UNCHAIN 20

r u o y in en! e v e e u i l Be wer Q Po

Just like most people, I once was living a life with no purpose and no meaning, I was lost, I didn’t know who I was anymore or what was I supposed to do with my life. I was working a job with the only purpose to pay my bills, and if I was lucky enough to have something left over, go on a one time holiday; I was living in autopilot, everyday the same thing, the same routine, the same “ol, same “ol… Thinking that it had to be more to life than this! Does that sound familiar?

Now, is my life passion, and the women who form part of this magazine, to teach others to do the same, embrace their own power and uniqueness. UNCHAIN your inner strength, is about finding your voice, finding who you are, finding your skills, your dreams, your desires… Live the life that you deserve to live! Each and everyone of our incredible experts share their most valuable tips and advice to help you on your journey to make your wildest dreams come true.

For a long time I thought it was impossible for me to do something different, mostly because I was afraid, I thought I wasn’t worth enough and I didn’t have what it takes to do something that actually made me happy and gave an income that could replace that job that I so much disliked.

They all have helped me make this dream come true; since the moment I started to read, I wanted to create my own magazine and thanks to their love and support, this is finally happening. I am 40 years young now, and life has just began once again! Let your inner child come and play, let it shine in its splendor and grace… Magical things happen when you start believing in yourself.

As I embarked in my journey to self development, I rediscover things about myself that I been hiding for a long time, talents and skills that I forgot I had; and through this discovery I learned that no matter what happened in my life until this day, I had the power to create the future that I wanted for myself, all I had to do was to get out of my own head and out of my comfort zone and start becoming the person I needed to be in order to achieve what I wanted to achieve.

Love, Light, BE Maria. XXX

the perfect eyeshadow for your eyes Hey beauties! One of the things that I get asked a lot for, is advice on choosing eyeshadows and how to use them. So,thiis month, I thought I would do a quick guide to selecting shadow shades which will make your eyes pop - and some

tips

for

perfect

It’s all in the eyes…

Choosing the right colour eyeshadow can either enhance your eye colour or muddy it. An easy way to find out what would be most flattering is to look at a colour wheel – find your eye colour - the colours that sit next to it and directly opposite it on the wheel are the ones that will really make your eyes stand out! Obviously you probably aren’t going to wear yellow eyeshadows (although I do love a bold primary colour!) – but look at tones, rather than the actual colour – so more like golds and champagnes. Likewise, with reds – think burgundy, deep pinks, mauve and rose browns for green eyes. Here’s a quick guide to get you started…

|

Blue

Warm

browns,

terracotta, golds, bronze and champagnes all make blue eyes pop. For a bolder vibe, choose burgundy and purple tones to make your eyes sparkle. Brown eyes Brown eyes can pretty much rock any colour! But soft blues, greens and teal tones

will

really

make

them

stand out. Use soft pinks and lilacs for a striking contrast. Green/hazel

How to select an Eyeshadow Palette? The reason I LOVE the Younique palettes are that instead of having the usual set colours in a tray – you choose the colours that go into them! So no more half-used shadow palettes gathering dust in your dresser drawer because you loved two of the gorgeous neutral shades - but you’re not so sure about the other six (I’ve been guilty of that for sure, anyone else?!) Four colours are all you really need for the perfect eye look. For the most flattering effect, the idea is that the colour graduates from light (at your brow bone), to get gradually darker along the outer edge of your eye. And while sometimes all out smokiness is called for, generally using a lighter shade on your lid is most flattering.

Need a Quick Look ON THE GO? Liquid eyeshadows are perfect for make up on the run – simply apply to your lids with your finger or applicator, smudge into your crease – and hey presto – eyes done! They are great for lips and eyes too! Choose a warm matte shade for effortless chic or go glam with a striking metallic.

And finally..think browns are boring? Think again! A lot of ladies say that they use brown eyeshadow shades a lot as they are afraid to experiment with colours - but brown doesn't have to be boring! Adding peach and orange tones, or copper or bronze metallics can take those browns to a whole new level! And they are bang on trend this autumn!

Hope that helps ladies! But if you would like a full, tailor-made colour consultation, just drop me a line and I’ll be happy to help you out!

I’m Jen, if you’ve read any of my previous articles, you know I’m a homeschooling mama to 3, an avid traveler and a lover of Holistic Health & Energy work. Often people ask me how I do it all! They ask what my secret is because I do so much. I take care of me, my family and 3 businesses. I cook 95% of our meals, I go to my kiddos sports and make time to study as I’m determined to always be learning something new. My answer is always this; I guess I just play with time! Haha. I don’t feel as though I do more than anybody else, because I’m not comparing, I let that model go a long time ago. I’m just ME doing what I can with what I’ve got for me and my family! All joking aside, I truly don’t feel as though I’m doing that much…well ok, sometimes I do feel that way, but most of the time I don’t! A few years ago I decided that I was done living in the hamster wheel that I had known as my reality. I was a hot mess to say the least. I actually had less on my plate back then, but I was barely keeping my head above water. My days were ridden with anxiety and stress and way too many breakdowns. I was always running after time it seemed and never quite getting enough. I was stuck in a “poor me” mentality, always wondering why I had to do it all, but never seemed to succeed. Insert the hard work that I had to do within; personal development, multidimensional healing, mindset work, etc… Now I’m on the other side, and it feels great! One of the biggest things that I’ve done is to do the deep inner work and continue to do so on a daily basis. This isn’t something that you do once and are forever done. It’s something we get to do over and over every day, adjust as we go in order to make it work. My workouts, meditations and journaling/gratitude sessions are nonnegotiables that get to happen first thing in the morning. I used to think it was a “waste” of time because I had so much to do. In reality this sets the tone for my day, it allows me to set my intentions and build upon them. It allows me to get to work and life with a peaceful mind and an open heart. I’m glad to report that I’ve exited the rat race and that I’m now doing things that truly bring me joy, on my terms. Sometimes stress still creeps in, but I’m really good at seeing it come a mile away and now have the tools to keep it in check. I get to do more in one day and truly feel fulfilled.

I get to help women on a daily basis and sometimes…just sometimes, when I have those moments where I wonder “what the hell am I doing”, I have someone give me a response. I get a message from a client or just someone who’s in my circle thanking me for showing up so that they can too! I get to be present in each and every moment whether it be in one business or the other or for myself or my family. I no longer put the pressure of perfection upon my shoulders. I strive for progress every day and if something on my list doesn’t get done, I know there’s always tomorrow. I’ve reorganized my priorities and really found a rhythm that works for me.I’ve created a reality that I no longer desire to hide from or run away from. I am truly happy with the world. I’ve created and when something doesn’t feel in alignment anymore, I change it because I can. You see, once I came to the realization that there wasn’t ONE way to do things, that I could in fact create my own, life changed dramatically. Once I identified the things I could release and not push myself to do anymore, once I stepped up fully into all that I desired and no longer held back, life & business changed for me. I no longer chase time because I honestly believe that all happens exactly as it should and if it didn’t happen today then it will happen tomorrow. I’ve also gotten really good at my scheduling skills! Haha. I get the things that are marked urgent out of the way first thing during the day and then move down the list. If you’re reading this and feeling overwhelmed by life or your business, take a deep breath and a step back.

|

29

|

HERE ARE MY TIPS FOR YOU: #1 Make sure to always start your day with YOU time! Whatever helps you feel good and sets the tone for your day, do that and make it YOUR non-negotiable! #2 Re-evaluate your priorities #3 Release all that is no longer in alignment with your desires #4 Take a look at things with a different perspective #5 Stop putting so much pressure on yourself for not getting it all done! If the house isn’t on fire and nobody will die from the task not getting accomplished, do it tomorrow. #6 Write down a schedule you feel good with and stick to it until it becomes your norm #7 Delegate! If anything doesn’t feel good, delegate the task to someone who may enjoy it #8 Re-evaluate again…if you try one thing and it doesn’t work, then try another and another until it does. Every day is a new opportunity for change! Life and business can be hard, but it can also be beautiful! Allow everything to arise with ease and grace and allow it all to flow! When you get to that space where you are in full alignment, it always does. If I was able to turn my chaotic and nerve racking world into what it is now, anybody can do it! So don’t throw in the towel, instead, just readjust! If you’re wondering how you get to implement some of this in your life, and would like some support or just someone to talk to, feel free to reach out! jen@jengagnon.rocks Love & light, Jen Gagnon |

We are so intrinsically wise and connected to our soul purpose that these truths are worldly truths passed down from one generation of Powerful women to the next. But the beauty is, you might read something here today that just clicks with you at exactly the right time! That’s my wish for you my soul sister! Not that you hear something new, but that your soul resonates with the echoes of the ancient wisdom you are about to read.

Let’s take a closer look at that woman you are becoming or perhaps holding back on. What’s the true meaning of rising up, peeling back the layers, remembering how powerful and fierce you are, and unleashing it to the world?

18 months ago I found my old life crumbling down around me. I was sitting here literally holding my new born baby in my arms, as she nuzzled into my breast, catching a breath between the constant demands from my 3.5 year old daughter. I was observing just how deeply fulfilled I was as a woman, and my maternal instinct, but so far apart from where I wanted to be professionally.

I felt the call to own my message and share my voice with the world many moons ago, back at the tender age of 11...I still vividly remember being moved to write powerful words, seeing myself in years to come speaking on stage waking people up to what’s REALLY possible in life. As a more evolved woman of the world now, getting kicked in the teeth a number of times, knocked down, dragged through the dirt and all the proverbial stuff which has ultimately led me to clearly see my mission which is:“To empower women, especially mums to what’s REALLY possible online when you have the right tribe around you, and the right gameplan for you, in front of you daily.”

Many people would say;” just take the time off and chill, be a mum and worry about it later!” But let’s stay real here. It wasn’t that easy! I had bills to pay, loan repayments to meet, debt collectors to keep at bay, and all kinds of tremendous pressures on my shoulders other than two small girls relying on me for their wellbeing. My Network Marketing business waa falling apart at the seems as I no longer felt any connection with it or the people. I’d shifted and couldn’t bring myself back into alignment with the rhetoric.

I had to learn this costly and painful lesson along the way but my wish for is you don’t, or at least you get to shorten the learning curve. Everything we go through is for a reason, but we will keep having to learn that lesson until it’s fully integrated and we’ve actually learnt enough from it to change the direction of our decision making and daily actions as a consequence.

My partner is simply the best, he’s such a wonderful, loving Dad doting on his girls and I, providing for us like no other! But he is capped, he’s in a soul sucking job, with capped potential to grow and a salary that gets reduced rather than increasing.

I know you are driven; salivating at the mouth at the possibilities of what you can do, become and achieve to help the universal sisterhood rise!

I’m an entrepreneur and always have been. I guess it’s in my DNA!

I know you hear the deep soulful echo of your mission here on earth.

I felt the call to own my message and share my voice with the world many moons ago, back at the tender age of 11...I still vividly remember being moved to write powerful words, seeing myself in years to come speaking on stage waking people up to what’s REALLY possible in life.

You are talented, highly creative, probably incredibly coachable and pretty organised, but..

Do you have a personalised gameplan for bringing that idea to full creation, funding and execution?

Let’s get clear for a moment on the deeper meaning of WHY you want your business idea to be a raving success. Can you fully comprehend the level of impact, the deep vibrations of the ripple effect of you hitting your biggest income goal in the next 12-24 or 36 months? You probably can’t fully fathom it, as much as you get goosebumps, you can’t fully grasp the true effect of influencing hundreds, thousands and millions of other women and their families just by you showing up as the greatest version of you every day henceforth until you are fully living your dream! That’s the kind of magic reserved for us when we hit that sweet and juicy spot in our timeline if we stay focused on why we are here to empower and create deep impact. I want you to grab your journal after completing this article and journal on a few of these questions. Plus, make sure you stick around to the end to get the “30 days of Free journaling prompts to Full Personal Empowerment. ”Golden ticket Question:Who besides you gets to be impacted by your success, by you going for your dreams? Is it your daughter who’ll have a “better life” or is it the fact that she will get to share the knowledge, certainty, and blueprints around women in business, conscious wealth creation and personal empowerment with her kids, and communities at large when it’s her turn? Is it that your mum, sisters and friends will watch you in awe and begin to start doing 1 or 2 of the things you share, small or large and soon be living a richer, more balanced daily life in alignment with their soul’s purpose, even if they don’t actually use that verbiage because their levels of influence are actually much different to yours, but they do pick up on your energetics, on the frequency and abundance codes with which you live each moment of your life now? How would you speak, FEEL, act and show up if you were showing up from your highest self daily? What would your days look like, your content on social media and your conversations with friends? How will the decisions you make today influence your life in 2-3 years from now? Are they congruent with your ideals?

UNCHAIN: Andreah, you have done a multitude of different jobs in your life, can you tell us how they influenced and help in any way into what you currently do?

ANDREAH: Every job has influenced my work in some way. They are all a part of the life experience that informs who I am today. Yes, even that one summer I spent five floors below the earth in a garage painting parking meters! A huge part of what I do is inspiring people to tell their story in a way that also inspires others. Every life is a story. I work with authors who are ready to share their story with the world. Another aspect of what I do is inspiring people to go for their big ideas no matter what age they are. If I only have this life to live in this moment as I am today than I’m going to go for it! I think everyone should go for it. Just because you decided to be a project manager when you were 19 doesn’t mean you have to be one when you’re 40. Change, evolve, grow… it’s what we’re all here for.

UNCHAIN: Do you believe that our life experiences define us or build us for a better self? If yes, what are the main experiences that led you to take charge of your own life? ANDREAH: For the first 3.5 decades of my life I was a dancer. It defined me. It was all I wanted to do. I went from being a student, to being a choreographer and performer, to researching and writing about dance as a graduate student, to being a dance/movement therapist. I loved dance… until one day I didn’t love it as much as I used to. I mean… I’ll always love dancing. My solo kitchen dance parties are epic! But I didn’t want it to be my “job” anymore. This was hard. Losing the thing that I thought defined me as a human being made me feel lost, hopeless, and in all honesty, very depressed. I floundered for years. And then finally I found the missing piece. It was the thing I had been doing all along: writing. I’ve always been a writer I just didn’t allow myself to really admit it. I thought I wasn’t good enough. I thought I couldn’t make money at it. It turns out I was wrong.

The big lesson here: I was the only one holding myself back. And now I get to dance for fun and to help shake my brain up when I have writer’s block.

UNCHAIN: If you could go back in time, would you advice yourself to do anything differently?

ANDREAH: Actually, nothing. I think life happened exactly as it should’ve. It wasn’t all easy and it wasn’t all fun and I’ve certainly failed, but I got through it and I made this life mine in my own creative way. I feel that I did the best with what I had at the time, every time. Every aspect of who I have been throughout this life informs who I am today. And while I don’t always like myself, (because as hard as I try sometimes I am super hard on myself) I do love myself. In the end, it’s the love that matters!

UNCHAIN: You are a ghost writer but you also coach women into build confidence and self esteem... How dis one thing led to the other? ANDREAH: I am a ghostwriter and have been for the past two years. But in the last eight months I’ve felt that something from my past self was missing. When I was a dance/movement therapist I loved working with groups of people. I loved bringing people together in a shared moment. And so I started the Big Blue Sky Academy (BBSA). I run programs for people who want to go for a big idea but need some support throughout the process. The program is workshop style, and so we meet once a week in small groups to hash out our ideas.

"Creativity is and has always been the one thing in this crazy world that makes sense to me."

As a ghostwriter, I work alongside authors to fulfill their desire to write a book, and with the BBSA I establish a positive environment for all sorts of dreams to be realized. It’s a ton of fun!

UNCHAIN: What is the one thing or things that you like most about what you do? ANDREAH: All the things!!!! Okay, but in all seriousness, if I have to pick one it is having the opportunity to be creative every single day. Creativity, whether it is in dancing, writing, painting, problem solving, or idea development makes me happy. Creativity is and has always been the one thing in this crazy world that makes sense to me. UNCHAIN: Could you share some tips for people who are still trying to find their soul purpose? How? Where? ANDREAH: Let go. Don’t over think it. Don’t stop yourself from trying new things. It’s never too late. It’s never too early. Sometimes your soul purpose changes, that’s okay. You have everything you need right now to just start. Have fun!

UNCHAIN: You've written a book and published it yourself as well... How was your experience? What tips can you share for entrepreneurs who want to write a book?

ANDREAH: My experience was a good one! The book I published was an initial test and it was just a short e-book. I learned a lot about the way in which I want to publish and am looking forward to publishing my first full length book that will be available as an e-book as well as hard copy. I am going to try going through Kindle Direct Publishing this time around, rather than IngramSpark.

UNCHAIN: What projects are you working on at the moment? Inspire us! ANDREAH: Currently I am working on a few things: 1. 2. 3. 4.

5 client books My own book The Big Blue Sky Academy Having as many solo kitchen dance parties as possible!

UNCHAIN: What was your biggest challenge so far in your journey as an entrepreneur? The reason why I ask this, is because not many people share the inside and outs, and for that, new entrepreneurs tend to fall into the comparison game and go into a negative mindset about themselves and their abilities to succeed. ANDREAH: My biggest challenge as an entrepreneur so far is finances. I get excited about all the projects and I want to do them, even if they don’t pay well. The problem with this way of thinking is probably obvious to everyone reading this sentence: If you’re not getting paid for your work it is a hobby and not a business. One of the ways in which I’ve begun to work on this is to come up with 3 non-negotiables when taking new clients: 1. The pay must be reasonable. 2. The deadline must be reasonable. 3. I will take a deposit, collect a portion once the rough manuscript is done, and then full payment is due once the final edit is complete.

ANDREAH BARKER My tips for entrepreneurs who want to write a book:

1. Just start writing. (Well okay… you may want a rough outline to start, but don’t get stuck here.) 2. Don’t make the book too precious, or you’ll never finish it. Always remember that you’re not limited to writing one book. 3. If you go the traditional publishing route, don’t be discouraged by the rejection letters. Just keep trying! 4. Always, always, always hire a copy editor.

UNCHAIN: If you could share something that you wished someone else would have shared with you when you first started... What would that be?

ANDREAH: Hmmmm… I think it would be to not listen to everyone on the internet. There are so many people who appear confident and seem to have all of this amazing knowledge to share. I fell down a few too many rabbit holes in the beginning. I didn’t lose money but I did lose a ton of time. I spent hours learning about Pinterest and built my viewing to 2.5 million only to see no sales or even leads come my way. Same thing with Facebook groups. I met a ton of great people and learned a bunch about the coaching industry but again… no sales. Choose where you want to spend your time carefully. It is the most valuable thing you possess. Guard it with your life!

5. It’s not hard to self publish, there is so much information out there for you to learn from. 6. Get a designer for the cover and format of the book. 7. A coach or ghostwriter will help you get the book finished. 8. Sell something with your book. Don’ t be shy. Tell people what you do, why you do it, and how they can access more of your work.

How do I find my clients? Honestly, I started with a mentor who was doing what I wanted to be doing and she generously shared her knowledge with me and then hired me to help her with a project. From there it has mostly been word of mouth and referrals, with a few coming from LinkedIn and Instagram. The following advice may not work for everyone, but it did for me: Meet with real people! Go to networking events. Get a mentor who does what you want to do. Nurture your connections.

"Travel isn’t always pretty. It isn’t always comfortable. Sometimes it hurts, it even breaks your heart. But that’s okay. The journey changes you; it should change you. It leaves marks on your memory, on your consciousness, on your heart, and on your body. You take something with you. Hopefully, you leave something good behind.” -ANTHONY BOURDAIN

TO TRAVEL OR SETTLE DOWN… IS NOT THE QUESTION ARTICLE BY NADYA SIAPIN, TRAVEL BLOGGER

To travel or settle down…No, this is never the question, not for some people. Why can’t we just accept the fact that we’re all different, that we all have different aims and goals in life? For some of us, that means experiencing as much of the world as thoroughly as we can.

To Travel or Settle Down… Hah! How can I settle down in one place when there’s so much to see, experience, learn, explore? How could I possibly live it in a week here, a week there? What I want is to immerse myself in the culture. Months…a year…perhaps that will be enough. But how can I bring myself to settle down when everywhere I look, I see so much potential? Travel or settle down? How is that even a question?

I could stay in Alaska! I’ve seen the summer, the Midnight Sun, the expanse of green, the flowing rivers and lakes. I could find out what life is really like in the winter. Sub-zero temperatures, parkas, constant darkness, the Aurora Borealis… Frozen car doors, plugging cars in overnight, breathing freezing air, skiing, sledding, or snowboarding. Hot drinks, early evenings, thick, fuzzy sweatshirts. All of these are things I can see happening if I stay for the winter. Along with the usual rounds of not wanting to get out of bed, go to work, and sleeping all weekend, of course.

Once upon a time... Learn to embrace the awkward, acknowledge that the ‘Instagram Look’ is fake. Instead, be YOU! Awkwardness used to be an embarrassing part of my everyday life. I felt like if I put a toe out of line everyone saw and judged me. I’d get embarrassed, and so many people had to ‘helpfully’ point out the fact that I have fair skin and the slightest bit of redness just glowed off me. Like, I know I’m red, dammit! I can feel it! But they got pleasure out of my discomfort, so it was in their best interests to keep me feeling that way. Critiquing my differences, only approving conformity, life sucked around people. For them, to travel or settle down wasn’t the question either. You should by all means settle down, as soon as possible, and travel as little as possible. Settling down does have it attractions. You get a routine, regularly see people you know and love. Watch the kids growing. It sounds idyllic. I think it is, if it’s your dream. The problem occurs when people try to make that the default. When they try to squish everyone into the same mold. That’s why travel was so important for me. It gave me time, and space. I shook off all those old expectations, and found…myself. Travel shouldn’t be used to hide, or run away from your problems. Those issues will still be there when you get back from your trip. Instead, when people talk about the transformation travel can bring, it’s because you stepped out of your comfort zone. You spent some quality time with yourself. You learned more about who you are, what you want. Maybe you’ve found the strength to choose and work toward who you want to be.

Travel or Settle Down? Screw the question. Just do whatever it is that lets you be the weirdo you were always meant to be.

WHAT I WISH I D KNOWN WHEN MY ENTREPRENEURIAL JOURNEY BEGAN ’

BY AMANDA ROSE

In 2013 I quit my job, with no plan, and very little in the bank. All I know at that time was that I could no longer face working jobs that didn’t light me up and bring me joy. Within a month of quitting my job I started working a home business doing network marketing; it was for a company that I’d been a customer of for 10 years, lost 138lbs with their products, and therefore knew I could stand behind. By the time I started as an entrepreneur I’d already had years of sales experience, and I was also accustomed to fluctuating pay checks because I’d spent the year prior on pure commissions. Nonetheless, moving into the online space was a massive learning curb. After years of avoiding social media suddenly I needed it to build my business. So, what happened? I failed. Over and over and over again. I put up gross salesy posts, I cold messaged people [this is where you pop into someone’s inbox with a sales pitch], I pretty much begged, pleaded, and tried anything I could think of to try to make a sale. I’m sharing this with you because I think we all need to hear that part of people’s journey’s more often; successful people failed a lot in the beginning to get to be successful -and- continue to fail as they keep expanding and learning.

Through all of the failing I went through, there were three important things happening:

I persevered. I never gave up.

I learned from every failure; if something didn’t work I investigated it to understand why, and I didn't repeat the same mistakes twice. I kept learning, growing, and adjusting my strategies which built up my skills. Some of the things I tried were successful. I noted what was working so I could keep using it.

"I LEARNED ALL ABOUT THE LAW OF ATTRACTION, MANIFESTATION, AND MINDSET." In my first month, putting in long hours every day, I

3 signs you are Overgiving in your Relationship Giving is beautiful. Overgiving is not. Overgiving is simply that – giving too much. Highly sensitive people and empaths tend to be overgivers. So do women (both our genes and society encourage us to overgive). When we give too much to others, we deplete ourselves. For our close relationships to feel good (and for us to feel good!), they need to be reciprocal; that is, our relationships are most satisfying when they’re largely balanced between giving and receiving.

Before talking or seeing someone, how do you feel? Do you feel excited? Do you feel dread? If you feel dread (uneasiness, nervousness, discomfort, hesitation) repeatedly with the same people – you’re likely overgiving. Ask yourself, what’s inspiring you to keep up with people you dread seeing? Of course, we can’t stop seeing everyone we feel hesitant interacting with (like our supervisor or a certain family member), but you can look for ways to decrease the frequency you see them and the amount of time spent with them.

Do you feel resentments towards others? The best definition I’ve heard of resentment is to “re-feel.” If you’re replaying conversations in your head, wishing you’d responded differently, as well as feeling negative emotions, these are resentments. It’s OK to replay a conversation once, maybe twice, and to think about how you’d like to respond differently in the future - this helps us grow. But when you’re spending a ton of time having conversations in your head (or worse – arguments) with others, it’s time to look at resentments. Another clue you have resentments – you keep score. Does “I paid last time, she better pay this time” sound familiar? Keeping score doesn’t always have to do with money. If you find yourself keeping score and remembering exactly who said what 10 years ago, your energy is being sapped by resentments.

After you've talked to someone, how do you feel? Energetic or drained? If you feel drained (depleted, exhausted) repeatedly with the same people – there’s a good chance you’re overgiving. You might be so accustomed to feeling “used up” after being with certain people, it’ll be hard to notice at first. Once you make the commitment to increase your awareness of overgiving, you’ll start to see differences in how you feel after being with particular people. And you’re going to be amazed at what you begin to see in yourself.

Would you say you love your life? Are you truly happy? These might seem like random questions. Of course you are happy, of course you love your life. But do you really? I want you to really think about these questions. It is easy to think we are happy or that we are loving our life. We may even be telling everyone we are happy and enjoying our life, putting up all our happy and fun pictures all over social media…...but deep down, it is a mask we are hiding behind. A facade to show the world everything is great. But it isn’t. Not really.

REALLY LOVE YOUR LIFE...

Your job isn’t making you happy. You spend the whole time wishing you were elsewhere. Your social life is pretty nonexistent and when you are out with friends, you feel bitter, pretend all is good, and you just wish you were home. At home, you feel lonely. You want to talk to someone but you don’t feel you can. Money never seems to be enough and when you do have a bit extra, you deny yourself luxuries because you are worried about the future. Deep down you feel miserable. You want to change your life, but you don’t know how. I know this feeling well. I’ve been there. The pretense, the “I’m good” reply to how are you, the fake smiles when you just want to cry. So...are you ready to follow some simple steps to help you achieve the change you are looking for at this point of your life?

GRATITUDE... BY GAIYA ANANDA

WITHOUT EXCEPTION, BEGIN EVERY DAY OF YOUR LIFE WITH GRATITUDE – WAYNE DYER If you were to ask me where to start on the road to personal transformation, I would say be thankful - really grateful - for everything and everyone in your life. Current research reveals that being grateful paves the way to achieving well-being and happiness. We hear this so often from well-meaning friends, inspirational speakers, priests: “Count your blessings,” “Be grateful”, “Give thanks”. If you were to tell me this a couple of years ago, I would probably have responded, “Be grateful? For what? For all the stress and drama? For all the pain and suffering?” I remember a time when my boss, who was trying to change the demoralised mood in the office, asked us to write 20 things that we were grateful for. She even gave us preprinted forms to make it simpler. I sat staring at the form and came up with maybe three things. It took me quite a long time to halfway fill the sheet. It was like pulling teeth. The lesson, however, stuck with me: I was not a very grateful person. I tried to improve, but things had to get worse - much worse - before they could get better. Little by little, life’s stresses increased. My job became more demanding as I worked on producing better quality reports while facing staffing and budget cuts. This resulted in me suffering from repetitive strain injury and other stress-related effects. Meanwhile Mom succumbed to multiple strokes. Four years into that I was hit by a double virus attack: chik V and dengue, leaving me - even years later - with full body pain, pinched nerves and exhaustion. My family life deteriorated. Lost under mountains of stress, I couldn’t see a way out. Just when I thought that things couldn’t get worse, they did. Mom died. My world collapsed. It was as if my very purpose for being was gone. Nothing meant anything to me after that. There was a leadership ad on a billboard some time ago, something about taking everything apart and rebuilding from scratch. It felt like that’s what I had to do, so I started yoga and swimming. The physical activity helped a bit but peace of mind felt unattainable. Inspired by a team of visually-impaired cricketers, I actively worked on being thankful for good eyesight. But I still felt trapped in my life and blamed God for everything. It seemed that it would take more for me to calm down.

The motor vehicle accident was serious. I was flung from the car. My neck broke. I suffered nerve and brain damage as well as vision impairment and road rash. It was easy to feel that I had even less to be thankful for at that point. However, the doctors said it was a miracle that I was not dead from blood loss or even paralysed for life although there was little hope of me recovering normal vision and brain function. While some of my closest friends became strangers at that time, help, prayer and support came from unexpected persons. Within two weeks, I was walking around (albeit in a body cast and with the aid of a cane) and in three months I was getting back to a lot of independent activity. Over the following months, nerves, tissues and brain continued to recover bit by bit. I believe that, because I had been focusing on gratitude before the accident, I was prepared to fully and deliciously appreciate my ability to see (even if diminished), to think and to remember most things and to walk! To see and to walk! Wow! Recovery also gave me the opportunity for internal reflection and the time to listen to inspirational speakers online. Slowly I recognized my awesome and magical nature. The gratitude and peace I had so desperately been searching for finally filled my heart. Now my gratitude list can easily expand to infinity, lol. A couple of days ago, I was so thankful to have feeling return to the upper right side of my face and ear and then to my left butt cheek, lol! So, to make a long story short my friend, do not wait until things happen to you. Work now on being thankful – be really really grateful - for everything and everyone in your life, for even setbacks and disappointments have the power to transform and uplift you if you choose. Start a gratitude journal and every day write at least three things that you are grateful for. Do this and you will come to feel the beauty of inner peace and set yourself on the path to discovering your awesome, magical nature.Be gentle with yourself. Gaiya Ananda

In September 2015 I hit rock bottom. After having been “cured” and healthy for 6 years, doctors gave me the diagnosis of metastasis in my liver, bones and maybe lungs. I was the mother of two young kids, an expat´s spouse living in Brazil and just starting to begin a new professional career as a coach. And then – BAM! Everything changed. What brought me to my knees at first has by now lead me to lead a life I call my Happiness Revolution. I have basically changed my whole life keeping the good stuff and bit by bit (sometime radically, sometimes slowly) removing everything that doesn't fit my new lifestyle anymore. I finished my training as a Life and Business Coach shortly after my chemotherapy and afterwards did my MAPPA (Master´s degree in applied Positive Psychology). Along the way I read and learned a lot about nutrition, physical and mental health, energy healing and many other things to support my cancer thriving journey.

FOCUSING ON YOUR

Fast-forward to November 2019 I am still alive and I am happier than I was ever before. Even though I still have metastasis in my liver, I am physically and mentally strong, I lead a great life with my family, I work as a coach, speaker and trainer and I am planning to live a long, healthy, happy and fulfilling life.

SEIZETHE DAY The first thing I decided, when I still didn't know, if the time I had left would be very short, was to enjoy every moment as much as possible. In the meantime I have learned from people like Viktor Frankl, who survived the holocaust, that one has always a choice on how to deal with a situation. I could have given up, but I consciously made the decision to savor life to the max as long as I could. As I know now, this helps to reduce stress and increase happiness neurotransmitters, which in fact help to boost the immune system and restorative actions in the body. In addition, it makes life much more worth living. In each and every situation throughout the day we can make the decision to take a positive and productive approach or to complain, become angry, judge

and

fight.

Many

times

we

just

react

to

situations instead of taking a conscious decision on how to deal with it. If we become aware of our options, we can make a lot of wise and smart decisions. This keeps us from switching into the fightor-flight mode numerous times a day and puts us into a better mood. It also makes us more productive.

NURTURE BODY, MIND & SOUL It doesn't matter, if you are sick or not – it is so important to nurture all levels of your being. The body needs to be nourished in order to be able to function well. Food is medicine, so whenever you are about to put something in your mouth, consider that you are either nourishing or poisoning your body. I have significantly changed my diet and by now I can really feel what food does for me. But I have to admit that being kind with myself includes giving myself a treat from time to time.To nurture the mind and soul is equally important. Many of us spend a lot of time not being aware of what they transmit and what they receive on an energy level. Just think of all the negative thoughts and information we daily feed our brains with. We need to become more aware of that in order to clean ourselves from those lower-vibrational energies. I use meditation, mindfulness and affirmations on a daily basis and I can tell that I feel a lot more relaxed, I put a lot less pressure on myself and I surround myself with lots of positive thoughts, people and situations.

EXERCISE AND REST Our body needs both exercise and rest. Exercise is important in order for the bodily functions to work well. The more we move the more our cells get filled with oxygen and toxins are taken away through the lymphatic system, sweat, breath and other cleaning processes. Then we need phases of rest and relaxation in order to restore our body and heal it. This happens during sleep, but also during the day when we take a break from our daily work. I found out that being in nature taking long walks helps me to restore and relax on different levels. It provides me with a lot of oxygen, I move, the sun gives me vitamin D and nature soothes my soul. When I am doing yoga I stretch my body, breathe, and connect to my soul and to the universe so that healing can take place. In addition, I use meditation for relaxation, connection and healing on a more profound level.

GRATITUDE & HOPE Gratitude has become very important for me. While many of us don't appreciate a lot of things in life that they consider

to

be

“just

normal”,

I

have

changed

my

perspective and live in a constant state of gratitude. If you change the way you value things and see things, it gives you a totally new perspective of how wonderful life really is. The mere fact that we can get up every morning and – at least most of us – take a warm shower and have a cup of tea or coffee is worth being thankful for every day. I have made gratitude a daily practice. This makes my life worth a lot more and it makes me focus on the things I already have instead of focusing on what is still missing. Whenever I get frustrated with my healing journey, I focus on how well I have been doing till today in spite of this disease. Hope is a powerful thing. If you have hope, there will always be a silver lining, a ray of light somewhere. If you have hope, giving up is not an option. If you believe in good things to come around, there is always a step to take. It may be tiny but it will keep you moving.Hope is what carries me on my personal journey. Even though I had good results and bad results, good days and bad days, some other major life transitions on top of my diagnosis (e.g. husband losing his job while I was in chemo treatment), I always – ALWAYS – believe in good things to come. Like this I am able to savor life and to live to the fullest. |

Essential Oils & crystals

HEALING THROUGH THE HOLIDAYS AND SEASONAL AFFECTIVE DISORDER BY HEATHER DEMPSEY IF YOU FIND YOURSELF STRUGGLING AS THE DAYS GETTING DARKER AND COLDER AND WHEN HOLIDAY CHEER COMES TO AN END, DON’T LET THE DREARINESS OF WINTER MONTHS TAKE A TOLL ON YOU! BRING THE FEELING OF SUNSHINE INTO YOUR LIFE WITH CRYSTALS AND ESSENTIAL OILS. WHAT CAN CRYSTALS OR ESSENTIAL OILS DO?

Science has undoubtedly proven to us that everything is energy and energy can be measured by vibration / frequency. You, or the energy that makes up you, is traveling and moving through the physical body via chakras, nadis, meridians and all around you. The not-so-positive experiences you have had influence your energy, creating blocks, imbalances, poor health, emotional pain. And since like attracts like, your current energy / frequency / vibration level will continue to attract things that cause more of the same. When you want to improve your health, emotional wellness, life's circumstances, your environment, etc. focusing on activities that balance your energy / raise your frequency is the best place to start! Energy healing brings balance to the body, mind and more. It restores, heals, clears, calms, energizes. Whatever the body is in need of to rebalance, heal and be your self.... your TRUE self. And what do Crystals and Aromatherapy have to do with this? My opinion regarding crystal healing and aromatherapy is that because everything is energy and since our fluctuating energy can be influenced, raised or lowered to match the most stable energy surrounding it, our body's energy begins to meet the steady, stable vibration of the crystal/s and/or oil/s it is in contact or proximity to. Each has their own vibration and healing ability when brought within our energy field.

crystals

essential oils

For Example: ·

As for Aromatherapy: Studies have shown that simply breathing in the aroma of an essential oil can raise your vibration in less than 15 seconds and applying them works even better because their molecular structure is small enough that the can get into the bloodstream!

Overwhelmed, scattered or out of control? The slow vibrating energy of a stone like red jasper, can help calm you, help you feel stronger and more grounded. ·

Sad, stuck, unmotivated? A crystal like citrine, which has a faster vibration (sometimes described as cheerful) gives you an energetic boost. ·

For Example:· Need Calm? Grab some lavender · Need a Boost? Citrus gives a joyful one ·

Trying to break an old habit or overcome addiction? Amethyst is well known for its support·

Need emotional healing from old trauma or grief? Great choices are Apache Tear, Lepidolite·

Desire Abundance and Fortune? Pyrite, Green Adventure or Citrine

Need Focus? Peppermint can help with that

I hope these short but sweet descriptions and examples provide a deeper understanding. I could go on for days about these sciences so if you would like more information, would like me to clarify or discuss further, please do not hesitate to reach out!

CRYSTALS FOR SEASONAL AFFECTIVE DISORDER

We can benefit from the healing vibration of crystals all through the year and for support with many different underlying causes/ issues. Regarding Seasonal Affective Disorder, the top two suggested stones are : Sunstone and Citrine. Both are stones of the sun - High Frequency, Fast Vibration. You can also beat the winter blues with the cheerful vibe of Citrine. Citrine cleanses and regenerates energy. It is known to boost selfesteem and optimism. Another bonus about Citrine is that it works for abundance and power!

HOW TO WORK WITH CRYSTALS? 1. In my opinion and many other crystal healers, holding crystals in the non-dominant hand allows you to absorb their energy, your body draws it in and adopts their characteristics. 2. Holding crystals over the heart allows your heart to draw the energy in and set the intention that the heart will send the energy throughout the body for your highest good. When you choose either of these options, I suggest having contact with your crystals for 30 minutes a day. You can hold them during meditation, while you are watching TV, have them on your lap while driving and even sleeping with them at night works (however, if sleep is a challenge for you, these may be a little too energizing. There are other crystals I’d suggest to support a more restful night sleep) 3. You can make crystal elixirs too. Some crystals are safe to be placed in water, others are either toxic or will dissolve if in water too long. So to play safe, you can fill a large pitcher with water, then place crystals inside of a vase and place vase inside the water pitcher. Let sit for a few hours and voila, Crystal elixir! Drink in the energy!

ESSENTIAL OILS FOR SEASONAL AFFECTIVE DISORDER When you need to keep mood boosted or don’t want them to dip to far down, try diffusing citrus oils or citrus blends throughout the day, for a few weeks. Studies found that patients on antidepressant where able to reduce their dose using a combination of Bergamot, Orange and Lemon after a few weeks of this practice. Lemon and Bergamot are the most commonly suggested oils for mood lifting and bringing a little lightness to the darkest time of year. Plus, they have additional benefits worth mentioning. Lemon is a little more invigorating while bergamot has more of a calming quality. Lemon nourishes the skin, can relieve nausea, promote weight loss, help purify the body and more. Bergamot is also said to lower blood pressure, aid digestion, prevent and fight infections, reduce cholesterol and the list goes on!The possibilities feel endless with the benefits of working with Therapeutic grade essential oils!

HOW TO WORK WITH ESSENTIAL OILS? 1. Diffuse, diffuse, diffuse! This is one of my favorite and I find most effective for mood boosting. Keeping yourself surrounded with the therapeutic aroma of essential oils really helps shift emotions. 2. Create a bath mixture using Epsom salt (great for detoxing and reducing soreness) and a few drops of a bath safe essential oil, mix and stir into your bathwater. Sink in, soak it in and relax <3 *Always check before using any essential oil on the skin, even diluted. Some can be very dangerous. Lemon and bergamot is considered to be on the safe list for bath or diluted in a carrier oil or lotion. 3. Keeping your surroundings clean and clutter free definitely helps lift mood and productivity, so adding essential oils to your cleaning routine is a great way to receive more benefits from cleaning. Lemon is commonly used to clean surfaces, counters, even wood floors. You can DIY your own all purpose cleaner with approx ½ cup white vinegar, 1 ½ cups distilled water and approx. 25 drops lemon essential oil, combine in a spray bottle (preferably glass since essential oils can eat away at plastic). Shake before each use. Juicing: There are many health benefits of drinking freshly juiced fruits and vegetables, and it’s a great way to add nutrients from the fruits or vegetables that you normally wouldn’t eat. Fruit and vegetable juices retain most of of the vitamins, minerals and plant chemicals (phytonutrients) that would be found in the whole versions of those foods. These nutrients can help protect against cardiovascular disease, cancer and various inflammatory diseases, like rheumatoid arthritis. Valuable compounds called flavonoids and anthocyanins are abundant in a variety of fruits and vegetables and guard against oxidative cellular damage, which comes from everyday cellular maintenance and is exacerbated by exposure to chemicals and pollution. Do beware of anyone who says that juicing is the only way to remain healthy. Juicing is a great way to add nutrition to your daily intake. Juicing typically requires using a machine or equipment in order to turn raw fruits and vegetables into a liquid. Home juicing machines may cost anywhere from $30 dollars to more than $300 dollars. By using special blades, most juicers chop up your fruits or vegetables into tiny pieces and spins them in a way to separate the juice from the pulp, which eliminates the majority of the fiber. You can ask around at local stores or consult Consumer Reports to find the juicer that’s best for you. Safely When making your own juice, try to make only as much as you can consume at one time. Juice that isn’t consumed right away can harbor bacteria and cause food poisoning. Exposure of the drink to air, bacteria and other pathogens can not only make you sick but threaten the nutritional value of the juice as well. Also, before using juicing your desired fruit, you should wash them thoroughly to remove any dirt, pesticides or bacteria. Make sure your cutting board and utensils are clean as well. E. coli is a very dangerous bacteria that can live on your fruits and make you sick. The problem is that it can only be killed with heat, which can also damage the nutritional content of the juice. If you don’t want to boil your juice on the stove, you’ll have to wash the fruit thoroughly before juicing. Learn more about the best ways to wash your fruit. If you decide to pursue a diet that predominantly consists of juice, like a juice cleanse, make sure you consume at least 2000 calories or more per day depending on your metabolic needs. Don’t starve yourself! It’s important that your body gets a sufficient amount of calories, vitamins, nutrients, protein, fat and carbohydrates. Also, make sure you eat fiber, to keep your digestive system working smoothly. You can add dissolvable fiber powder to your juices or supplement with a suitable number of fiber-rich solid foods (like prunes or pears) to compensate.

WHAT THE TAROT CARDS ARE PREDICTING FOR THE NEXT FEW MONTHS BY CRISTINA DRANNIKOV TRANSFORMATIONAL COACH, HEALER AND TAROT READER

THE ENERGY WE COME FROM SWORDS

OF

There have been a couple of though months behind that lead us to an entrapment by overthinking, mistrust and a little bit of manipulation. We fell victims of our self inflicted negativity an desilusión. Yet, we have to understand that all of that came from a place of fear instead of love and trust. mainly, because the month behind us rocked our foundations. It’s an automatic reaction then, to feel the need to control. And to feel the uncertainty, the fear of the unknown.

OUR CURRENT ENERGY... WANDS

OF

Leaving that behind, allows us to start fresh, anew. To look forward to new beginnings, and that is where we are moving this couple of months. OWNWARDS. With a renewed energy and a renewed sense of energy. Finding blossoms from where we thought all was dry and lost, and spreading a new light on things, being able to see “ a bigger picture” and a new perspective. We all know that in energy terms, NOTHING IS LOST and everything renews itself constantly, so all “perceived negative experiences” are just that, a perception, and just experiences. Anytime we decide, we can change that perspective (that pattern of thought-emotion-action) and ALLOW ourselves to have a ew experience. Don’t forget that we ARE that, just spirits having a human experience. Let’s enjoy the trip while it lasts!!!!

THE POWER OF THE CARDS

TAROT

WHAT WE NEED TO LET GO OF PENTACLES We need to let go of our own attachments to the material world. We tend to come from a fear based perspective instead of a “trust based” place. That attachment stagnates energy and we tend to end up manifesting that what we fear the most. TRUST and SURRENDER to the bigger picture is KEY. Open youurself, de clutter let go of those things that stop the energy of flowing and allow more space to open up, new energy to come in.

WHAT WE NEED TO LEARN... THE OF CUPS We need to understand that “we are already there” we are fulfilled, we are abundant, WE ARE. We just need to look better. Look beyond our limitations. And if we can't, we need to ask spirit for guidance. Entering a dialog “what am I not being able to see? How can I surrender more? Where can stand in order to feel more plentiful, more fulfilled? “ And trust the guidance...Make time and space to meditate and feel grateful for everytthing you already have, and preparing, opening yourself for more to come.

THE ENERGY THAT LIES AHEAD OF WANDS AND

OF PENTICLES

Stability, good fortune and success is being granted, once we trust the process. Once we learn to let go OF THE ATTACHMENT OF HOW THINGS HAVE TO MANIFEST. And we understand that we are creating with our thoughts, withour feelings, with our actions. MOVE FROM LOVE and STAY ABOVE FEAR ... In the love scene, the “ blessed marriage” will come when we feel plentiful and fulfilled BY OURSELVES . When we do not “ need” the other person to complete us in any form. So exciting energies to come!!, May you be happy, may you be healthy may you be at peace. Great blessings to you Cristina Dranikow
