Publisher's Note This issue, touches on the subject closest to our hearts - Eco. And that takes us to some remarkable places, notable for their natural and or cultural beauty.
05
What makes these destinations worthy is the fact that the governments have realised the importance of preservation – whether its for the preservation of what they have for future generations, or simply to attract travellers who are most conscious of their carbon footprints – and have mandated the protection of swathes of forests and wilderness, and encouraging (if not funding) rural tourism to boost the selfsustainability of local communities.
the remote Cook Islands; more than just sun and sand, their local culture make them well worth the journey. And bragging rights as one of the most remote atolls in the world. We follow up the wildlife scene in Sri Lanka, where we visit Yala National Park – possibly the best leopard-spotting destination on earth. Then there is Nepal, where we soak in the scenery from a bicycle.
America, hitting the three neighbouring countries of Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Panama. While Costa Rica’s the current bigwig in the realm of ecotourism, its neighbours – especially Nicaragua are becoming rising stars of their own.

We end our issue with a trip to Bhutan – a perennial favourite of its well-preserved cultural heritage that's enveloped with lush Himalayan wilderness and colourful architecture. Until next time, Happy Trails!

AUSSIE RULES KICK OFF IN HONG KONG
On May 16, 2014, one of the most successful Australian Rules Football Clubs, Port Adelaide Football Club, held an inaugural luncheon at the Hong Kong Football Club to introduce their promotion plans of Australian Rules Football in Hong Kong and China.

MR KEITH THOMAS
Chief Executive Port Adelaide Football Club
Australian Rules Football (AFL) is one of the most popular games in Australia with more than 400,000 regular attendance and over a million viewers inside and outside Australia. According to Mr. Keith Thomas, Chief Executive of Port Adelaide Football Club, Hong Kong is a very potential place for this sport to grow. Their plan is to set up a Hong Kong Advisory Board in September this year and join forces with the Hong Kong Football Club to hold regular meetings at the club, conduct training to potential players, and establish community programs.
bringing their high performance education program and the traditional values of Port Adelaide Football Club to Hong Kong, Australian Rules Football will become more popular in Hong Kong in the near future.
