Cet ArtBook, réalisé par 64 artistes internationaux, est un hommage au plus célèbre des traités d’érotisme. Le but est de vous livrer une vision artistique et originale de la fameuse partie du Kâmasûtra qui répertorie 64 pratiques amoureuses. Nous sommes d’avis que le plaisir (Kama en sanscrit) n’est non pas un péché, mais bien l’une des activités fondamentales pour atteindre le bonheur comme le disent les anciens textes Indiens. Pour mieux surprendre vos sens, les auteurs ont travaillé en totale liberté stylistique en choisissant les techniques qu’ils souhaitaient. Leur inspiration fut puisée aussi bien dans l’imagerie des positions que dans la poésie évocatrice de leurs noms. La sélection des artistes a été guidée par la volonté d’offrir une large variété de styles, proposant aussi bien des auteurs issus de la bande dessinée, que de l’illustration ou du street art. Bien qu’essayant de se rapprocher le plus possible de l’ouvrage original de Vâtsyâyana, ce livre ne prétend pas révéler l’intégralité du texte. Libre à vous d’abandonner toute pudeur et d’approfondir vos recherches sur le sujet !

This ArtBook, created by sixty-four international artists, is a tribute to history's most famous work of erotica. The aim is to deliver an original and artistic vision of sixty-four sexual positions described in the Kamasutra. We believe that pleasure (Kama in Sanskrit) is not a sin, but one of the most important activities to reach happiness, described by ancient Indian texts. Â To surprise your senses, each author has worked freely within his own style and technique. The drawings take inspiration from both the iconography of these sensual positions, and the evocative poetry of their names. Participating artists were chosen in an effort to bring the reader a wide variety of styles, from comics, to graphic illustration, to street art. Although the basis of this work follows the original Vatsyayana, it does not purport to disclose the full text. Feel free to abandon all reservation and throw yourself entirely into the experience!

In accordo con gli antichi testi indiani, l’idea che ci ha guidato è che il piacere (Kama in sanscrito), non sia un peccato, bensì una delle attività fondamentali per il raggiungimento della felicità. Per sorprendere i vostri sensi, gli autori hanno lavorato in totale libertà stilistica scegliendo di utilizzare la propria tecnica favorita. La loro ispirazione ha preso forma sia dall'iconografia delle posizioni, che dal potere evocativo dei loro nomi. La selezione degli artisti è stata guidata dal desiderio di offrire al lettore una ricca varietà formale, proponendo autori che lavorano nel campo del fumetto, dell'illustrazione e della street-art. Pur avvicinandosi il più possibile all'opera originale di Vatsyayana, questo libro, naturalmente, non pretende di spiegarne il testo integrale. Il suo fine ultimo è soltanto quello di stimolare la vostra fantasia, di darvi un’occasione per abbandonare ogni inutile pudore e indicarvi qualche traccia per approfondire le vostre personali ricerche sul tema !
