Message from the Principal
A list of students who achieved an ATAR greater than 80 Congratulations to the dedicated and talented Class of 2024 who have achieved remarkable success.
As the only school in the greater west of Sydney to offer both the Higher School Certificate (HSC) and the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme, our senior Secondary School students at St Paul’s have the privilege of selecting the credential that aligns best with their skills and interests.
Combining our HSC and IB 2024 results, 12% of students achieved an ATAR above 90 and 33% achieved an ATAR above 80, reflecting strong performances across a diverse range of subjects. I especially congratulate the 2024 Dux of St Paul’s, Lily Lewis, who received an ATAR of 96.60.
Whether opting for the HSC or the IB Diploma in their senior years, students at St Paul’s receive an education tailored to equip them with essential skills for the twenty-first century. Our unwavering commitment to this objective is evident through our comprehensive teaching and learning initiatives throughout the years.
At St Paul’s, we lay the foundation for our students’ ongoing achievement, year after year, by focussing on nurturing and educating the whole child. Through an array of both curricular and cocurricular activities, our students grow academically, physically, emotionally, and spiritually within a secure and supportive environment. Empowered to engage in the full life of the school from Pre-Kindergarten to Year 12, St Paul’s students are inspired to flourish at every stage of their educational journey.
This publication aims to spotlight the achievements of many of our students as they transition beyond their St Paul’s experience. It is always inspiring to hear the hopes and aspirations of our graduating students for the future, and
we extend our heartfelt prayers for God’s blessings as they embark on this new chapter in life.
Irrespective of the paths they choose, it is fitting to acknowledge the pivotal role that parents, staff, and the wider St Paul’s community have played in shaping the interests and character of each student. The graduating class of 2024 departs St Paul’s with long-lasting relationships, strengthened through success and adversity. We eagerly anticipate seeing their future accomplishments and the positive impact they will make in their chosen fields.

Lily enjoyed all her subjects, but her favourites were Latin and Biology. Participating in cocurricular activities provided a good balance to her academic workload. She found success more attainable in a supportive and engaging learning environment. The large campus and impressive facilities, especially in the Arts Quarter and Innovation Learning Centre (ILC), made learning very engaging. Lily particularly benefited from the discussions and debates facilitated by her teachers, which helped deepen her understanding of the material.
It was a challenge for Lily to develop new habits and study skills to manage heavy workloads. However, she discovered the importance of effective and concise note-taking, especially by closely modelling her notes on each subject’s syllabus and objectives. Discussing class material with friends was also helpful, particularly when analysing English texts and solving problems in Mathematics. Finding good study spots, like local libraries or the ILC, which had fewer distractions than her spaces at home, was another key to her success.
Lily will be undertaking a Bachelor of Science and Advanced Studies at the University of Sydney (USYD), which she hopes will lead to a career in conservation or environmental policy making.

Over the past decade, our academic results for the NESA Higher School Certificate and the IB Diploma Programme have been exceptional. This year is no different, highlighting the remarkable ability and determination of our senior students.
Historically, the majority of students aspiring to attend university have been accepted into their first-choice institutions, including some of the most selective universities in Australia and overseas, such as UCLA, Hong Kong University, The London School of Economics, Harvard, and Cambridge. Additionally, students have progressed to private colleges, TAFE, and directly into the workforce across a wide range of career paths.
Our goal at St Paul’s is to prepare students for life beyond school. We encourage them to see beyond themselves and understand that they are part of something much larger. This perspective will help them flourish in whatever field they choose to study or work in.
