Hello little ones! It’s wonderful to have you here with us and we hope you have a brilliant five days! If you’ve not been to Soul Survivor before we want to give you a really warm welcome and hope you’ll feel at home. If you’ve been hanging out with us for a while you’ll notice we’re doing a few new things this year… We’re giving you loads more choice in our teaching throughout the day with four Soul Talk slots (one in the morning and three in the afternoon). We’re introducing a new stream called Bite Size with lots of new, young speakers, where there will be two 15 minute talks during a session – ideal

WE’RE EXPECTANT OF ALL THAT GOD WANTS TO DO AS WE FOCUS ON HIM AND WE’RE PRAYING WE ALL LEAVE HERE TRANSFORMED BY HAVING SPENT TIME IN HIS PRESENCE.

if you can’t decide between a whole Soul Talk and everything else that’s going on during the afternoon! Talking of which, we’ll be having some brand new events such as our Colour Chaos party and picnic, an afternoon of inflatables and village fete fun. The evenings are jam packed too with our new Rewind venue hosting a UV party, gigs from LZ7 and Guvna B, and a Mr Boogies night! We hope you like all these new additions to the programme, but don’t worry, in all these changes our heart is the same as ever before. We’ll still be making lots of space in our main meetings for worship, teaching and ministry. These times are right at the heart of us being together because they give us an incredible opportunity to meet with Jesus and be changed by him. In our teaching we’ll be looking at the theme of relationships – relationship with God, and with friends, plus singleness and marriage. We’re expectant of all that God wants to do as we focus on him and we’re praying we all leave here transformed by having spent time in his presence. We can’t wait to see what these five days bring!

Love from Mike INTRO INFO: WELCOME

Main Meeting Venue

Every morning and evening we all get together for times of worship, teaching and ministry. These meetings are one of the best things about all gathering together at Soul Survivor and they’re all about spending time in God’s presence, worshipping him, hearing from his word, and praying for one another in the power of the Holy Spirit. If you’re not familiar with the way we do things (or why we do them that way) have a read on to find out more.

Worship is at the heart of

Isn’t that amazing?!

BIBLE TEACHING The Bible has loads to teach us about who God is, how he has led his people through the ages, how much he loves us, and how he wants us to live as his followers, but sometimes we can struggle to understand it on our own. So in our meetings we make time to look at God’s word together and hear from a speaker who will help us apply what we read in the Bible to the things that are happening in our lives and in the world around us. If you think Bible teaching is a bit boring we hope we’ll be able to change your mind pretty quickly! The talks are often a lot of fun and our aim is to inspire and equip you, not leave you snoring on your neighbour’s shoulder.

MINISTRY TIMES We want to live in God’s power and that means we need to spend time in his presence. During ministry times we make space to wait on the Holy Spirit, asking God to meet with us and do what he wants to do. As Christians the Holy Spirit is always living in us but in these times we’re inviting him to heal us physically and/or emotionally from things that have hurt us; to equip and empower us to live for him in our everyday lives, to give us his gifts, and to give us a greater understanding of who God is. If you’re not used to praying in this way, don’t worry, Mike and the team will talk you through what’s going on and how to receive and how to pray. We really

N A B R U D 2015 CH - 11T 31ST MAR

We’re heading to South Africa in the Easter holidays of 2015 and we’d love for you to join us! The trip will be an incredible opportunity to work with local churches and serve communities facing poverty and injustice. We will be working in teams serving long-term projects in townships doing everything from painting and DIY, to running kids clubs and holiday clubs. We will also meet regularly as a whole group so we can worship God together, hear from his word, and pray for one another in the power of the Holy Spirit. Plus there will be time for you to enjoy some of the amazing things that the city of Durban has to offer, including the fantastic beaches, and there will be

TEAM Lots of work goes on behind the scenes to make Soul Survivor happen! Not only is there a team all year round planning the events in Watford, but we also rely on a trusty band of more than 2500 volunteers to make everything run smoothly. From checking wristbands to recording the Soul Talks, you’ll find our amazing team members hard at work all around the showground.

FANCY BEING PART OF THE TEAM? We’d absolutely love you to consider serving at our 2015 events and we think you’ll enjoy yourself too! Here are a few testimonies from last year’s crew:

us but we know it can sometimes be hard to keep going on our own so we’ve come up with a solution! We’ll be reading through the whole Bible from 1st September this year through to the end of August next year (but don’t panic – that’s only about 10-15 mins a day!) and we’d love for you to join us. You can buy a Soul Survivor Bible in One Year from our stand in the ToolShed which has a reading plan with a bit of Old Testament, a bit of New Testament, and a portion of a Psalm each day.

Mike and Andy have read and recorded the four gospels so that you can listen to the stories of Jesus for free! You can purchase a copy from our stand or visit our website if you’d like to listen to them for free as we’ll be making the recordings available as podcasts.

We’ll also post daily vids from Mike, Andy or one of the team, on our app and on our website which will help put the things we’ve read into the context of our everyday lives. If the whole Bible seems a bit daunting, we’ve also got a New Testament in One Year reading plan that you can get involved in too. We believe that getting into God’s word can be life changing so join us on September 1st!

YOUTH BIBLE We also have a Soul Survivor Youth Bible – check out our shop page for more info!

They seem an unlikely pair – while Barnabas was giving money to the church (Acts 4:36,37), Paul was busy trying to kill Jesus’ followers (Acts 8:1–3). WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I GET HOME? HOW DO I SUSTAIN THIS HIGH? We hope you’ve had a brilliant time here at Soul Survivor but we’re the first to acknowledge this isn’t everyday life. Everyone has ups and downs and that’s just as true for Christians as it is for anyone else. We want to encourage you to keep seeking Jesus and living everyday with him, knowing he’s with you just as much when you’re at home as he is when you’re here, so here are some top tips:

1 Reading your Bible is one of the best ways to stay connected to God. We’re starting to read through the whole Bible on September 1st and we’d love for you to join us!

2 Get/stay plugged in to your church and youth group – none of us are meant to do the Christian life alone. Go along regularly, give and serve, be committed and enjoy being part of the body of Christ.

3 Getting passionate about social justice? Awesome! Get involved with Slum Survivor and stay in contact with Soul Action for loads more ideas, resources and inspiration. www.soulaction.org

4 Stay in touch with us – we love hanging out with you guys at our other events through the year plus we’re always up for a cheeky chat on social media!

5 HAVE A SOUL SURVIVOR SUNDAY! On Sunday 14th September we will be having our first ever Soul Survivor Sunday! The idea is to provide an interactive way for you to tell the rest of your church about how you met with God during Soul Survivor. You’ll be able to download a PowerPoint presentation, a ‘memories’ video from the week, testimonies and more, that will give you some ideas for how you can best feed back to your church. We hope you’ll take part and let us know how it goes! Find out more and download resources at www.soulsurvivor.com/soul-survivor-sunday.

One of the things we’re really passionate about at Soul Survivor is meeting with God. During the main meetings we will always try to let God lead what’s going on and make space for him to meet with us. As part of this the leaders of the meeting will make time for us to wait on God’s Spirit and pray for groups of people they believe God particularly wants to meet with. This is a great opportunity for God to work in our lives and it’s brilliant to be as open to him as possible.

Don’t worry if you’ve never had
