Lodge 8, Weimar meets May 24 Lodge 8, Weimar, intends to meet on Monday, May 24, 2021, at 6 p.m. at Oakridge Smokehouse Restaurant in Schulenburg, Texas. A memorial service for Lodge 8, Weimar members who passed away during 2019 and 2020 will be led by Anton Machacek. All members are invited and encourage to attend. Lodge 24, Cyclone: Ted Lange, Mollie B and Squeezebox returns May 21 Brush off your dancing shoes - which have most probably been in the closet for over a year now - and get ready to dance to Ted Lange and Mollie B and Squeezebox who are coming to Flag Hall SPJST Lodge 24, Cyclone in a few weeks. Tables are really filling up with people who want to get out and get back to dancing. We were very happy that Mollie B called us and asked us to host her dance which will be held on Friday, May 21, 2021, with dancing from 7 to 11 p.m. The doors will open at 6 p.m., and the kitchen will be serving those delicious sausage plates, including green beans and parsley new potatoes. The bar will also have a variety of your favorite beverages cold and ready to quench your thirst. The smell of sausage cooking in the kitchen will fill the hall with that good

flavor. So come hungry, and plan to have a wonderful meal before you start dancing. Things are starting to look a little like “the good ol’ times.” Ted and Mollie B always put on a wonderful show playing some of your favorite tunes. Tickets will be $20 at the door that night if seats are available. It has been so sad to see the dark dance hall closed for more than a year. Lodge 30, Taiton honors members at appreciation banquet Dear Vestnik Readers, The SPJST Lodge 30, Taiton April meeting was called to order on Sunday, March 28, 2021, at Taiton Community Center by President Yvonne Marcaurele. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by youth members, and a moment of silence was observed for any sick or departed members. Minutes for the March meeting were then read and approved. Five officers, five adult members, 15 youth members were in attendance. Guests were Taiton Community Center Board Members. Treasurer Lisa Bubela reported on the financial standing of the lodge. She reported that our yearly donations need to be sent out. Fraternal Activities Coordinator (FAC) Patsy Baker informed the members of upcoming events around the state. She told the members that April 10 is Texas Trash Off. It was discussed and decided that we would not be able to participate, but would do our annual highway cleaning at a later date.

Lodge 25, Ennis meets May 13 Dear Readers, Lodge 25, Ennis is participating in the 2021 National Polka Festival activities. The Mikulas followed by the Ennis Czech Boys are scheduled to play on Saturday, May 29 beginning at 4 p.m. The kitchen will be open serving food prepared by Joe Galetka and his crew. Plans are to have smoked barbecue plates along with klobase and sauerkraut boats. Betty will be making and serving her famous kolaches and strudels. Scholarship Opportunity High school seniors who are members may apply for a local lodge scholarship opportunity. Call Betty Macalik for eligibility information and the application. At its quarterly meeting on Saturday, April 24, 2021, at SPJST Home Office in Temple, Czech Educational Foundation of Texas (CEFT) presented a “Resolution of Thankfulness” to SPJST for providing a safe environment with social distancing for CEFT members attending meetings in person and an online venue for those unable to travel during the 2020-2021 era of Covid restrictions.
