Allen Burdale (Dale) Johnson Allen Burdale (Dale) Johnson was born on October 27, 1943. His parents were Allen Thomas Johnson and Wilma (Billie) Meyers Johnson. Dale has 6 siblings Valerie Ann Hill, Kathleen Beth Akins, Eric Thomas,Herbert Lloyd, Samuel Dean and Daniel Lee Johnson. He married Virginia Ann Capasso on November 18, 1961, she was the was the love of his life and they enjoyed 54 years of marriage. They had 3 loving children Allen Edward, -HŲHU\ 3DXO %ULGJHW -RKQson and Kristi Lynn (Alec) Millar. He was grandfather to 2 devoted grandchildren Jessica Grace Johnson, and Jakeb Allen Johnson Millar.

Dale was a wonderful hero, mentor and friend to many.

He enjoyed hunting with family and his best friend.

Dale was actively involved in auto racing. He drove at Holland and Perry Speedway. His accomplishments RQ DQG RŲ WKH WUDFN HDUQHG him induction into the Gowanda Area Sports Hall of Fame. Up until the time of his death he took great pride in being involved with his son’s racing. Dale worked for the State of New York at Gowanda Psychiatric Center and J. N. Adams Developmental Center. He was also involved in his community through his work in the Versailles Fire &RPSDQ\ DV D ÀUH ÀJKWHU and later as a Commissioner. He was beloved by all as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, Uncle, Brother and friend. Funeral Services were held at the Wentland Funeral Home, 10634 Main St., North Collins, NY. _______

Joseph L. Kielar Jr., of Hamburg, formerly of Eden, passed April 11, 2016 at age 96. Husband of the late Annleath. Father of Johann (Larry) Blowers, Sharon (David) Leary and Kevin Kielar (Connie Ayotte). Grandfather of Edward, Eugene and Daryl Blowers, David, Sarah and Lisa Leary. Also survived by 10 great-grandchildren.

Friend of the late Madaline Sherman and Joyce Meyer.

Friends called at the Donald M. Demmerley Funeral Home, Inc., 21 Pierce Avenue, Hamburg on Thursday, April 14 where a funeral service was held Friday, April 15. Flowers gratefully declined. From April 11-13, the Faith Bible Baptist Church of Eden hosted the â&#x20AC;&#x153;Tri-State Independent Baptist Preacherâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s Fellowshipâ&#x20AC;? and Spring Bible Conference. During the three days, over 40 pastors attended from Venezuela, Costa Rica, North Carolina, Virginia, Mississippi, Canada, New York, Pennsylvania, and California.

Renowned pastor and speaker Doug Fisher from San Diego spoke three times. Other speakers included Phil Huber, Roland Mills, and Tim Young (pictured). Tim is the pastor of Heritage Baptist Church in Palmyra, N.Y. and director of New York Baptists for Biblical values, helping Albany legislators. Several hundred church attenders from New York and Pennsylvania also attended the meetings.

April is National Car Care Month and the Car Care Council reminds motorists to spring into action and follow 10 basic maintenance procedures to make sure their vehicles are running at peak performance for the summer driving season.

Check all fluids, including engine oil, power steering, brake and transmission as well as windshield washer solvent and antifreeze/coolant; Check the hoses and belts to make sure they are not cracked, brittle, frayed, loose or showing signs of excessive wear; Check the battery and replace if necessary. Make sure the connection is clean, tight and corrosion-free; Check the brake system annually and have the brake linings, rotors and drums inspected at each oil change; Inspect the exhaust system for leaks, damage and broken supports or hangers if there is an unusual noise. Exhaust leaks can be dangerous and must be corrected without delay; Schedule a tune-up to help the engine deliver the best balance of power and fuel economy and produce the lowest level of emissions; Inspect the steering and suspension system annually including shock absorbers, struts and chassis parts such as ball joints, tie rod ends and other related components; Check the tires, including tire pressure and tread. Uneven wear indicates a need for wheel alignment. Tires should also be checked for bulges and bald spots; Check the wipers and lighting so that you can see and be seen.

Check that all interior and exterior lighting is working properly and replace worn wiper blades so you can see clearly when driving during precipitation.

Whether you visit a professional service technician or do it yourself, a thorough vehicle inspection this spring can help keep your car safe and dependable and help you avoid much higher costs down the road.
