Pastor’s Perspective I was glad when they said to me, “Let us go to the house of the Lord.” -Psalm 122:1 I love churches. My great-grandfather was a Pentecostal preacher who pioneered many congregations across Texas and Oklahoma in the early 1900’s. Though I never met him, his life and legacy inspire me. I’ve heard numerous stories of brush arbor revivals, powerful seasons of prayer and worship, and miraculous manifestations of God’s presence and power that occurred in those small Gospel outposts. I’ve always been enamored with church buildings. Years ago, my Mom worked as the administrator for our church, and my Dad served on the board, so as a young boy, my brother and I spent many days (and some nights) roaming the halls of the church. I still love touring and exploring them; I like to explore all of the ‘nooks and crannies,’ the classrooms, and even the back closets where the props and decorations are stored. I’ve been in full-time ministry at three different churches since 1999. During that time, I’ve attended hundreds of events at various church locations…funerals, weddings, Fine Arts Festivals, conferences, conventions, District Councils…the list goes on and on. I’ve walked through many church hallways,
sat in numerous sanctuaries, and prayed at several altars. I’m always excited to be in the house of God. But I’ve learned that nothing compares to being with the people of God. Hebrews 10:25 reminds us, “Let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of His return is drawing near.” Here at SpiritCHURCH, there is so much love, joy, and peace present when we surround ourselves with those called to be ‘the temple of the Lord’ (1 Corinthians 6:19). I believe that we have one of the most beautiful church buildings on the planet, but there is nothing more beautiful than when we gather together to worship and adore our Savior. Let us be glad every time we enter the house of the Lord! -Pastor Jason

Pastoral Transition
On Sunday, August 8th we will be having special “Installation” Worship Experiences officially welcoming the Fullerton family as our new Lead Pastors! We’ll have an intimate time worshiping the Lord together, followed by an official pastoral installation by our District Superintendent Darryl Wootton. Make plans to join for this pivotal moment in SpiritCHURCH history at 9:30 or 11AM.
As you know, family means everything to us here at SpiritCHURCH. We couldn’t be more excited to be welcoming the Fullerton family into our SpiritCHURCH family! If you haven’t had the chance to meet them yet, we got you covered! We are calling Sunday, August 15th “Celebrate The Fullertons” day. We’re building in extra time after both Worship Experiences so you and your family can hang out with the Fullertons. We know you will love them! On top of that, Sno Bros will be with us providing FREE snow cones for everyone! Since the Fullertons are new to Bartlesville, join our staff and deacons in welcoming them with gift cards to your favorite stores and restaurants. See you there! We know we say it often, but SpiritGROUPS are the heartbeat of our church. Jesus changed the world with a small group and we know you can change your world with one too. If you haven’t joined a SpiritGROUP yet, you are missing out on finding amazing community within our church. We’re officially re-launching SpiritGROUPS on Sunday, August 15th. We’re confident there’s a SpiritGROUP for everyone, so visit www.spirit.church/groups to see a list of all of our available groups. SpiritYOUTH Back To School Bash The Fullertons SpiritCHURCH | News
SpiritYOUTH is hosting their annual “Back To School Bash” on Sunday, August 15th from 5:30-7:30PM. This is always a fun event for all 6-12th graders. We know the month of August
can be a hectic time for a lot of families, but we want to make sure all of our our students have a fun night filled with games and JESUS before they head back to school. And did we mention that there will be free food? Make sure you mark your calendars so your student doesn’t miss this awesome event.

Honor Star Crowning
We are so proud of Kylyn Lyon for completing her Honor Star curriculum this year. “Stars” is a ministry that raises up young women and helps them reach their God given potential. Over the course of several years they learn about the world of truth (christian doctrine), the world around them (missions), the world about them (activities), and the world within them (character development). This is a huge accomplishment and we know God has incredible things in store for her. She will be attending a Crowning Ceremony on August 14th at 1PM at Crossroads Church in Oklahoma City. Join us in celebrating and praying for Kylyn!
What do you hope for? What kind of hope fills your heart? The dictionary defines hope as this: “A feeling of expectation and desire for a certain thing to happen.” The enemy tries to use the world to fill our hearts with pride, negativity, and shame. That void was only meant to be filled by Jesus. Join us on Sunday, August 22nd as Pastor Jason kicks off his inaugural message series titled “Living Hope”. During this series we’ll explore the book of 1 Peter for four weeks and unpack the everlasting hope that Jesus freely offers us all. This will be a series you and your family don’t want to miss!
New SpiritKIDS Message Series
Learning to be in control of our emotions is extremely important, especially at a young age. It’s important that our children not only know how to control their emotions, but how God intended for us to use them. SpiritKIDS is beginning a brand new message series on August 8th titled “Lava Luau” where they’ll learn biblical principles to gain a greater understanding of their emotions. Our mission is to share the love, joy, and peace of Jesus Christ with the least, last, and lost. There are so many lost people right here in Bartlesville. The Agape Mission is an organization that feeds our local homeless population and shares the love of Jesus with them. Since its inception, over 1,000,000 meals have been served to people in need right here in our city. Every year, the Agape Mission hosts an annual fundraiser called “Empty Bowls” at the Bartlesville Community Center. This year the event is on August 24th at 11AM. Tickets are $25 and you can purchase them at www.agapebartlesville.com. Bring the whole family and come hungry!
