Book: “The Little Ice Age: How Climate Made History” by Brian Fagan Mark Carey specializes in environmental history and the history of science. Carey’s research has focused on several topics: climate change, natural disasters, glaciersociety interactions, mountaineering, water, and health/medicine. First ten people to sign up on the bulletin board posted outside the library will receive a free copy of the book! Refreshments will be provided. //////////////////////////////////////////////

ary Szybist is Assistant Professor of English at Lewis & Clark College, and received her MFA from the Iowa Writer’s Workshop. She is the author of Granted (2003), a finalist for the National Book Critics Circle Award. She recently received a fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts, and is one of two recipients of the 2009 Witter Brynner Award, selected by Poet Laureate Kay Ryan for the Library of Congress. Drinks and snacks will be served.
