Airstream trailers are easily recognized by the distinctive shape of their rounded aluminum bodies. This shape dates back to the 1930s and is based on designs created by Hawley Bowlus. Its shinny and streamlined design is usually connected with the design of aircrafts so even though Airstream campers have been around since 1930 they stand out with its timeless futuristic design. The Ford Airstream (2007) is a retro-futuristic crossover SUV that was inspired by the classic Airstream recreational vehicle trailers. As design factor, shiny metallic exterior material and streamlined round shape are successfully dissolved in its design
