Woman Of Greek Mythology Mockups
•
My original aim for this project was to create a series of prints with the purpose of being displayed in a gallery or as decorative wall pieces. The subject of greek mythology, and mythology is general is quite popular trend at the moment how these pieces could be applied to various merchandise.

The subject of greek mythology, and mythology is general is quite a popular trend and I have considered how these print designs could be used for a range of intended purposes. After enhancing my lino prints I began to digitally mock up the designs. In using a selection of products, I have shown how the design can be applied across a variety of outlets. - By giving them context I hope that it’s clear to see how versatile the imagery can be.
Framed Woman of Greek Mythology
• This series of prints are zoomed in sections of the ‘Harpy’ design. I really like that you see the piece in a whole new light. - i didn't expect the image to work when split up this way but i think each section is strong as a stand alone composition. The close ups allow you to appreciate all the small intricate details that I put into each lino cut. - you see everything that is being depicted in the scene more clearly.
Tote Bag
 - Bringing some gradient colour to the design specifically for this purpose.
Book cover Design - One
• I decided that my greek mythology prints would make beautiful book cover designs. - I think the compositions are strong and striking and will work perfectly to convey a new and exciting portrayal of greek mythology.
• Selene is one of my favourite pieces and I used her flowing composition to create a wrap around cover design.
• Unfortunately to achieve this i had to crop the image which I didn't originally intend - but I think that there are successful qualities to this. - the details perhaps would have been too small for a book cover, so by expanding the design the intricacies are more prominent and eye-catching.
Book cover Design - One • Mocking up the design allowed me to see how the cover works on its own. - doesn't flow as well as the entire image but i think its still strong composition which eectively leads your eye to the blurb on the back.
• I think there was definitely more rearranging that needed to be done when considering the title and blurb but overall I was happy with the design.
Book cover mock up - two
• Alternate book cover design. - I was unable to produce a pattern design which contained symmetry, so i thought it would be interesting to apply this to a book design. (Symmetry is something that is commonly used in ancient Greek pattern designs)
• I’m undecided as to how I feel about the final result. - I like the use of my black to red colour scheme and gradient affect. & the arrangement is really visually striking to me, but I don't know if the unusual composition of the back to back imagery is clear enough for the audience. - can they see what the illustrations are depicting? - perhaps though this doesn’t need to be clear. from a distance its quite intriguing, and draws you in. - On a closer look the details are revealed.
