Best for Teens

Teens have an entrepreneurial spirit. They are creative and when they “like” something they put a lot of effort into it. Think about it. That young person that loves video games spends hours and days researching and learning everything about the gaming system.

Here are a few businesses ideas for teens.

Social Media Manager:

Most teenagers are well aware of the quick changes in the social media arena and how to stay engaged through constant communication. So, becoming a social media manager is right up their alley. With a little training they can be on the way to creating a business.

Baby sitting:

Most families have a lot going on and finding an affordable babysitter that they can trust is vital. Hiring a teenage babysitter can offer a family some relief while creating wealth for the young person.

Car Wash/ Detailing:

Who does not like a clean car inside and out, especially in the Summer? Most people will support teenagers who offer to wash and detail their car. The idea of supporting a young person AND not having to clean their car is a great selling point.

Summer can be a time to stay active AND earn income for many teens. If you need more assistance in creating business ideas for the teen in your life visit speakwomanmagazine.com.

Summer Tips

Summertime is finally here and for business owners this is a time to create and activate creative marketing techniques.

Here are a few tips to marketing your businesses in the Summer months.

Get Out & Engage:

Regardless of where you are there are tons of events, fairs, concerts, and other chances to engage with potential customers and clients. Research what’s going on in your local area and beyond. A lot of communities offer a fun-themed events (cook-outs, parties, etc.). If you are just venturing out and feel overwhelmed, you can research more intimate events. Whether it be purchasing a vendor table or just network and pass out business cards or flyers. So, go ahead Get Out & Engage!

Take Photographs:

Marketing is about consistently keeping your business in front of as many people as possible while connecting and engaging with others. Taking photos not only documents your business journey, but it also provides promotional content.

Use Vacation Wisely:

Summer is full of vacations and get-a-ways. Weather it be for graduations, weddings, family reunions, &/or vacations. It is important to take some time off and rest your mind and recharge, so there are some vacations that should be just that. Other vacations can be a marketing gold mind for business owners. Vacations are great times to grow your business. For example, you may choose to vacation near a city that will be hosting a huge vending, networking event, or conference. This is a grand opportunity to promote your products/services to fresh faces. This is also an opportunity to research more events in that area.

For business owners Summer can be a time to increase your reach and connect with others. If you need more assistance in creating &/or activating your Summer Marketing strategies visit speakwomanmagazine.com.

How To Sleep Better As An Entrepreneur

Entrepreneurship is definitely not for everyone. If we are honest we can admit that there are many ups and tons of downs. One major issue in the life of an entrepreneur is timemanagement. There never seems to be enough time in the day. Most of us are working full-time jobs (maybe two), taking care of our families, and building our business. This is compounded by hearing other entrepreneurs brag about how much sleep they have lost working on their business. Although this is our reality we must still find time to get things done, so many of us sacrifice our sleep.

It is a fact that we need sleep. According to the National Sleep Foundation ‘Sleep is a vital indicator of overall health and well-being.’ Sleep helps thought clarity and aids in memory recall. Sleep also increases creativity.

So how do we balance the need to sleep vs. the need to get things done? Here are a few strategies to help you get the most out of sleep:

Create a sleep strategy and stick to it

Just like every other area of business entrepreneurs must plan ahead as much as possible. Choose a time to go to bed at night and a time to wake up in the morning and stick to it. This is important because waking up and going to sleep at different times on different days throws off your natural sleep rhythms.

Communicate your nightly unavailability

Let your clients, customers, employees, family, and friends know what your available hours are and that you do not respond to emails or phone calls at night unless it is an emergency. Most people will respect your boundaries.

Write out a to do list

Most entrepreneurs have a to do list running through our head when we go to bed. We make a mental to do list, then worry about what we have or will forget to do. This can be relieved by taking time to write out a to do list prior to going to bed. This will ease some anxiety about forgetting something important.

Get active before bed

According to sleep.org ‘As little as 10 minutes of aerobic exercise, such as walking or cycling, can dramatically improve the quality of your nighttime sleep, especially when done on a regular basis.’ So get moving!

Eliminate distractions

Many things can distract you from a good nights sleep. It is important that we locate and eliminate these distractions during sleep hours to increase sleep success. Here are a few steps we can take to remove distractions:

• Put away Phones &/or other devices.

• Turn off TV &/or Radio.

• Where comfortable clothing.

• Calm children &/or pets down an hour before bedtime.

Maintain sleep healthy diet

Do not consume caffeine before bed because it is a stimulant and tends to over-stimulate the nervous system.

*Also, alcohol, fried foods, sugar, and spicy foods may cause dehydration or stomach pain.

Pray/Meditate

Prayer is a communication process that allows us to talk to God!

Meditation is the practice of intentionally quieting or focusing the mind. Prayer and meditation creates physiological changes that are similar to those that happen in your body during the early phases of sleep. Your pulse slows, blood pressure drops, and stress hormones decrease causing you to have sleep better.

As any entrepreneur knows the key to any strategy is consistency. By employing these strategic tips you can begin to have sleep success and increase your productivity for your business.

So go ahead

Sleep on it!

Empowerment is the privilege to offer yourself and your services to others to achieve an open, enlightened, and educated way of exploring new ideas. It is the tools to go higher and further than you can imagine in life with the clear understanding that you are not alone in this journey called life. The optimal goal of empowerment is to build one's confidence to a constant growing level you can live in consciously.”

Music Artist, Radio Personality, & Founder of “Pretty Pesos”

better known by her stage name a graduate of Tennessee State University Sigma Theda Soro.) multi-dimensional music artist (rapper/singer/ actress) from Ohio. She is also a, personality, writer, speaker, mentor, brand ambassador, event planner & host.

JiGi Deniro

male hip-hop artist, she has the skill set to create any genre of music; which sets her apart from the average rapper!

While on her musical to open up for is also the Founder of not only promote moves, but also business-minded, and superior talent of women.

I️ was born and raised in Dayton, Ohio. Growing up, music allowed me the safe place to express my emotions. Music is not only therapeutic, but has became a way of life. Through life’s Different experiences (Parents separation, first crush, first heartbreak, finding myself etc) music found Me. I️’ ve been singing and acting since age six; in high school it evolved into RAP!

We have a platform for underground artists from all over, our local community leaders, organizations, business owners, etc. On this show we put the spotlight on THE PEOPLE... We are The People’ s Choice. #DaytonUnited

The idea of being in control of my dreams in every aspect motivated me to create my own lane. To Me, Entrepreneurship means following the beat of your own drum. Some People would say I️’m all over the place and need to focus on one gift. However, I️ believe when you are the owner of your brand you just have a lot of PLAN A’s. Everything works together for the bigger picture... TO BE AN ENTERTAINER!

I️ coined the “Pretty Pesos” movement to motivate and empower other business-oriented and hardworking individuals to never stop believing in their dreams. Of course it’s heavily directed to my women demographic because more women are coming to the platform with more than just a pretty face. Women are now the highest growing group of entrepreneurs and we have the degrees to back it up. Pretty Pesos, LLC is a business umbrella that covers women empowerment events locally, physical and mental health, workout events for the community, motivational speaking opportunities, mentorship, night life events and more.

The Hip Hop Wake Up Radio Show is stationed at Wright State University.

One of my greatest accomplishments to date has to be when I️ was nominated for Best Female Artist for the Ohio Hip Hop Awards 2017. This definitely was a humbling moment for me. At that point I️ dropped two singles on all major streaming platforms. So to be recognized by my state for the moves I️’m making was an astonishing moment. Anytime you become nominated or mentioned that’ s exposure for your brand and an opportunity to network with other individuals who are working as well!

“I learned not to focus on coming back to Dayton as a bad thing but as a Positive! Now all my positive energy and hard work is rubbing off on the community.”

At times things may not go as smoothly as planned. In this music industry you will meet a lot of people who are well connected and fraudulent. I had an independent deal situation that went south and forced me to come back home to Dayton. However, in hindsight GOD was bringing me home to spend my last week with my brother. He passed due to tragic car accident and my world shattered.

Another, accomplishment would have to be the opportunity to go on my first tour opening up for Joey fatts, Dsavage, Eddy Baker Cutthroat tour (the east coast leg).

Through deep meditation and long talks with GOD daily, I grew to have some closure and to overcome this challenge. I learned not to focus on coming back to Dayton as a bad thing but as a Positive! Now all my positive energy and hard work is rubbing off on the community.

I’m blessed to be able to help spark the light and fire back into my brothers and sisters here at home.

As an entrepreneur, you take risk. You have to leap towards opportunities, but with that comes failure.

#DaytonUnited

Women empowerment is important to me because I AM WOMAN! When I️ look at my sister, I️ see myself .. There is a beautiful bond we all share that is MAGI️CAL.

My goal is to break down those walls daily that society has taught us to hate on one another and start uplifting my fellow sister and encouraging her. Let’s be the change we want to see.

I️ am the most popular loner you could ever meet. I️ have plenty of friends and family that I️ love to be around and I️’m a very social person. I️ LOVE PEOPLE. However, at the end of the day ... I️ can have a ball ALL BY MYSELF!

I LOVE PEOPLE. However, at the end of the day ... I can have a ball

I️ spend time with my family, meditate, & read. My family helps me unwind and get refueled. Meditation gives me clarity on things going on I️n my life and realize what is more important at the end of the day. PEACE LOVE & JOY.

I️ love reading. I️t can truly take my mind away from reality and allow myself to be entertained. Who knows may inspire my next song. Knowledge is Everything...
