On Thursday May 19th the Eden Stampede 4-H Club went to Henry’s Gardens to plant beautiful flowers to enter in the fair. This has become an annual event for us because it is so much fun! Mrs. Henry taught us how to plant our flowers so they will grow nice. She gave us a choice to plant flowers that grow in the sun or the shade. After that she let us fill up our jugs with special fertilizer that helps our plants grow healthy and strong. I planted a pepper in the middle of my pot with marigolds around it! Southtowns Catholic School Celebrates May Crowning Students in Miss Cassi Johnson's Grade 3 class celebrated May Crowning. In honoring the Virgin Mary as "the Queen of May", the children placed a crown of roses on Mary's head. After the ceremony, the children received their 1st bible and then had little reception with their families in the community room. He joined the infantry at age seventeen during World War Two and fought in France, Germany, Austria, and Czechoslovakia, earning two battle stars and the Combat Infantry Badge. Discharged LQ KH Ă€QLVKHG KLJK school in one semester and attended Bryant and Stratton College where he met his future wife, Rosemary E. Meidel. They were married in 1949 and have three sons, Michael M. (John Sullivan), Patrick J. (Susie), and Daniel D. (MIchael James)Smutz. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Grace Frances (Richard Templin) and Patrick E. (Marisela) Smutz, and three great grandchildren. Will owned Howell-Smutz Chevrolet in Eden for over WZHQW\ Ă€YH \HDUV +H DQG his wife were both licensed airplane pilots and enjoyed hunting and traveling throughout the United States and Europe.
