Kinsale Mead Co.’s vision and passion is rediscovering the art of mead-making and creating a light, delicious range of Irish meads. Using the best techniques of modern winemaking and carefully selected pure honey and fruits, their meads are 11-12% ABV, packed full of flavour and refreshingly different.

They develop, craft and bottle them all by hand and they are all produced in the small, family run business in Kinsale, the first Irish meadery in 200 years, from bee to bottle, and are now judged as among the best meads in the world.

ferent meads, showcasing the versatility of this ancient drink. They have more in development and are stocked in well over 200 shops and some of the top restaurants and hotels in Ireland.

Their limited edition range of mead includes the first commercially made Irish Mead made from Irish honey in 200 years, working closely with the beekeeper Paul Kelly in Ring, Clonakilty. They introduced some barrel aged meads working closely with a French wine barrel supplier. They export to Northern Ireland and the UK, including with Amazon, as well as to specialist shops in Germany, Belgium, Netherlands,

Czech Republic and Estonia. They run popular tours and tastings in the meadery in Kinsale from spring to autumn, welcoming visitors from near and far. They take them on a journey through the rich history of mead and how it is woven through Ireland’s myths and legends. As part of the company’s sustainability ethos, as members of the National Biodiversity Plan and certified members of Origin Green, they are committed to educating visitors on the huge importance of biodiversity for all the wild pollinators, as well as for bees.
