On 11/21/12 one of my biggest fears came true, my beautiful home, everything I worked so hard for, all my personal treasures, so many precious pictures, beautiful art work and gifts the children made me, my furniture... my faithful and beautiful cat "BOB"... all gone up in flames.. I am just so heartbroken, walking up to my house and to see it all taken away.....

But all those things can be replaced, I just thank God that he was watching over my two beautiful children, Audrianna and Stevie, who were home at the time, he got them out safely. I cannot imagine my life without them... I try my best to protect them from all the bad things in this world, unfortunately some things are unavoidable. I LOVE THEM WITH ALL MY HEART, THANK YOU GOD FOR PROTECTING THEM!!!!

Thank you to all my wonderful & caring family and friends who supported me, who sent kind words, who brought us food and clothes.... I apologize if I did not return your messages, your phone calls.... I have been overwhelmed, I do appreciate all of you...

Special thank you to all the firefighters who responded to my house - Lake Erie Beach - my amazing fire family, Evans Center, Farnham, Brant, North Evans, Highland and Reservation Fire Companies. ANGOLA LIBRARY PARTICIPATES IN CHRISTMAS IN THE VILLAGE

Christmas in the Village 2012 has come and gone.

Once again our village streets were filled with excited children together with their watchful parents going from one event to the other. The Angola Library participated in this annual event with a “Letters to Santa “ table and Christmas ornament making. This year’s ornament was a pale blue and white snowflake made with pipe-cleaners and beads. Supplies and hands-on instruction were given to each child so they could make an ornament to take home as a reminder of this special day.

The library also had a special Christmas in the Village free raffle. The prize was a soft sculpture Santa figure.

The lucky winner was Faith Pruchnicki, Santa came early to her house. __________

The food, the fellowship, need I say more? Yes I do. For my husband, youngest son, granddaughter and me it was the place to be! The weather was beautiful; more than 10 0delivers went out as scheduled. The kitchen was hopping, there were so many volunteers that some didn’t have anything to do at times and that was wonderful. The fact that so many people in this community wanted to help, to cook, to serve and to just have conversations with others is amazing!

As promised the food was tasty and plentiful. More food was cooked and eaten this year than any other with little left over although there weren’t quite as many guests as we would have liked. Many of the guests that came stayed for a long time, chatting with old friends, possibly making some new ones. Everyone was relaxed and satisfied, lingering over coffee and tea. Yes, the football games were on - I guess some just can’t be without it - as long as they were happy, we were happy.

The gym was busy, the kids and a few adults had a ball (pun intended) playing hockey, running around cones, shooting hoops and just having fun. Some spent down time after eating by coloring and making cards to be sent to our military personnel stationed overseas.

The crazy turkey was all over the place, strutting its stuff; not stuffing, around the hall and outside drawing people in.

Turkey, ham, stuffing, mashed potatoes, yams, corn & peppers, carrots beans, squash, cranberry sauce and salad.

I just couldn’t even begin to name the desserts but I can tell you that I had to take mine home. I just couldn’t fit it in!

Everyone who volunteered, came as guests, spread the word and sponsored, were all blessed on this thanksgiving. __________

CANCER WELLNESS CENTER OFFERS CANCER COACH PROGRAM

CHAMBER ORCHESTRA ENTERTAINS TRAVELERS

On Wednesday, December 19th the Chamber Orchestra from the Senior High journeyed down to the Metropolitan Transportation Center in Downtown Buffalo to entertain the travelers. This was part of the NFTA’s ‘Sounds of the Season’ taking place throughout the month. Travelers as well as employees were enthusiastically entertained with various string arrangements of Christmas carols and holiday favorites. This is the second year the Chamber Orchestra volunteered their time and talents to this event.

The students did a fantastic job under the direction of Mr. Glenn Molik, Senior High Orchestra Director. The group is made up of James Brennan, Bianca Bonnett, Alex Budziszewski, Sandy Conklin, Mitch Considine, Steve Durusky, Brianne Ingrao, Nick Jacobs, Maddy Obrochta, Starr Torres and Emmalee Williams. __________

ANGOLA FIRE DEPARTMENT HOLDS ANNUAL FOOD DRIVE FOR THE VFW

On December 1, 2012 the Angola Fire Department and Company held its annual food drive for the VFW. This year the Angola Fire Department collected more food than previous years and took in more cash donations to supply local residence of the Town of Evans in need with a food basket for the holiday season.

Help is available to Cancer patients or their families through a trained Cancer Coach.

A Cancer Coach is a cancer survivor and has already dealt with a cancer diagnosis, so they know what you are going through.

Cancer Coaches are people who have overcome the obstacles that they had to face, and can encourage you to do the same.
