George Andrew Hlavsa, formerly of Angola, NY, passed away in Myrtle Beach, SC on April 14, 2014 he was 85.

Loving husband of Rena Rader Hlavsa; father of Debra Ann Kaufman and Michael A. Hlavsa.

Grandfather of Michael, Ryan and Justin (Ashley) Kaufman; great grandfather of Trenton and Ethan Kaufman.

George spent most of his career with the Courier Express, working in the circulation Department. He subsequently purchased the Angola Liquor Store which he owned and operated for many years. He moved with his wife, to Myrtle Beach, SC to enjoy the beach and sunshine in 2005, where he lived until his passing. He also enjoyed bowling at Chicks Lanes, for many years.

Jacki Preischel has worked at Lake Shore Central School District for 24 years. She worked as a long-term substitute for 10 years before accepting a fifth grade position at the John T. Waugh Intermediate School. She has taught 3rd and 5th grade at the John T. Waugh and Highland Elementary Schools.

She has worked as the district Elementary Math Core curriculum leader for three years. She is an active member of the NCTM and AMTNYS math organizations.

She consistently collaborates with her colleagues, offers professional development, and is always an advocate for elementary math curricular needs.
