Civil Works The latest weekly briefing on the civil works is attached at the end of this update.
Trees and Flowers The Trees on Hippodrome/Southside Square have now been pruned and the red lanterns returned in advance of the Christmas Lighting. From Monday the Civil Works to make Southside Square happen will be commencing. You will also see that the planters have been emptied of summer flowers. Birmingham Parks and Nurseries will be restocking them for the next season by the end of the week.
RBSA Charity Auction The Royal Birmingham Society of Artists has asked us to circulate an invitation to its first Charity Auction, run by Bonhams, on November 2. It will be hosted at Deutsche Bank’s prestigious Brindleyplace offices. For more than 200 years, the RBSA has provided opportunities in Birmingham for people to engage with the arts. The Gallery is just off St Paul’s Square, and needs to raise funds urgently to continue its year-round programme of exhibitions and events. All auction proceeds will go to the RBSA: lots have been donated by artists to raise funds for the visual arts charity which is one of the oldest Royal Societies in the UK. Income from ticket sales will go to Autistica, Deutsche Bank’s Charity of the Year.
