REMINISCE: DO YOU REMEMBER WHERE YOU WERE IN "1981"?

SCS PRESCHOOL 3 MOTHER'S TEA

Southtowns Catholic School Preschool 3's were so excited to celebrate Mother's Day with their mom's. The kids made flowers and set the tables to make the room look beautiful. Before they had fruit, muffins, tea, juice & Ice cream, the kids with their mom's made art projects. The children came with their own hand print and together they cut out a heart, stem & leaves. To finish it up, they glued a poem by Kathleen Lademan. The children sang songs and then passed out baby shoes with petunia flowers in them. Pictured: Elisabeth Nagel and her daughter Olivia. A piece of me I give to you. I painted this flower to say "I Love You". The heart is you. The hand is me. To show we are friends The best there can be. I hope you will save it And look back some day At the flower we shared, On your special day. Happy Mother's Day! __________

SCS STUDIES US MONUMENTS

Southtowns Catholic Students in Miss Lori McIntyre's Grade 3 class spent some time learning about US Monuments and why they were created. As part of the lesson, each student had to pick a monument, do research, write a paper, make a small version and then present it to the class. Pictured here: Nick Pratt with his Washington Monument, Sam Chiavetta with his US Marine Corp War Memorial and Natalie Backus with her Washington Monument. __________

Well, Patti Bruehl does.... I had a dream...an idea...a vision of a shop...a Resale Shop, where people could come to buy quality items at very reasonable prices. I wanted to present to my customers a wonderful shopping experience, a friendly atmosphere and a variety of items for the young to the old. This concept materialized and became the "Attic Place", Gowanda’s most unique consignment shop at 23 Buffalo St. in Gowanda, N.Y. It has been a 32 year adventure, constantly growing and evolving with the times. It has been a most gratifying means for me to earn a living and have fun doing it. So very many wonderful people, stories, children, and life have come through the big heavy oak door into the eclectic shop. We carry it all..... my motto is...if I think it will sell...I will consign it!! Now it has come time, as with each of us in life, to pass the baton. The Attic Place will be under the new ownership of Miss LouAnn Mohawk, beginning with the Fall Season, Sept. 10th, 2013. LouAnn has worked with me for over 20 yrs. now. We sort of grew up together, although she is much younger than I!! LouAnn knows the business of Resale, and for me is the best person to have "The Boss Position", in charge, and responsible to keep the dream alive....of course with the help of our shoppers and consignors. Please come to celebrate with us on Sunday July 14th at THE COACH INN, located outside Little Valley,N.Y. on RT#353. It will be my semi-retirement party and an appreciation party for all of you that helped this great shop continue to serve us all. Bring the kids! We'll be outside, so bring your chairs. There will be a cash bar and menu. Party starts at 3:00 - Music 4:00 to 8:00. The OZONE RANGERS will play the tunes...it will be up to you to make the moves!! And I thank you all for being part of this Great Adventure... Patti Bruehl "TE ATTIC PLACE"

SCS BUBBLES & CHALK

Southtowns Catholic School students in Kindergarten, Grade 1 & Grade 2 took a break from their schoolwork and enjoyed some time outside playing with bubbles & chalk. Pictured is Grade 2 student Abby Szymkowiak with her masterpiece. It's says "I love school. I love when we do work. I love school." SCS loves Abby too. __________
