PROFESSIONAL BRANDING 2016
Main logo: To be used in a white circle on coloured or patterned backgrounds.
VISUAL IDENTITY
Previously I have just used my initials as a kind of logo for my practice. However I have seen somebody else using S.H Illustration so I didn’t want there to be any confusion. Instead, I have embraced my full name and written it with a brush and ink as this is quite reflective of my practice. As I change my mind about my work a lot, I have created a business card design that can be updated easily by simply changing the background colour or pattern.
PROMOTIONAL MATERIAL
Creating appropriate promotional material was quite difficult as I have more than one avenue of my practice. I have tried to include all three aspects of my practice into this. For example, the lettering on the logo represents my design work, the patterned background for the applied illustration aspect and stickers to represent my more personal character based work. Rather than include postcards of my work, I have chosen to include stickers because a lot of my work is intended to be made into a product in the first place.
VISUAL IDENTITY
Using the same pattern and logo on documents such as invoices, acceptance of commissions and my creative CV shows consistency in my practice and creates more of a brand identity.

ONLINE PRESENCE
As I don’t have the skills to build myself a website from scratch, I used Cargo Collective to build an online portfolio. I opted for a simple layout that gives a good overview of my work with the option to view projects more in depth or select categories. For consistency, I have used the same profile image across all social media and included my logo were possible. As my Instagram in particular is where I receive the most traffic/interaction with my work, I thought it was important to have these types of links on my website too.
