* Initial Design Ideas
for a Poster
Blanc Productions
* As the key purpose of a poster is to sell the
album, I will make the artist is presented in a similar way to the album so consumers can find it easier and buy it. * I will also make sure the font and title of the album and the artists name is clearly seen and bold, again to keep it recognisable.
*Some initial thoughts
* To link with my pop rock theme and the music video, I
will include the clown imagery within my poster. * Because of this the key colours of red, black and white like the clown makeup will be used throughout. * To work with these main colours the background will be grey. * This keeps it dark enough to relate to the rock sub genre but doesn’t take away from the main picture.
*Colour Pallet
* One idea is to link directly with my digipak
cover to keep my artist recognisable. * This means I would use a really close up shot of my artist similar to my album cover. * This also expands publicity on her face. * I would have the titles bold over her forehead for a clear view.
*Idea 1
* Linking to my inspiration posters
my artist could instead be portrayed in a longer shot. * This allows more of my artist to be shown, and as she is a stereotypical slim, pretty blonde perfect for the pop genre this is ideal. * I could experiment with more candid shots to show her as a fun person so consumers would be drawn to her and boost sales.
*Idea 2
* Looking at longer shots again I again want to
focus on her hair to link to my digipak. * Having a more structured pose to then overlay clown shots onto relates more to the pop rock sub genre. * This mystery created from the clown overlay with entice consumers to create sales.
