On the other hand we congratulate Equatoria Guinea for successfully hosting and qualifying for the semifinals of this tournament in their country despite becoming late as a replacement for Morocco who withdrew their hosting rights, citing Ebola threats as their main reason for their withdrawal. We also take this moment to congratulate Portia “Bashin” Modise for making a strong come-back to football, securing herself her 100th goal after more than 100 games. FINALLY our first edition on the 2015 calendar is here, and hopefully you will enjoy this ride with us as we look forward to the new year ahead. The year kicked off with our senior football team, Bafana Bafana trying their best of luck to revive their glory days on the African continent. That dream however failed to materialised as the team was shown as early exit out of this tournament known as CAF Orange Africa Cup of Nations which is underway in Equatoria Guinea. Despite these setbacks, head coach Shakes Mashaba is still positive that his campaign to rebuild for the team for 2018 and 2022 FIFA World Cups is all in a

METROPOLITAN U19 PREMIER CUP PLAY-OFFS TO BRING EXCITEMENT IN MITCHELLS PLAIN The community of Mitchell's Plein should brace themselves for another action packed, football-filled weekend as the play-offs for the Metropolitan U19 Premier Cup return to one of South Africa's most famous townships, to determine the clubs that will make their way into the round robin phase of the exciting youth football tournament this weekend, January 31 and February 1. The play-offs of the oldest and highly successful youth football tournament in Southern Africa will see 84 teams square off for a spot in the round robin phase on the four fields at the Bayhill Legacy Grounds at the Rocklands High School over two days between February 7 and 8. In the build up to the Metropolitan U-19 Premier Cup, U-19 teams in the Western Province play against each other in the playoffs for a spot in the round robin phase. Winners from this weekend's play-offs secure a berth in the round robin phase scheduled for the first weekend of February - whereby the 15 winners from that last phase, will book themselves a place to the annual youth football festival over the Easter weekend. "Nowhere is the passion for the beautiful more genuine than here at home and the Metropolitan U-19 Premier Cup enables young footballers to realise their potential both as players and young adults," said Dr Khanyi Nzukuma, chief executive of Metropolitan Retail. "The tremendous turnout of support and interest from local clubs over the past 26 years is a shining example of the

community spirit that gives us our unique identity as South Africans," he continued. Local club sides that have featured in the renowned Metropolitan U-19 Premier Cup previously, face a make or break tie this weekend, including Tygeberg FC, Belhar Spurs and Cape United, pitted against tough opponents in the form of Atlantic National, Crusaders and Cape Town Fusion respectively. Other mouth-watering ties that will provide excitement to football lovers in Mitchell's Plein include the PPG Langa vs Saltriver and Leeds United vs United games, both to be played on Saturday, while local rivals Bluedown Spurs and Khayelitsha FC face off on Sunday. The Metropolitan U-19 Premier Cup, which has grown from humble beginnings 27 years ago to currently being one of the premier youth sporting events in Easter, has produced many star players that have gone on to make a name for themselves in the Premier Soccer League and a b r o a d . J u s t r e c e n t l y, midfielders Thulani Serero (Ajax Amsterdam, Holland), Ayanda Patosi (Lokeren, Belgium), Siyanda Xulu (FC Rostov, Russia) (Kamohelo Mokotjo, FC Twente) cut their teeth at this prestigious youth tournament. Before the current generation, former Bafana Bafana such as Benni McCarthy, Mathew Booth and Moeneeb Josephs, graduated from this tournament as well. "Our relationship with this popular event dates back to 1990, and remains a key driver of

Metropolitan's commitment to effecting meaningful progress at grassroots level. The strong sense of community orientation that has been the cornerstone of the very identity of the event is what really resonated with us. It speaks to Metropolitan's conviction that a successful society is established on solid foundations and that investing in communities and creating conditions for young people to thrive will steer us all in the direction of a positive future," he concluded. Once all the play-offs and round robin ties have been settled, over 30 000 spectators are excepted to descent to Erica Park in Belhar during the Easter weekend to witness the best qualifiers from the Western Cape region playing alongside some of the top academies and junior PSL teams, competing to be crowned the 2015 Metropolitan U-19 premier Cup champions. "It is thanks to the investment and overwhelming support of our partners, Metropolitan, that this historic youth football tournament has grown from humble beginnings into the flagship youth event in the c o u n t r y, s a i d t o u r n a m e n t director PJ Williams." We wish all the teams the best of luck during the play-off stages in their quest to play at the annual football festival, which remains a platform for the young football talent in South Africa to be nurtured for the professional ranks," added Williams. The Metropolitan U19 Premier Cup remains a platform for talented players to be spotted and recruited by the top clubs.

CASTLE FOOTBALL ACADEMY 23-MAN SQUAD ANNOUNCED After two days of intense t ra i n i n g at t h e B a l fo u r Alexandra Football Club grounds, the Castle Lager Football Academy coaches, Neil Tovey and Phil Masinga, assisted by another former Bafana Bafana legend, Helman Mkhalele together with Calvin Petersen and Thomas Nare, selected the 23 players who will continue in the academy camp till the 2nd of February. The 45 players who were selected after months of scouting in the SAB regional league and Varsity Football had two days to impress the coaches in the bid to make the final 23 man squad.

Before naming the final 23, N e i l To v e y h a d s o m e encouraging words to the talented youngsters who hope to one day play in the premier league. Tovey said “We saw a lot of talent in these two days. We had a tough deliberation with the scouts on deciding which players should stay and which ones should go home. Some players stood out more than others, but at the end we had to make the hard decision. Those who did not make the final 23, your football career doesn't end here, you must continue working hard”. The 23 players have a tough

two weeks ahead of them as they will be taken through intense training methods and playing friendly matches against PSL sides, BidvestWits, SuperSport United, Mpumalanga Black Aces, Orlando Pirates and NFD side, Highlands Park. For the players, this an opportunity to work harder with the hope of being noticed by PSL and NFD teams. They have gone past the first hurdle and ready for a tough two weeks. “It feels great to be part of the 23 players, it was not an easy two days, but I'm looking forward to playing against

professional teams. This an opportunity to showcase my talent and hope to get invited to trails with some of the teams,” said an ecstatic Malesela Monama, who plays for Limpopo based Yster United in the SAB regional league. The initiative aims to give young talented amateur players aged between 18 and 21 exposure into the professional football set-up and an opportunity to be scouted by PSL and NFD teams, and one day represent South Africa in the senior man's team (Bafana Bafana).

SAFA LAUDS CASTLE LAGER FOOTBALL ACADEMY

The South African Football Association (SAFA) has acknowledged the critical role the Castle Lager Academy is playing in finding and developing the future stars of our national football teams. Technical Director, Fran HiltonSmith expressed SAFA's gratitude and praised Castle Lager for the initiative during an Academy training session and match against NFD side, Highlands Park last week. “This is an incredible project to identify talent, which is one of the reason why I am here to look at the available talent with a view to feed some of these players into our Under 20 national team and Under 23 Olympic squad,” said HiltonSmith. “It is through projects like this that talented players are identified all over the country and brought into a camp like this where they

spend a couple of days playing top class football, guided by some of the top coaches in the country. It's an incredible effort by Castle Lager and the players we are seeing are the future of South African Football,” continued HiltonSmith. With Bafana Bafana being knocked out of the African Cup of Nations, the attention will now be on the Under 23 national team as they prepare for the 2016 Rio Olympic qualifiers. Hilton-Smith says that Castle Lager has made it easier for the national team coaches to scout for players to be part of the Olympics squad. The Castle Lager Football Academy campaign was started in 2012 in partnership with SAFA and the SABC. The main objective of the campaign is to discover young

talented players who could potentially be signed by Premier Soccer League and the National First Division (PSL and NFD) teams and one day might represent South Africa in the Senior Men's team (Bafana Bafana). The nationwide search, which is part of the scouting process of the initiative, offers players from the 30 000 strong SAB League, which is the largest SAFA backed senior football development programme and Varsity football, the opportunity to perform in front of coaches and scouts from the PSL and NFD teams. The campaign has yielded success, with several players from the past two seasons being offered contracts by PSL and NFD teams. Such great stories include the signing of Siphiwe Mtsweni from Secunda by Kaizer Chiefs

at the beginning of the 2013/14 PSL season, Chase Parsons and Deolin Mekoa respectively by SuperSport United and Maritzburg United for the 2014/15 season, while Rafiq de Goede was signed by Vasco da Gama from the NFD. The Castle Lager Football Academy camp will continue till the 2nd of February 2015. Thus far the selected 23 player squad has played friendly matches with NFD side, Highlands Park, PSL sides, Mamelodi Sundowns and AmaTuks, beating Highlands Park 5 – 2, AmaTuks 1 – 0 and suffering a 2 – 1 loss to Sundowns. They are due to play Gavin Hunt's Bidvestwits on Thursday, 29 January, and take on Durban based team AmaZulu in their last match on Saturday, 31 January.

MASSIVE BOOST IN PRIZE MONEY FOR SPAR GRAND PRIX SERIES South Africa's top woman roadrunners have a lot to look forward to this year, with massive increases in the prize money for the SPAR Women's 10km Challenge Grand Prix series. The Grand Prix series was introduced in 2007, and has become South Africa's biggest and most prestigious women's road-running series. The top runners in the five Challenge races held around the country earn Grand Prix points from each race. The 2015 winner will pocket a cheque for a whopping R150 000. The second prize has been increased by R20 000 to R50 000, and the third prize is now worth R30 000. There are cash prizes for the top 15 runners on the points table, making it worthwhile for runners to compete in all five races. The top runners in the different age categories will also receive increased prize money, with the first on the ladder in her category receiving R4000. The second prize is worth R3000 and the third prize is R1500. Five runners have claimed the Grand Prix title over its eightyear history. Rene Kalmer, the

first winner, is also the most successful, with three Grand Prix titles to her name. This is hardly surprising – Kalmer, who first competed in 1998, has won more Spar Challenge races than any other runner. Irvette van Zyl has won the Grand Prix twice, and Poppy Mlambo, Mapaseka Makhanya and last year's winner, Diana-Lebo Phalula,

have each won it once. The financial incentive has done wonders for the Spar Challenge series, with more runners eager to earn points by competing in as many races as possible. But the races are also very popular with the elite runners because of their very nature. “The thing about the Challenge races is that the women are the heroes,” said Sonja Laxton, who has run 81. “In mixed races, the top woman is often surrounded by men as she crosses the finish line, whereas in the Spar races, she is the first to break the tape, and that is a really great feeling,” she said. “There is always a wonderful vibe at the Challenge races, and they are a lot of fun”. Laxton said the Challenge races had done a lot to encourage women to take up road running or walking. “They enter the race, and then feel they have to do some training, and the next thing they know, they've

been bitten by the bug,” she laughed. “Women who might have been a bit wary of taking part in a mixed race feel more comfortable about competing in a women's race.” S PA R G r o u p M a r k e t i n g Executive, Mike Prentice said the Grand Prix series was one of the grocery giant's most successful sponsorships. “The Challenge races fit perfectly with our philosophy of getting involved in the community, and the Grand Prix is the cherry on the top. We are excited about increasing the prize money as we believe this will help the races to continue to attract South Africa's top runners,” he said. The first race in the 2015 Grand Prix series will be run in Cape Town on March 29. The Port Elizabeth race takes place on May 9 and the Durban event is on June 7. The Pretoria race, which is the only afternoon race, takes place on Saturday August 29, and the final race on the calendar is in Johannesburg on October 11.

DR CONGO COME FROM BEHIND TO WIN CLASSIC TIE DR Congo ended the fairytale run of neighbours Congo Brazzaville on Saturday when they came from behind to win 4-2 and qualify for the semi-finals of the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations. Congo, who were only reinstated in the qualifying tournament of this competition after Rwanda were disqualified for fielding an ineligible player, led this battle of the Congos 2-0 before DRC fought back to win with four goals in the last 25 minutes. Following a flat first 45 minutes in a largely deserted Estadio de Bata, this derby clash came to life after the break, with Ferebory Dore volleying Congo in front 10 minutes into the second half. Thievy Bifouma then doubled their

lead just after the hour mark, but the Leopards were back in the game on 65 minutes when Dieumerci Mbokani found the net. Loteteka Bokila equalised with 15 minutes remaining before substitute Joel Kimwaki Mpela put Florent Ibenge's side ahead and Mbokani then clinched the win.The result sees DR Congo advance to the last four for the first time since 1998, while the adventure ends here for Claude Le Roy's team. The first half never really got going, with both sides playing with caution and at a slow pace. Congo almost went in front just before the interval, though, when a free-kick from outside the box by the towering Dore passed just over

the bar. But, in contrast, the second half was a remarkable affair. In the 52nd minute, Mbokani headed down for Bokila, who crashed a volley against the underside of the bar, before Congo opened the scoring at the other end moments later. Delvin Ndinga swung a free-kick into the box and Dore got in behind his marker to volley past veteran goalkeeper Robert Kidiaba. Bifouma then doubled the Red Devils' lead in the 62nd minute when he latched on to a loose ball inside the area after Kidiaba had saved from Dore to grab his third goal of the tournament. However, DR Congo pulled a goal back on 65 minutes when Mbokani

was left with a simple finish following superb work by Yannick Bolasie on the left. The Leopards now had the momentum on their side and Bokila made up for his earlier miss when he turned inside the box and f i r e d h o m e t h e e q u a l i s e r. For a short while extra time loomed, but then Kimwaki put DR Congo ahead for the first time when he rose unmarked to head home a free-kick past the stranded Christoffer Mafoumbi in goal. And Mbokani got his brace to complete the turnaround in stoppage time as he finished after Mafoumbi had stopped his initial effort.

BETTER EATING MEANS IMPROVED HEALTH Take these useful tips to heart and notice the difference quickly FASCINATING FACTS

Building lean muscle is the key You'll notice the improvement in your immune system, how you feel and how your energy and sports performance gets better quickly when you start paying attention to the quantity and the quality of the protein that you eat on a frequent basis. Fast foods, and especially foods fried with crispy crumbs around it, and that old favourite, fried chips, can play havoc with your system, If you indulge in these energy depleting foods, it will take a toll on your health and your endurance. The key to a healthy eating plan is to have complete proteins, such as South African Pork, in your eating plan. The healthy fats found in the fat layer on the outside of pork is also good for you, as it is a rich source of vitamins A, D, E and K, all very important to keep the machinery of the human body functioning at it's optimal best.

What is a complete protein? A complete protein is a food that contains all the essential amino acids needed for optimum health. Plant proteins such as soya beans and grains all have only

a few amino acids, and it is very difficult for people and especially sports people, to obtain the right kind of nutritional input for protein with these plant- or grain based proteins. Excellent sources of complete protein is pork, lamb, beef, chicken and fish. These good sources differ in their vitamin and mineral content, so it's best to include quite a few of these foods frequently in a health enhancing eating plan.

Pork is the world's no 1 choice. In most countries with a well developed pork production industry, pork is the most frequently enjoyed meat on the menu. Pork is a white meat with very little fat inside the lean muscle fibers. If you find any pork cuts in the meat cabinet with too much fat on, simply ask the butchery staff to cut the excess fat off for you. Otherwise, use a sharp knife and trim the fat off at home. In this regard it is similar to chicken, where most of the fat is contained in the skin of the chicken. Fresh pork in South Africa is a modern, nutritious and 100%

White Meat Many people do not realize that pork is a white meat, providing an abundance of healthy, poly-unsaturated fatty acids which are really beneficial for good health. For people who do not like to eat much fat, it is so easy to cut off the outer fat layer from any cut of pork, as most of the fat sits on the outside of any pork cut. Because it is a white meat, pork should never be overcooked.

The golden rule The thicker the packaging and the less air inside, the longer you can freeze it. If you buy pre-packed small packets of pork in a butchery that are not vacuum packed, it's best to freeze it for only 2 – 3 weeks. Ask the butchery staff if you are not sure if a pork packet has been vacuum packed or not. If some of the cuts in your bulk pack has a fat layer on that you consider too fat, ask the butchery staff to trim this for you. Ask the butchery staff to cut any stewing pork into 2,5 cm cubes (not too small) and to package it in 500 g packets. Ask the butchery staff to vacuum pack the different cuts for you according to your preferences. (Examples: 6 loin chops in a vacuum packet, or a mixture of different types of individual braai cuts such as rashers and chops together in a vacuum pack.) Each roast should be vacuum packed on it's own. Packet sizes of 500 g pork mince or stewing pork or stir-fry pork strips make it easy to use. When vacuum packed they will last much longer in the freezer.

Use labels (and lose less) Every packet of pork going into your freezer should have a label on it. Write this on the label: date, which cut (example: pork mince) and weight (example: 500 g). Use a permanent marker or thick ballpoint pen. Keep a box of labels in your kitchen drawer for this

SUZUKI CELERIO: XTRA LARGE SMALL CAR

Suzuki's all-new Celerio, which replaces the popular Alto mini hatchback in South Africa this month, has been created to provide buyers of small cars with a generous and enjoyable motoring experience. The newcomer proves that compact doesn't need to be cramped, and that space and style don't have to cost a fortune. Developed for world markets, and already a top seller in India, the Celerio reflects Suzuki's unrivalled expertise as a producer of compact cars and SUVs with a concept that combines the user-friendly dimensions and wieldy road manners of a small hatchback with a surprisingly spacious interior and a voluminous luggage compartment. At the same time, the Celerio's efficient drivetrain delivers zesty dynamics, combined with economical fuel consumption. Its low CO2 exhaust emissions also endow the new Celerio with impressive environmental credentials. Measuring just 3,6 metres long

and 1,6 metres wide, the new Celerio is unmistakably a member of the mini hatchback clan, making it the perfect choice for zipping through city traffic or squeezing into tight parking spaces. However, the impression of space when stepping into the cockpit of the Celerio is quite at odds with its compact footprint. One of the reasons is a height of 1,53 metres, which ensures an unusual level of headroom. And thanks to an e x t e n d e d wheelbase, short overhangs and space-saving suspension, interior space is maximised – as is the luggage compartment. The Celerio matches its efficient packaging to attractive, modern styling. A prominent chrome grille with broad, horizontal b a r s i s t h e dominating feature,

while bold headlights add to the car's expressive 'face'. The Celerio features Suzuki's CICO (Curve In, Curve Out) design. Strong style lines demarcate the flanks and the shoulder line of the hatchback, contributing to a sleek and streamlined impression. The rear is dominated by the large tailgate, which opens down to bumper level for convenient

access to the cargo compartment. A further hallmark of the new Celerio is its K10B threecylinder engine. The 1,0-litre unit combines ample urge with high efficiency, ensuring zippy performance and excellent fuel consumption. Rated maximum power is 50 kW at 6 000 r/min, combined with a torque peak of 90 Nm at a relatively low 3 500 r/min. Depending on model, the combined cycle fuel consumption figure of the Celerio is as low as 4,6 litres/100 km, with an associated CO 2 emissions rating of just 108 g/km – well below the emissions tax threshold. That translates into an impressive operating range of more than 750 km from a single 35 litre tank. The Celerio is the first Suzuki model to be fitted with the marque's new automated manual gearbox, which allows clutchless operation of a manual gearbox without the energy losses usually associated with conventional torque

WE ARE ON TRACK WITH OUR BAFANA Bafana returned home to a warm and supportive welcome by many at the OR Tambo Airport after their first round exit from the CAF Orange Africa Cup of Nations Equatorial Guinea 2015 tournament. Bafana Bafana finished bottom of the group with a single point after losing two matches, 3-1 and 2-1 to Algeria and Ghana respectively. Their single point was against Senegal (1-1). Mashaba spoke to SAFA.net at the squad's base camp in Mongomo, Equatorial Guinea. Coach you have had time to sit and reflect on Bafana Bafana's exit from AFCON 2015, what's your overall assessment? A: Yes, although we had some time to look back at our performance and reflect on the tournament, it was not enough. The process will continue when we get back home so we can map our way forward. People need to be reminded where we came from, where we are in a very short space of time and where we are going. We also need to look at SAFA's Vision 2022. When we started, the First Phase was to build a team which I think we have managed to do. The Second Phase was to qualify the team for AFCON 2015 which we also managed by defeating Sudan, Congo and denying African champions Nigeria chance to participate in the tournament. After qualifying, our hopes were high and we expected even more success from our team. I understand why South Africans are disappointed. We are also very disappointed but we are not discouraged because we played the top countries on the continent with a wealth of experience. We still competed and I believe if we used all our scoring chances we would still be in the tournament.

The first two games of the tournament would have sealed our participation in the next stage, but we allowed them to come back into the matches we should have easily won. The experience gained in this tournament will assist all of us. I strongly believe we are still on track regarding our mission and mandate to build a formidable team for 2018. We started on a high note by winning games in the building phase and some of the players might not yet be at the level we want them; but I am confident they will grow and take us to another level. People are talking about Bafana Bafana not only in South Africa but on the continent as well. We have made our presence felt in the tournament. We would have loved to see the team progressing to the next round as it would have given us a better platform to test our character as a team. With time we will get better and make all South Africans proud. Q: Did everything go according to plan with preparations? A: We appreciate the contribution of everyone and

tournament you can see we have a long life span. I know people wanted results. We did very well with the qualifiers raising a lot of hope in the process. It is quite an achievement that we qualified in the manner we did. The players have established themselves and I will not be surprised if one or two gets an overseas offer. If you look at the stats, we were the fastest and quickest attacking team, but of Q: Do you have regrets about course there are some areas the players you selected for that we need to work on when we get back home. the tournament? A: No, not at all. If you look at our selection criteria the main Q: Lack of experience from thing is current form. We had to your young squad, did it play register players on time and had a role in the team exiting to build the confidence of the early? squad we have, and yes there is A: Let me take you back to the a possibility that by the time we Algeria game, 90 percent of were about to leave, one other those players play in big teams player would have raised his but we exposed them – had we hand. But still I don't have any scored the two goals and r e g r e t s a b o u t t h e t e a m penalty we would be talking a selection; the players who are different story. We took so many shots at goals but did not here have done well. If you listen to the CAF officials convert them into goals. At the and everybody around here, back the boys stood firm, the they are raving about the team – m i d d l e w a s s o l i d b u t a very good and young team. If unfortunately we conceded you look at the average age of some rather soft goals. this team and others in the there will always be opinions, especially after the fact. We did the best we could to put together a team at short notice but were stopped in our tracks by some injuries, loss of form, players not playing in their clubs and also those that did not heed the national team call ups. Having said that, I need to compliment all the players that are here for the good job they have done.

MISSION - MASHABA the first and second games.

Q: Some people say if some overseas-based players were here things would have improved for Bafana Bafana…. A: We have four overseasbased players in our squad – Andile Jali, Anele Ngcongca, Darren Keet and Dean Furman. Do we have to call all the overseas-based players and forget about our local-based players? We have to blend them into a unit. The latter is correct and that is what we did. And those who were here from overseas commanded regular positions. I would have been worried to call them from abroad and put them on the bench. On the other hand, how long have we played in these tournaments with the overseasbased players and not getting the required or desired results? It should not be a question of a player is based overseas so he walks into the team. People need to fight for positions and that is why this team has achieved so much. No one is guaranteed a place. It is a fact that if you look at the other teams in the tournament who have overseas-based players they are notch ahead because of experience. While looking forward, we also have to look back at what works

for us, what happened in the past and how we can use it going forward. We should not bank on players because of where they play. These boys have achieved, and if anyone is feeling bad we are feeling the same, if anyone is disappointed we are there too. When people's hopes were raised, ours were raised even more because we could see the light at the end of the tunnel. Why don't we give these boys a pat on the back and encourage them because this is the future team. And we are building a team of players who understand what it is to be patriotic.

centre of the spine, Furman and Jali were always there. We didn't want to rattle that. We made some changes on the wings and the strike force, while the defence was more often than not forced changes if you think of Rivaldo and Thulani Hlatshwayo. All in all, what we were doing is about building a team.

Q: Mission AFCON 2017 and FIFA World Cup 2018, are we still on course? A: Oh yes for sure, we are on course. Let's look at the kind of players we have here, half of them was for the first time they come to such a tournament. When we won AFCON in 1996 Orlando Pirates had won a CAF tournament the previous year – and some the players in the Bafana Bafana squad were from Pirates. It is the experience they gathered in the short space of time, and they knew what to expect. This tournament is part of that journey in giving players the needed exposure. Over the years we have been blowing horns for other nations, now we have our U20 who have just won a trophy in Russia which shows we are going somewhere. It says the future is bright for us because those are the players who will graduate to U23 and then to Bafana Bafana. Mind you some of the players in the U20 squad were also part of the Bafana Bafana squad a few months ago – like Fagrie Lakay and Dumisani Mbisi. In time we will be able to say we have the players who have gone through the ranks of junior national teams and they know it all.

Q: Did the injuries at the back also play a role? A: I was shocked when Rivaldo got injured because it was early in the match. Then Eric Mathoho got a cut on the head and Thulani Hlatshwayo suffered concussion, and it Q: You used different players disturbed our rythym but at the Q: Do you regard exiting the in the three matches – same time they made us strong. group stages as failure? A: Actually no, we don't see this especially the goalkeepers? A: I did so in a bid to find the Q: Before departure you said as a failure. We see this as a number one goalkeeper in the Bafana Bafana is coming phase we must go through in country, which we don't have at back with the trophy, do you order to achieve our goal. This the moment. If we don't give think you over promised as setback has sharpened us for the future.
