When asked how she manages to do it all, Felicia sits back, closes her eyes, takes a deep breath, and finally replies, "I wouldn’t recommend it." Shaking her head, she continues, "It is exhausting, it’s overwhelming, and can often be frustrating. It’s not always fun being so creative with tons of ideas because you get easily distracted. I’ve had million -dollar ideas that I never acted on because I was all over the place and lacked the discipline or knowledge to focus. I’ve learned a great deal about myself and success through trial and error, with the biggest lesson being to focus. You will not be successful running to explore all of your great ideas - one day you’re exploring a cooking show and the next you want to be a model and a month later you have a grand idea about climbing Mount Everest etc, etc. No matter
how great your ideas are, you have to pick one to fully explore. You must focus, prioritize, plan, execute, and follow through if you going to be successful at anything. No matter what you’re passionate about, if you don’t focus and pour your time, energy, effort, and resources into it, you will never be successful. That is my main message when I am booked as the keynote speaker because I find more and more people who are just like me, and they need to hear it. They are smart and talented and have a notebook full of amazing ideas. But they lack mentors, resources, and guidance, much like I did. I’m finally learning to shut off all the noise in my head in order to focus on one thing at a time. It's hard, and I’ in progress; however, I am determined to help others figure it out sooner than I did by sharing my story
Felicia wants people to know that despite being a savvy entrepreneur, her journey was far from flawless. Now, she’s excited to take off her mask and share her story with the world. "I have a testimony that is still loading, but I'm sure there's someone out there who can benefit from it..”
You speak about the importance of focus to accomplish our goals; how can we remain focused surrounded by distractions?
The first step is to admit that you are indeed distracted. Identifying what is keeping you from achieving your goals is crucial. Once you've identified the distractions, you can make a conscious effort to redirect your attention and focus on what truly requires it. It’s not easy to tune out all the noise around you, but it is possible if you consciously put your mind to it and if the goal is important enough to you. Sometimes, this means saying no to social activities so you can focus on completing tasks, like that business plan you’ve been putting off for months. Ultimately, it’s all about making deliberate choices.

How do you maintain your energy & creativity?
I keep moving! I'm always doing something, whether it's cooking, cleaning, working, traveling, writing, or spending time with my family. I feel naturally creative because I'm always coming up with new ideas. Recently, I bought a gym membership hoping it will force me to get in shape and move my body more. I’m still working on utilizing it consistently, lol. But I’m proud of myself for taking the first step (this is part of me celebrating the small wins along the way).
I'm also considering implementing a self-care day at least once a month to focus on rejuvenating myself physically, mentally, spiritually, and emotionally. I realize I don't take enough time for myself, but as I get older, I'm starting to appreciate the importance of intentional self-care more. I'm also thinking about traveling more for rest and relaxation and not just for work. Maybe I'll plan a few girls' trips with a few family and solo trips sprinkled in. Aside from that, I take my vitamins, put my phone down at a reasonable time, and try my best to turn the noise from the world OFF to rest.
What’s the inspiration behind your book “Equally Yoked” & what will readers take away?
The inspiration behind "Equally Yoked" came from seeing so many people around me struggle with failed relationships, including my own experiences. I started wondering why everyone seemed miserable and unhappy with their partners, even though we all desire the same fundamental things: love and happiness. I noticed that my friends who weren't married desperately wanted to be, and those who were married secretly envied the single life.
Late-night conversations with my friends, including some guys, about our relationships got me thinking deeply. I began to question why these issues kept coming up. At the time, I was engaged, and while our relationship wasn't perfect, it was good with no glaring red flags. But seeing so many friends, family members, co-workers, acquaintances, and even celebrities struggle in their marriages made me very cautious. I didn't want to find myself in the same unhappy place having the same conversation after saying "I do."
So, I started digging deeper, and it hit me like a revelation: many relationships are doomed from the start because they aren't equally yoked. It was like God put this insight into my heart, urging me to share it with the world. I feel like I'm just the messenger, and He wrote the book.
I hope "Equally Yoked" helps people realize that there's already a blueprint for a successful, happy marriage.
Being equally yoked doesn't mean your relationship will be perfect, but it sets a foundation for a smoother, less turbulent journey together. goal is to create a platform to help people find and maintain long term meaningful marriages filled with peace, love and happiness rather than pain, hurt, and turmoil.
