Youth attend shrine

LEAMINGTON — Several local youth attended the Our Lady of Lebanon Shrine on Highway 77 prior to the Easter holiday in order to utilize the outdoor Station of the Cross trail.

The grounds are accessible to everyone, regardless of denomination.

The St. Anthony’s Parish is planning a new church in addition to a Maronite nursing home in the future.

They recently welcomed a new priest, hailing from Calgary.

His name is Father Michael Kassas, with 13 years of experience as a chaplain for the hospital and senior home there.

Father Kassas is also bi-ritual, which means that he can celebrate mass at any Latin Roman Catholic Church and any Maronite Roman Catholic Church.
