Ch2. 8sc in 2nd ch from hook. Join w/slst to first sc. (8sc) RND 2: Ch1, 2sc in same st as slst. 2sc in each sc around. Join w/slst to first sc. (16sc) RND 3-7: Ch1, sc in same st as slst and in each sc around. Join w/slst to first sc. (16sc) RND 8: Ch1. Sc in same st as slst. Sk next st. *Sc in next st. Sk next st. Join w/slst to firsts sc. (8sc) RND 9: Ch1, 2sc in same st as slst and in each st around. Join w/slst to first sc. (16sc)

RND 13: Ch4. *Dc in next dc. Ch1. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to 3rd ch of ch4. RND 14: Slst into the first ch1 sp. Begbl, ch1, bl in same sp. Ch2. Sc in next ch1 sp. Ch2. *Bl, ch2, bl in next ch1 sp. Ch2. Sc in next ch1 sp. Ch2. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to top of begbl. RND 15: Slst into the next ch1 sp between bobbles. Begbl, ch1, bl in same sp. Ch1. Dc in each of the next 2 ch2 spaces. Ch1. *Bl, ch1, bl in next ch1 sp between bobbles. Ch1. Dc in each of the next 2 ch2 sps. Ch1. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to top of begbl. RND 16-19: Slst into the next ch1 sp between bobbles. Bl, ch1, bl in same sp. Ch1. Dc in each of the next 2 dc. Ch1. *Bl, ch1, bl in next ch1 sp between bobbles. Ch1. Dc in each of the next 2 dc. Ch1. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to top of begbl.

Slst in first ch of ch5. Dc in next ch2 sp. Bl, ch1, bl in next ch1 sp between bobbles. Ch2. Dc in each of the next ch2 sps. Bl, ch1, bl in next ch1 sp between bobbles. Ch2. Sc in next ch2 sp. Fasten off and Repeat on other side. Then weave ends into back of work. Halo: RND 1: Ch4. 11dc in 4th ch from hook. Join w/slst to top of ch4. (12dc) RND 2: Ch5. *Dc in next dc. Ch2. Rep from * around. Join w/slst to 3rd ch of ch5. Fasten off and weave ends into back of work. Stiffening: optional: I used Southmaid Crochet cotton which is somewhat stiff to work with anyway so I did not stiffen this at all but you can if you want to. I like a soft and supple angel on my tree when I make this style of Angel ornament. I did hair spray on the halo a bit though so it would keep it shape without being too stiff.

RND 20: Slst to the next ch1 sp between bobbles. Ch3, 6dc in same sp. Sc in each of the RND 10: Ch3, dc in same st as slst. 2dc in each next 2 dc. *7dc in next ch1 sp between bobbles. sc around. Join w/slst to top of ch3. (32dc) Sc in each of the next 2 dc. Rep from * around. RND 11: Ch3. Dc in each of the next 3 dc. Ch1, Join w/slst to top of begbl. Fasten off and weave *Poker Stick: use some sort of poker stick to ends into inside of work. dc in next dc, 8 times. Ch1. Dc in each of the help stuff the cotton ball into the head of the next 8 dc. Ch1, dc in next dc, 8 times. Ch1. Dc angel. I have one that was actually in my bag of Wings: in each of the next 4 dc. Join w/slst to top of ROW 1: Join thread to first ch1 sp on RND 11. polyester fiberfill. It has a narrow end that fits ch3. This is the round that you will rejoin on perfectly inside the little hole at the neck of the Ch3. Bl, ch1, bl in next ch1 sp, ch2, sc in next when you do the wings starting on the first ch1 ch1 sp, 4 times. Sc in last ch1 sp. Ch1 turn. angel. Any poker stick will do though.
