Sagrada Familia _ 9:30AM 401 Calle Mallorca Sagrada Familia is a Roman Catholic church designed by Catalan architect Antoni Gaudí (1852–1926). Although incomplete, the church is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and in November 2010 was consecrated and proclaimed a minor basilica by Pope Benedict XVI. Though construction of Sagrada Família had commenced in 1882, Gaudí became involved in 1883, taking over the project and transforming it with his architectural and engineering style—combining Gothic and curvilinear Art Nouveau forms.

Casa Mila _ 3:30PM La Pedrera—'the quarry'—was the name an astounded population gave to this completely unique building. It could be compared with the steep cliff walls in which African tribes build their cave-like dwellings. The wavy facade, with its large pores, reminds one also of an undulating AD@BG NE iMD R@MC ENQLDC ENQ DW@LOKD by a receding dune. The honeycombs made by industrious bees might also spring to the mind of the observer viewing the snake-like ups-and-downs that run through the whole building. In this last secular building which he constructed before devoting all his energies to the Sagrada Familia, Gaudi created a paradox: an @QSHiBH@K ATS M@STQ@K ATHKCHMF VGHBG V@R simultaneously a summary of all the forms that he has since become famous for. The roof sports an imitation of the bench from Guell Park as well as an ever more impressive series of bizarre chimney stacks. Casa Batlló Passeig de Gràcia, 43, 08007 Barcelona, Spain 1. Roadways around the park to service the intended houses were designed by Gaudí as structures jutting out from the steep hillside or running on viaducts, with separate footpaths in arcades formed under these structures. This minimized the intrusion of the roads, and Gaudí designed them using local stone in a way that integrates them closely into the landscape. His structures echo natural forms, with columns like tree trunks supporting branching vaulting under the roadway, and the curves of vaulting and alignment of sloping columns designed in a similar way to his Church of Colònia Güell so that the inverted catenary arch shapes form perfect compression structures

The old Santa Caterina food market revealed a gleaming, undulating and brightly coloured roof designed to be seen from the air. The roof is attached to the building by a wooden structure, and a vast mosaic of coloured ceramic pieces, representing fruit and vegetables, boldly breaks with the traditional look of a market. The market has always been characterised by a desire to innovate. Santa Caterina Market was built in 1845 to provide the neighbourhood’s blue-collar community with foodstuffs.

Gas Natural Tower (B) Gas Natural Tower Ronda Litoral Dominating the Barceloneta skyline, The Gas Natural Tower is one of the most unusual and innovative buildings in Barcelona. The Gas Natural Tower's cutting edge asymetrical design was the brainchild of Catalan architect Enric Miralles and the Italian architect Benedetta Tagliabue. Since its construction in 2006 the Gas Natural Tower has had its share of admirers and detractors, making it one of the most controversial examples of modern architecture in the city. Its aggressive, gravity-defying design might strike some onlookers as ugly, but from every angle it is an extraordinary visual spectacle worth getting up close to and walking around.

The Barceloneta Market -located at the heart of the traditional, maritime neighborhood- has been rehabilitated after several years of decay. It was built in the late 19th century by architect Rovira i Trias. The iron roof and façades were the most interesting features of the old market, so Miàs -an excollaborator of Miralles- dismantled the old metallic structure and restored it, adding new parts, resulting in a multiple, fragmented roof. Fundación Joan Miró Parc de Montjuïc, s/n, 08038 Barcelona, Spain
The idea for the foundation was made in 1968 by Joan Miró. Miró formed the foundation with his friend Joan Prats.[1] Miró wanted to create a new building that would encourage particularly younger artists to experiment with contemporary art. The building was designed by Josep Lluís Sert to ensure that this work could also be made available to the public and exhibited. He designed the building with courtyards and terraces and to create a natural path for visitors to move through the building.

Designed by Santiago Calatrava, construction on the tower began in 1989 and was completed in 1992. The white tower was built for Telefónica to transmit television coverage of the 1992 Summer Olympics Games in Barcelona. The 136 m (446 ft) tower is located in the Olympic park, and represents an athlete holding the Olympic Flame. The base is covered with trencadís, Gaudí's mosaic technique created from broken tile shards. Because of the tower's orientation, it works also as a giant sundial, which uses the Europa square to indicate the hour. Fundación Joan Miró Parc de Montjuïc, s/n, 08038 Barcelona, Spain 1. Plaça de Carles Buïgas, Barcelona, Spain
It was built for the 1929 World Fair by Carles Buïgas on the site where The Four Columns by Josep Puig i Cadafalch had stood before being demolished in 1928. Using extremely artisanal methods, up to thirty water arrangements could be used with different colours. In the 1980s music was added, and shortly before the 1992 Olympic Games it was completely renovated; despite this, the fountain still has a large part of the original mechanisms.

The building claims to transmit an iconic value that is marking its public use. A skin has been designed that besides its formal language and its special character based on folds, expresses several characteristics of identity related to the activities of this sector. Given the building’s geometrical complexity, the façade is divided into two skins. The inner skin is a sealed envelope based on a light curtain-wall solution with aluminum and glass panels designed to fully meet all acoustic, thermal and sealing requirements. The exterior façade acts as a second skin that provides texture and accommodates the tower’s variable geometry. The skin is made of independent aluminum tubes whose ends are attached to ball-and-socket joints that allow for the desired torsion.

The Can Gili Footbridge provides a direct route between the densely populated area of can Gilli and the greener Terra Alta, which were previously only connected by a bridge on their outskirts. The asymmetric bridge is iMHRGDC HM VD@SGDQDC RSDDK HKKTLHM@SDC AX LEDs and has a treated timber decking. The steel structure took four days to assemble from components manufactured off-site. The footbridge next to the junction of the Sant Ferran St. with Verge de la Mercè St. and Sant Marc St. at the Terra Alta side, was strongly conditioned by the asymmetric shape of the cross section of the road trench.

Can Framis, a factory built at the end of the 18th century, was originally owned by the Framis family. Over the years it fell into disuse, becoming a monument to the industry of the area. Today, as a Museum of Contemporary Painting, it is an ideal place for the contemplation of art located in Poble Nou, now converted into the technological district of Barcelona and renamed 22@.

The building lot is situated between three streets: Pujades, Pamplona and Pere IV (one of the street that doesn’t respond to the grid of Cerda’s Plan because it’s old condition as an historic road). Consequently, the geometry does not maintain a constant alignment. It presents some doubts about the section in relation to the passage or the street-courtyard and in relation to the existing industrial building in Pamplona Street as well. That’s the reason why the building reacts and NUDQjHDR SGD NKC BNMRSQTBSHNM NM SGD TOODQ jNNQR
