FINDING YOUR LIFE'S PURPOSE When I think back to my school days many moons ago, I find it incredible now to think that at the age of 14/15 I was asked to decide what subjects to study which would determine where I went academically. And then come 17, having to make decisions on university courses and locations when I hadn’t even experienced life outside of living at home! I chose a degree in psychology because I wanted to help people and was thinking about working in some form of counseling. But when I graduated at 21 – I thought ‘I have no life experience – so how can I possibly help anyone?’ Then in the blink of an eye, life took over and I got lost in a world of working to pay my bills which led me into a spiral of stress, anxiety, and eventually illness - taking me further away from what I wanted to do. When I was diagnosed with MS in 2016, I decided that my working life was over. I was struggling with dayto-day activities as a mum and homemaker, I couldn’t possibly take anything else on. I fell into a lull of depression – disappointed that I’d never made anything of my career, frustrated at feeling fatigued all the time – distraught at facing an unknown future with an unpredictable health condition.

But then, quite unexpectedly, I was drawn to a video I saw on Facebook which filled me with energy and hope and suddenly I found myself working in the world of network marketing. My excitement for life grew again as I was introduced to a world of support, empowerment, and self-development. I found myself doing things I never dreamt of – live videos, selfies, blogging about my day-to-day battles with MS and anxiety - rediscovering the passion for writing I’d had since a child. I felt good about myself again – and as my confidence grew, I attracted people into the business – ladies just like me who were looking for something for themselves.


I felt so happy and fulfilled after years of working in soul-destroying jobs - because I’d finally found something which gave me a true and deep sense of joy – helping other people to grow. I knew I needed to follow this path further and a sign from the universe took me to an ad for Marisa Peer’s school of Rapid Transformational Therapy. I had an interview with the team and it all felt so right because I could feel myself speaking with such truth, passion, and energy – like it was coming from a different place - I just KNEW this was right. When the March 2020 lockdown happened, I put everything into completing the course and virtual sessions, and at the end of last year, qualified as a Certified Hypnotherapist and Licensed Rapid Transformational Therapy Practitioner.

I launched my business in January specializing in working with people who are struggling to find their life’s purpose beyond anxiety and chronic conditions. It has been a slower start than I would have liked because of yet more lockdown, but I’ve been relaxed about it - because if there’s one thing I have learned these past few years, it’s that everything happens when the timing is right! So here I am, at 41 starting a brand new adventure that I first dreamt of at 17, but didn’t have the courage or experience to pursue – but now I have both. So, it’s never too late to revisit your dreams, rediscover your passions and lead the life that you are destined to lead – sometimes all it takes is to stop doing what you think you SHOULD be doing, go within, listen and follow that intuition!

TOP TIPS FOR REDISCOVERING YOUR PASSIONS AND FINDING YOUR LIFE PATH Think about the things that you LOVED to do between the age of 7 and 14 – this is often the time when we develop our true passions as we start to make our own way into the world. What lit you up? Excited you? Close your eyes and go back to that moment – a memory of you doing what you loved most – feel that feeling and decide that you want more of it!

Try not to be rigid in your thinking – for example, if you always dreamed of being a vet but struggled with studying and getting the grades, look at other ways that you could work with animals – volunteering at shelters, dog walking, grooming.

If it’s just not happening – stop and look at why from the perspective of ‘what do I need to learn?’ What skills do you need? What will take you to the next level?

Ask yourself – are you clear on what you want? And is your mindset and energy truly aligned with it?

Are you surrounding yourself with the right people? Block out the noise, avoid the negative opinions of others and stop comparing yourself. No one knows what’s right for you better than you! Stay in your own lane and trust your own inner guidance.

EMPATH'S SIGNS TO RECHARGE An empath is a person who takes on the emotional, mental or physical state of other people as their own. Empaths do not like engaging with a lot of people or being around them. They get drained very quickly of their energy and walk away taking on the emotions of those they just came in contact with. Empaths can pick up emotions from people they know, people they never met before, and on a collective basis. On top of that, they can also pick up the physical and mental issues of others.



When I first learned that I was an empath I felt it was a curse. In my head, I was being punished by the universe. It started with a slow downward spiral where I just wasn’t feeling anything. I was a walking zombie going through the motions. It progressively got worse until the top of the pressure cooker blew off and I was a hot mess of emotions. It felt like waves crashing down on me each emotion brought a new set of challenges. I tried to hide but even in my home I still felt it all. I figured hiding would protect me except emotions are energy in motion. Through the four walls of my house, they were felt. This went on for months until I had enough and just couldn’t handle one more uncontrollable sob session. I asked the universe for help in understanding what was going on and how to deal with it. It was then I found out I was an empath. As I look back, I realize how much I picked up that was not mine and why I was tired so much.

It made total sense to me why I love being in Nature so much. It is a balm to the empath’s soul. It helps us to release any energies we may have picked up.

Two easy tools that I created with the Universe’s help,

1~ I created the Empath Symbol. Mine is a bear. I ask the universe to show me my bear when what I am feeling does not belong to me. Pick something that you like a flower, an animal, an instrument, places, mammals, etc. 2~ Then I created the heart center intention. Imagine a gentle breeze flowing through your heart center, clearing out anything that you may have picked up that is NOT yours. Once I started to recognize my own energy, I started venturing back out in the world.

I am an extrovert who loves being around people. Hiding was hard for me. I NOW pay attention to my body, what it is telling me and when I realize it is time for me to regroup, recharge and re-energize myself. I used to ignore all the signs and kept pushing myself. What I know is pushing yourself as an empath does not work except to completely deplete your energy with the possibility of manifesting an illness.


These are the signs to recognize that it is time to be alone When you are completely exhausted, now is the time for crucial self-care. Realistically, do not let yourself get to this point. Make self-care a daily priority. Even doing so at 5-minute increments. Morning, noon and night. Some easy things to do is meditation, journaling, setting daily intentions, exercises, mindset work and finding your own inner happiness.

When you are not feeling well, do NOT push yourself. Your body is telling you time to heal and relax. Take care of yourself first.

Listen to your body when it starts telling you that you are picking up and holding onto other’s emotions,it means time to ground your energy. Do daily body meditations and feel for stagnant energy, tightness, knots or heaviness and any type of resistance. For me it was my stomach, my heart, my shoulders or throat area.

When life gets hectic, do you find yourself rushing from one thing to another without stopping to check in with yourself? You are not being present which leads to picking up more without realizing it. Stop. Breathe. Let go.

When you start to ignore your inner voice,saying SLOW down. That is a big indicator of your higher self saying time to recharge, or ground.

As time goes on you will immediately start to recognize what you need and when, which will also allow you to be around more people without taking on their emotions or challenges. Even more important the happier you are within; the easier emotions will flow through you.

self care It was Thursday morning. I woke up from the 5th night of stress-induced poor sleep and my 20th straight day of working. I went into the bathroom preparing to look at how big the dark rings under my eyes were when I noticed it. A bump on my lip. “Oh no,” I thought to myself. Not again. I was brought back to September 2020 when I got my first cold sore. It was big, hot, red, and angry. It took weeks to heal. I got the message it had for me relatively quickly. I was burning the candle at both ends. I took note and made some changes But on this particular Thursday morning, I realized that the lesson still needed addressing. Because there it was again – as if a blaring horn was telling me that I wasn’t taking care of myself. I have two businesses. First, I am an owner of a vineyard/winery in wine country, North Carolina. I am also a writer, relationship coach, and intuitive. On top of that, I have two boys, ages 11 and 7. If that isn’t enough, I am a wife to my supportive husband (one of my partners in the vineyard/winery, who also has a growing real estate business). To say that we are busy is an understatement. And the main thing that gets me through a week is my self-care practice. Flashback to 2016. I had lost myself. My youngest was just getting out of diapers. I spent all of my time on my business and taking care of my children’s needs. My container was empty, and I was a mess. I made a decision that I was going to get back to my yoga practice. I had been practicing for almost twenty years, but it was inconsistent, at best. I was only able to get in one practice a month.

This time, I decided to commit to a daily practice, and I was going to lessen my expectations about length or difficulty. A once “power yoga” lover, this was a big deal. I told myself that I was going to get on my mat for at least 5 minutes every day. I came up with a minimum practice of three sun-salutations. For sure, I could fit that in every single day. My practice helped me get to know myself again in this newly evolved form – a wife, mother of two boys, and entrepreneur. It saved me. I have done yoga (at least 3 sun salutations) every day for over 4 years. I have done it through injuries, illnesses, and hospital stays, whether I wanted to or not. The consistency gave me a place to be myself, come up with creative solutions, cry, write, gain clarity with my clients and find safety in my own mind. And yet I still ended up on that Thursday with a cold sore on my lip signaling the harsh reality that I wasn’t giving myself and my body what it needed. As busy entrepreneurs, we need to check in with ourselves on a regular basis, at least once a month (or more), and ask ourselves, “Am I taking the important time to care for myself?” Because if we don’t and we end up sick, we won’t be helpful to anyone, any company, or anything. The world needs us more than ever – the qualities of the divine feminine will take this world to the next level. But we need to be ever conscious of our own wellbeing.


What are you doing to take care of yourself? How are you filling your own container on a daily basis? How are you making sure your needs are met, first and foremost? Self-care is a sacred practice. And it will keep you healthy in mind, body and spirit as you do your work in the world. On Friday, when I figured out the message the cold sore was giving me, I made a new commitment. I am going to do my best to take at least one day off each week. Yes, my list may be extra-long the next day. And yes, I may miss opportunities. Emotional intelligence is the skill that helps you navigate your way through emotional storms, calm seas, stagnant waters and will help you lead yourself back into a safe and loving harbor of your dreams, alignment, and feminine radiance. THE POLARITIES OF HUMAN EXPERIENCE Human experience comes with both; the pleasures and pains of life. Many of us choose to bypass our full range of emotions and therefore the full human experience with it. But your

capacity to hold emotions such as sadness, frustration, anger, and rage equal your capacity to experience and enjoy joy, happiness, pleasure, and a deep sense of appreciation. Emotions are meant to flow, but very few of us have been taught emotional intelligence and therefore, we don’t know how to ride the waves of our emotions. Many of us have grown up believing that expressing and feeling emotions is not safe, it is often viewed as weak and fragile. We get told off when we cry or get taught to distract ourselves with food, sweet treats, or presents… As adults we push our feelings down, we feel ashamed when they resurface and often feel like there is something wrong with us. As a result, we numb those sensations by having a glass of wine to unwind after a stressful day, have ice cream when things are not working out or smoke a cigarette to calm down after a meeting at work, which disconnects us from our bodies even further and therefore from the guidance of our heart.

People who deliberately manifest things in their life often worry when negative emotions show up. We know that our energy matters and from fear of manifesting something ‘bad’ we tend to push our emotions down, ignore them, we pretend that we don’t feel them. But this is exactly when you need to remember that you are a human and will have 'negative' emotions from time to time, it isn’t anything to beat yourself up about. They are simply part of life. There is no such thing as bad or good emotions, they are all simply emotions. When the emotional pendulum swings too far out towards repression, it is bound to swing the other way too - far out towards expression. This is when we experience a tsunami of emotions that can feel scary. It is when you ‘hold back’, repress your feelings and ignore your inner compass when things get out of control. It’s way easier to deal with and communicate your feelings from today than to express and feel years of tears and sadness.

It is how you deal with emotions that affect your vibration and therefore your manifestations. Embrace the full human experience by acknowledging all of your emotions, but make sure you don't make it mean anything about you and about what you can achieve in life. I have made this part of my spiritual practice and I consciously choose to be more in tune with my body and its feelings.

Check-in with yourself and your body several times a day. Notice what you feel and name it out loud. Work on being more aware of your emotions and the patterns around the emotions which you find difficult to face. 'Negative' emotions are not the enemy, they are helpful in showing you where your vibration is and helping you to understand what is happening inside of you. But it is when we harbor emotional wounds and pains that we become an energetic match for them.

Water has always represented emotions and like the ocean, the native state of the feminine is to flow with great power and no single direction. She has different desires and moods which feed her radiance. In contrast, the masculine is more like a canal, as it moves in one direction. When you resist your natural flow, it becomes a battle of pushing a snowball uphill, it only gets harder and harder. When you become in tune with your body, it gets much easier to recognise what is rising within you and process it before it escalates. Think of your emotions like the ocean. Feelings come in waves; some waves may be stronger than others, but regardless of its size they will all pass. Using your emotions resourcefully is one of many ways in which you can enjoy positive inner and external transformation, a powerful alchemy and therefore manifest a life beyond your wildest dreams.

Write a note to someone you appreciate or someone who went the extra mile for you. You can even write a gratitude letter and send it in the mail. Gratitude can improve relationships and bring people closer.

We become what we focus on the most. Always speak kind words to yourself and to others. Delete all negative thoughts and replace them with powerful and empowering thoughts.

Gratitude journal: Every morning and evening write down five things you appreciate about your life or things that happened during the day. A grateful heart is a magnet for abundance and miracles in your life. When you identify all the things you are grateful for, and when you appreciate all the little things you have in your life, you will have an abundance mindset as opposed to a scarcity mindset.

Write a thank-you note or a gratitude letter:

Collage book: Take pictures or images from magazines that make you happy. Create a collage book with those images. When you’re having a difficult day, you can always take your collage book, and look at all the pictures and images in the book that make you happy. This will bring instant happiness back to your life. Scientific studies have proven that it is impossible to be happy and sad at the same time.

Gratitude jar: Decorate a clear glass jar and make it beautiful. Find a corner in your house where you will see it every day. Every morning, take a small piece of paper and write what you are grateful for, and place it in the jar. When you walk past the gratitude jar, you will immediately feel immense joy, happiness, and love.

Gratitude is simple and it’s free. Sometimes, we get so busy with our everyday life that we forget to take five minutes per day to be grateful. Shifting your mindset can increase your happiness and your overall well-being.

But if there WAS a secret, it would be that self-trust is the one thing that changes everything in your business. And hey, maybe “self-trust” sounds like some fluffy BS to you right now. Clarify Your Vision What are your business and life goals? How do you see yourself making an impact in the world and in your client’s lives? Answering these questions will deepen your commitment to yourself and your desires. Your vision is your guide to knowing what's best for you, regardless of what anyone else says is the “best” path in business. Your journey doesn’t have to look like anyone else's! Developing self-trust allows you to release the pressure of expectations and instead, give yourself permission to show up exactly the way that feels good for you. And when you’re clear on your vision, it becomes that much easier to take aligned action on the days when your fear mind is the loudest.

Take Messy Action This one is especially for us recovering perfectionists! I remember thinking as a new coach that everyone more successful than me must have everything together behindthe-scenes. I thought they must know exactly what to do every day, always have the motivation and confidence to show up, and just effortlessly float along like a magical business unicorn. Except in reality, if you’re waiting for things to feel “just right” before doing that thing you’ve been putting off, you’re probably going to wait a long time. I know from experience that we rarely feel ready. There will always be another little tweak we could make. So what’s the solution? Simple. Take messy action and figure things out along the way! There are no pass/fail grades in business. That means you get to try things out, see what works, see what feels good, and fix any “mistakes” as you go. There’s no pressure to get it all right the first time. In fact, the more willing you are to take messy action, the faster your business will grow. It’s the quickest route to building self-trust and confidence in reaching your goals.

Celebrate Every Win Social media is filled with entrepreneurs celebrating their financial success. While this is amazing and absolutely something to celebrate, I also know it can sometimes seem like money is the only milestone worth highlighting. So, how do you keep going on the days it feels like your success isn’t happening fast enough? It starts by releasing attachment to money as the only indicator of your success and choosing to celebrate every single win. You get to feel good about yourself and your work, even before hitting the financial goals you’ve set. Did your first live stream? Celebrate! Got an amazing engagement on your last post? Celebrate! Signed your first client? Celebrate! Having a bad day or didn’t hit your big goal for the month? Look back at all these wins and lean into self-trust, knowing that everything is working and moving in the right direction (even on the days it feels like it isn’t). I LEARNED HOW TO LISTEN... I never thought that one day it would become one of my biggest strengths, as a matter of fact, I thought it was a sign of weakness. Words stuck into your throat wanting to come out but instead, SILENCE and LISTEN. At a young age, I made myself believe that I wasn’t interesting enough, that what I had to say wasn’t important… I felt threatened, thinking that everyone was more interesting and that they knew more than I would ever do. So I kept quiet… In silence, listening, and learning… And there were so many times I wanted to scream out “You’re wrong! That’s not how it is!”. But at that stage, it was too late. I had made myself so SMALL to “FIT IN” in case I wouldn’t be accepted or made look like a fool.

I spent most of my life doing that, agreeing when I didn’t, saying yes when I really wanted to say no. Pleasing just for the sake of not being treated as a stranger or the crazy one… How dare would I have a different opinion? Become the black sheep? How many times have you felt like screaming out because you know you knew more than them… and still kept quiet? How many times did you roll your eyes listening to people state facts that were made up by them? How many times have you felt like shaking someone up to make them see the reality around them? Snap out of your comfort zone and look at what’s around you.

BUT..YOU KEPT SILENT...


WHEN I STARTED MY BUSINESS, THIS CARRIED ON I made myself believe that everyone out there knew more than I did. And in a way, they might have but they didn’t know how to be me. No one out there knows what’s going through my heart, mind, and soul… So no one can teach me, coach, or mentor me on how to be ME! I LISTENED to what every coach had to say, because just as before when I was young, I believe that they knew more than I did… So when one of the many coaches I worked with told me to STAND IN MY POWER, I didn’t know where to start. I didn’t know-how. I was still trying to follow their strategies, techniques and hope that shit worked. Did it?

NO,! NOT IN THE SLIGHTEST! As a matter of fact, it made me doubt even more, and become more silent and nod my face in agreement. Did anyone of them ever encouraged me to BE ME, with all my flaws, eccentricity, craziness, vulnerability… ME, NAKED AND UNCOVER! They didn’t it… They tried to teach me what worked for them and how it would work for me if I followed X, Y, Z formula, their formula. But it didn’t feel like ME… It felt forced, trying and failing and once again thinking that I didn’t have what it takes to be like them, to have their success. I know now that LISTENING is a skill and now I can STAND IN MY OWN POWER. I found a way that works for me and YOU should too.

thank you so much for being our muse this month! What was the breaking point in your life where you decided to start your own business? I was working as a counselor and public educator at a government-funded agency. I had wanted to start my own business for a while and would spend a lot of time daydreaming about what it would look like but wasn't clear on when I would take the leap and then boom! I walked into work one day and lost my job without any notice. The universe has a way of making things happen and will do what it takes when we sit in limbo. Losing that job was the best thing to ever happen to me, careerwise, and now, a decade in, I couldn't imagine not running my own business.

You teach women to know they can have it all! At what point in your personal life, did you know that was possible? I realized in my early 20's that it was up to me to create the habits that would fuel the pathway to having what I wanted. I went through a divorce at that point and became a single mother overnight. I had a lot of inner and external turmoil to overcome and one action and decision at a time I certainly did overcome it all. I started prioritizing

my self-care and got intentional about my choices and relationships. I put myself through college, was working three jobs, and began to attract magnificent people and opportunities into my life. The growth I have experienced from then to now is unbelievable. I spoke healing over my son, who lives with Erb's Palsy and BPI (something doctors said was not possible!), I manifested my soulmate husband seventeen years ago, dream clients, money, etc. Every single "unrealistic" goal I've set has been achieved and beyond my wildest dreams, and it keeps getting better and better.

Tell us ONE of your biggest dreams come reality? Pitching and getting my own TV show! I have always wanted to write books and be on television. When I was young, I'd watch talk shows with my grandmother and tell her, one day, that will be me! I'm sure she laughed it off but it has always been something I desired. Now, I not only have my own TV show, but more media is in the works and my third book was just released!


It's such a vibe! Always take action on your dreams. Nothing is out of reach! If you can see it in your mind's eye it is possible!

For someone who's still trying to figure out how the power of manifestation can change their lives, what tips would you like to share with them? I would tell them firstly, it's an individual process. The most significant piece of the manifestation process is to embody the characteristics of the person who has the things you desire. Be her now. Secondly, start playing around with visualization, meditations, journaling AS IF using I am statements, see it as yours, feel into the energy of what you want, and surrender. Release the outcome and accept that what you want wants you. Become available to receive with an open mind and heart. Don't get too caught up in the fact that it's taking longer than you want it to. Stay in the vibe, stay committed to your next level self and take action every day toward the *thing* you want with certainty that it is coming!

No, I have never thought about this stuff as woo-woo. Only Wahoo! I am and always have been deeply tapped into my intuition, and energy. I have literally created miracles in my life from a young age, so I never questioned it. What I did learn though, as I discovered the terms personal development and law of attraction was that it's a daily practice. Consistent growth and expansion are required to become an energetic match for what you want and it's totally up to you to create it. We attract what we are. What we give our energy to is what shows up in our lives. There's no denying it. I truly tapped into believing I can have it all once I got clear on what that meant for me. What are your top Manifestation techniques/tips you share with your clients? Do you use Law of Attraction? The 55 rule? I am not familiar with the 55 rule. In fact, I have never heard of it. In addition to what I said above, I believe tapping into your ability to create your best life manifesting your desires is a unique process, not a onesize-fits-all. a day in the life of Christy Primmer Every morning starts the same: up by 6 am and start with prayer, doubledose on my gratitude list, jump out of bed, put my workout clothes on, coffee and journal sesh, mindset work, then workout, shower, and do whatever I want! I have a business manager and team that keep me in check as far as business tasks, and of course client calls happen two days per week. Honestly, each day is different (I get bored really easily). Some days I'm recording media and others I am hanging out with my family. I love to cook, eat by 5:30 ish and chill out in the evening with my husband. I'm in bed by 10 pm most nights, earlier if I can be!

7 Tips for Writing Great Content

We live in a pretty technological age, don’t we? Videos, vlogs, YouTube, lives, blogs, web pages… the list could go on. While you might think there’s very little that’s actually written, the truth is, all of them require some form of written content to start. While blogs, web pages, and the like are far more obvious, even a good video should be planned out in advance. But how do you write great content? Stuff that flows smoothly, is informative, educational, or just plain entertaining? Sure, a lot of it is down to the writer, but there are hints, tips, and tricks to make sure you’re turning out the best content you can. So, in no particular order...

DON’T USE THE SAME WORD TOO OFTEN

Okay, I’m not talking about things like ‘the’ and ‘and.’ I’m talking about words like ‘advice’ used 2-3 times within a couple of paragraphs, or a phrase like ‘going to.’

I know, I know, it’s a pain in the ass. Especially if you’ve written something with several hundred words, but if you want to impress someone and you have the time, reading it out loud helps you find a LOT of mistakes. Do I do this all the time? No. But if I want to make sure I’ve gotten the majority of mistakes, I’ll read it out.

Repeating words or phrases too often interferes with the flow of the piece. A big thing is to ensure you carefully check over the manuscript before publishing. You can even use Ctrl+F to find words and see how often they appear.

I can usually find what’s wrong and figure out how to fix it by using this method. Generally, I’ll read it out loud once I’m on my final round of editing. In the earlier edits, I try to catch all the major mistakes: spelling, grammar, syntax.

BE AUTHENTIC You’re probably familiar with this one. After all, for small business owners and entrepreneurs, our main selling point is...us. How can people get to know us unless we’re authentic in everything we do? I have to admit, it takes a lot of guts to bare yourself like that the first time. You worry that no one will like who you are, or that no one will relate to you. I’m here to tell you: It doesn’t matter. There will always be people who don’t like who you are, but there are tons more who will see you and be inspired. Along the way, you may even find true freedom.

READ IT OUT LOUD

USE A THESAURUS This one isn’t as easy as you might think. If you find yourself breaking Rule #1 a lot, you can pull out the old thesaurus to find another word, but beware! Just because a word is down as a synonym doesn’t mean it’s a good substitute. All those lovely little words have their own meanings, and they don’t always translate perfectly in their new setting. Take the word ‘setting’ for example. Go to the thesaurus and you’ll get the words ‘ambience,’ ‘context,’ and ‘framework,’ among others. Do you think they can be substituted for each other without an issue? I don’t think so!

GET ANOTHER SET OF EYES That’s right! One of the best things you can do is to get someone else to read your work. After a while, you’re so familiar with the piece that you can’t see the mistakes anymore. A fresh set of eyes can spot things you just can’t see. This is why authors hire editors. Do you know how often I’ve read my own book? And every time I look at it, I find more mistakes, even though it’s a bit I’ve already gone over a million times. Seriously. Find a friend. If you can’t do that, hire an editor.

DO YOUR RESEARCH While you may be an authority on your subject, there’s always a few little things that can slip through the cracks. Maybe it’s something new you didn’t know about. Either way, a little reconnaissance is always in order. Just don’t forget to put in links. It adds authenticity, helps Google know what the article is about, and it creates trust between you and your audience. After all, it’s only the petty-minded people who try to hold onto every little thing and pretend it’s all theirs.

MIX UP THE WORDS USED TO START A SENTENCE Okay, this one might not seem too bad, but bear with me. Let’s say you’re writing something about yourself, a connection piece. You can’t start too many sentences with the word ‘I.’ It’s boring and repetitive. Instead, If you want to say ‘I love helping people achieve their dreams’ but you’ve started the last two sentences with ‘I,’ it’s time to mix it up! Try saying something more like ‘Helping people achieve their dreams has always been a passion of mine.’ You see how it changes? This applies to videos and lives as well. Seriously, take a pause and think about what you’re saying. I’ve heard a few people who, when they’re trying to think, constantly say ‘and’ and ‘so’ ALL the time. Just...pause what you’re saying and think. You don’t have to be speaking nonstop. A moment of silence is perfectly fine and vastly preferable to a long, drawn out ‘Sooooo,’ or ‘Um,’ or ‘And.’

I’ll be honest with you; this list is by no means complete. There are always more ways to create great content, but this should give you a solid start. So get out content!

PURSUING THE BIG OPPORTUNITY WITH TENACITY: THE INNER STRENGTH THAT TRUMPS ALL INNER WEAKNESS Imagine you are age 65 at your retirement party surrounded by loved ones staring at the candles on your cake: this can be a moment of great pride or a moment of great regret. Warren Buffet comments in his top secrets of business success that (paraphrased), “Most entrepreneurs focus on the wrong kind of regret, they avoid taking even small risks because they may potentially lose their company a little money or a little prestige, while the greatest regret they should avoid stems from inaction: Not pursuing the opportunity that would bring the richest rewards to their growth as both individuals and business owners. The biggest mistake is being unwilling to make one." Whether it is at age 65 or a month from now, there is a day down the road when you will ask yourself if you pursued the “Big Opportunity” or if you let it pass by. As an entrepreneur, your Big Opportunity or Dream is something that would require you to develop yourself to the furthest extent in order to help many people improve their lives, the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity with the highest degree of both risk and reward.

As an entrepreneur, your success and happiness are tied to your willingness to make positive changes and solve problems for other people through the vehicle of your business or organization which requires risk. At a certain point, you must simply decide to pursue your Big Opportunity with outright tenacity. In science tenacity is defined by a mineral’s resistance to breaking, bending, or cutting… exactly the strength and integrity that is needed to reach for success and get your unique solution to the group you are most passionate about serving. There will always be more reasons to not do exceptional things than to reach for them and the deciding factor is which voice you heed from within: the fear of failure is the voice of your personal weaknesses that tell you to shrink from all risk and uncertainty while tenacity is the voice of your inner strengths that tell you rightly: “Your dream is worthy of any sacrifice; your resolve, your work, and your potential are stronger than any opposition you face…If you grow yourself to the size of your dream (or Big Opportunity) all obstacles and personal weaknesses will be dwarfed.”


5 WAYS TO GROW YOUR TENACITY Decide to take one small risk each day. Replace the word “failure” with “experience”.

Set mini-goals that specifically release you from negative, fear-based “holding patterns” that prevented success in the past. Maybe learn a new skill that breeds confidence, get engaged with other entrepreneurs in a similar field, and accept help from an accountability buddy or mentor.

Pick a hero that strongly overcame a personal obstacle to get successful and help others.

Commit to the long-view of reaching your big goal. Judge yourself positively for being on the right trajectory and keep learning to grow yourself to the size of your goal.

If you allow the voice of fear (your inner weaknesses) to dictate your actions, you may shrink from challenge until over time your confidence is such that anything can stop you whereas, if you allow tenacity (the voice of your inner strengths) to dictate your actions you can over time grow to the size of confidence and success where nothing can stop you. So heed the voice of tenacity from within you, seek the “Big Opportunity” in your business right now, commit your time, focus and energy to the plan that will enlarge you and your customers to the fullest, something you would be proud to hold up and share with the world so that whether it is one month from now or in decades at your retirement party, you will know with surety that it is a happy event to reflect on your career and life’s work because you will look back at your personal journey of tenacity and see the countless people you helped- And have no regrets. UNTETHERED I left work on Friday looking forward to the weekend the same as I usually did .Saturday was the usual cleaning and shopping, takeaway for dinner, a bottle of wine and a relaxing night in front of the TV.

When I woke up on Sunday I felt horrible, I couldn’t get out of bed and was convinced I had picked up a bug, and that was how it started! I was off work for a week before I went to see my doctor. She diagnosed a virus which when combined with my fibromyalgia had absolutely floored me. It took weeks to get back on my feet but when I did, I agreed with my boss that I would continue to work from home on the big project that I had been working on, with documents being sent to me at home, and online calls it was working fine. Till the day I got a call from a third party who I had worked with for a long time “Are you ok?” he asked. I responded that I felt just the same and asked why. He told me that he had been called in by my company to be told that my doctor had insisted that I could no longer work as it was affecting my health. That was a lie and there were many to follow,

By the time we went our different ways, I was so glad to be out of that company, especially when someone stole the collection that the staff had done for me was stolen along with the card and all the comments on it. How low can someone stoop? That was the start of my annus horribilis. My father passed away while I was in Dubai, my husband dislocated his shoulder and the operation to fix it caused more damage than it fixed, my health continued to deteriorate and my daughter left home to go to university. I was home alone with poor health and no job. At the age of 54, with no other options, I set up my business doing the same kind of work as I had in the corporate world, without thinking about it and it failed dismally. Yes, I did get some work but it was sporadic and there was much more money going out, than was coming in. I then set up a writing business, doing freelance work, spending long hours for jobs I got paid very little for. My one glass of wine every other night, turned to one every night then two and then three.

I tried to get help but everyone out there was half my age and no life experience. I knew I needed help, I just couldn’t find it! Eventually an acquaintance, who for some reason I opened up to, was there to help me get back on track. That was when I set up my writing business, but every now and then I would wonder why there wasn’t any support for older women. As we get older we have different kinds of issues, we lose our confidence, we lose our identity, we face the menopause, the loss of elderly parents, facing an empty nest. So in 2019 I decided I was going to be there for those women and The Reignited Woman was born. I spent 2019 brushing up on the things I had learned at University, became a Life coach, a Life Purpose coach and an NLP Master practitioner and in January 2020 I started my business. I share my story to help the women understand that age is not a barrier and that they can achieve anything you want to irrespective of your age. At the age of 60 I run two businesses, I am a Trustee of a local charity, a non executive director for a local community development trust and I volunteer. Age is only a number it is not a predetermined lifestyle.

AVOCADO, TOMATO & LIME

Method STEP 1 Cook the pasta according to pack

Ingredients

mix well. STEP 2 Drain the pasta, toss into the bowl and mix well. Serve straight away while still warm, or cold.

CAULIFLOWER & SQUASH FRITTERS WITH MINT & FETA DIP Ingredients 100g gram (chickpea) flour 1 tsp turmeric 1 tsp ground cumin small bunch coriander , finely chopped (optional) oil , for shallow frying 150g natural yogurt 1 garlic clove , crushed 75g vegetarian feta , mashed 2 tbsp finely chopped mint pitta breads and salad, to serve For the roast cauliflower & squash base 1 cauliflower , split into florets, the stalk cut into cubes ½ large butternut squash , cut into cubes 1 tbsp oil

Ingredients 75g bulghar wheat 1 tbsp rapeseed oil 2 onions , chopped 4 garlic cloves , chopped 2 carrots , coarsely grated 1 large red chilli , deseeded and finely chopped 1 tsp cumin seeds 1 tbsp ground coriander 30g pack coriander , stalks and leaves chopped but kept separate 1 lime , zested, 1/2 juiced, 1/2 cut into 4 wedges 2 x cans chickpeas , drained 2 large eggs 2 tbsp white miso paste For the slaw ½ small white cabbage , shredded 1 red onion , halved and thinly sliced 2 carrots , shredded (ideally with a julienne peeler) 1 pomegranate seeds only 2 tbsp chopped mint 1 tbsp cider vinegar 1 tbsp extra virgin rapeseed oil

METHOD STEP 1 Heat oven to 180C/160C fan/gas 4. Toss the cauliflower and squash in oil and spread it out on a large oven tray. Roast for 25 mins, or until tender. If you're making the base ahead of time, you can leave it to cool at this stage then freeze in an airtight container for up to a month. (Defrost fully before using in the next step.) STEP 2 Put the flour in a bowl and gradually stir in 125-150ml water to make a batter as thick as double cream. Stir in the turmeric and cumin and some seasoning. Break up the cauliflower and squash a little and mix it gently into the batter. Add the coriander, if using.

STEP 3 Heat a little oil in a frying pan and when it is hot, drop 2 heaped tbsps of the mixture into the pan, spaced apart. Fry until the fritters are dark golden, about 2-3 mins each side. Remove, keep warm and repeat with the remaining batter. STEP 4 Mix the yogurt with the garlic, feta and mint. Serve the fritters with the mint & feta dip, some salad and pitta breads.

MISO BURGERS WITH

MINT & POMEGRANATE

SLAW

Method STEP 1 Heat oven to 220C/200C fan/gas 7. Cook the bulghar in a small pan of water for 5 mins. Meanwhile, heat the oil in a large non-stick frying pan and fry the onions and garlic, stirring, for 5 mins or until starting to turn golden. Add the carrots and chilli, and cook, stirring frequently, for 5 mins until the carrots soften. Add the cumin, ground coriander, coriander stalks and lime zest, and stir well. STEP 2 Tip the chickpeas into a bowl and crush with a masher or fork, then add the eggs and miso to form a chunky paste.

STEP 3 Drain the bulghar well and stir into the spicy vegetables. Take off the heat, shape into eight burgers and place on a baking sheet lined with baking parchment. Bake in the oven for 15-20 mins or until firm and starting to turn golden. STEP 4 For the slaw, combine all the ingredients in a big bowl with the lime juice and coriander leaves. Serve with the burgers and lime wedges for squeezing over.
