THE BOSS ANDY CLARKSON “Although we were gutted with the result we were very pleased with our performance. Please get behind our lads today and you never know what might happen “
I would like to welcome the players , management and officials from city of Liverpool for today's match . If we can have a match like last Saturday it promises to be very entertaining. We started very bright at their place last week and we were disappointed not to go into half time 0-2 up. The goal they got just before half time meant it was always going to be a big ask for my lads in the second half . Although we were gutted with the result we were very pleased with our performance. Please get behind our lads today and you never know what might happen . Enjoy the match

SQUIRES GATE ING 7 SALTHOUSE 10
Saturday 22nd December 2018// The Ambitek Stadium /NWCFL PREMIER DVIISION/Attendance: 87 Squires Gate picked up a fifth straight win moving to six games unbeaten on Saturday afternoon with a 2-0 win away at inform Irlam. Manager Andy Clarkson was down to the bare bones with injuries and suspensions hampering his squad availability. New signing Sam Staunton-Turner came into this side for his first start since signing from Kendal Town. He was joined by Jordan Salthouse who was recalled to the squad alongside Joey Mullen who joined him in midfield. Gate looked to take the game to their hosts who were one of the form teams in the league, unbeaten in ten games. It took Andy Clarkson's men just three minutes to take the lead in the game. Returning to the side, young midfielder Jordan Salthouse showed awareness beyond his years to loft the ball over the Irlam backline to find the run of James Boyd who showed great composure to control the ball and slot past the keeper. It took Gate just four minutes to double the lead this time through Dean Ing. He headed in James Boyd's corner at the near post for his seventh goal of the season. Ing had the chance to head his second of the game on 12 minutes from a lovely Adam Sumner freekick but his header was wide this time. Adam Sumner again sent in a good freekick on the half hour mark but the home keeper did well to collect. He set his side on the counter but they fired wide not testing Ben Fletcher.
Irlam came close to catching out Ben Fletcher with ten minutes of the first half left. Fletcher had to be alert when a corner from Irlam came under the crossbar he punched clear. Gate's number one then had to recover quickly to get down at his near post to save the second shot.
Half Time: Irlam 0-2 Squires Gate After dominating most of the first 45 minutes, Gate came out with a different game plan in the second half. The homeside looked to get a foothold back in the game and started to take the game to Gate more. A corner was cleared to the edge of the box by Gate where Marcus Perry fired well over the goal. Whilst Irlam didn't really threaten Gate in the second half they had half chances which Gate did well to deal with. A big chance came at the back post with thirteen minutes left but an Irlam attacker fired wide. The win for Gate moves Andy Clarkson's side up to joint sixth in the league and with two home games to come, it's a good chance for Clarkson's side to carry on their good form over the festive period

Wednesday 26th December 2018// The Brian Addison Stadium /NWCFL PREMIER DVIISION/Attendance:103 Squires Gate’s six game unbeaten run came to an end at the hands of Charnock Richard on Boxing Day. Gate started the game unchanged after Saturday’s win against Irlam and welcomed back striker Ric Seear from suspension onto the bench. Charnock opened the scoring after hitting Gate on the counter after 11 minutes. The visitors burst clear after clearing Gate’s corner and found striker Carl Grimshaw in the box who made no mistake to fire past Ben Fletcher.. Gate had the chance to level the game on 20 minutes but Riccardo Egidi’s ball into the box was cleared before James Boyd could meet it. Gate had calls for a penalty turned down after Grimshaw bundled over Ben Reader in the box after Gate’s corner was cleared. Carl Grimshaw has the chance to double his and Charnock’s tally for the afternoon when he was found in the box after Joe Noblet was allowed too much time to find a cross, but the big striker fired wide and over. in the box capitalising on a Ben Reader slip.
Half time: Squires Gate 0-1 Charnock Richard
Charnock added a second goal nearly straight from kick off. Winger Woods found Grimshaw in the box and again the striker made it look too easy firing past Ben Fletcher. Gate’s best effort came from distance as Sam StauntonTurner struck from outside the box but he couldn’t test the visiting keeper, who had a quiet day. A freekick just outside the box in a good position for Gate again couldn’t test the Charnock shot stopper who easily caught the shot. Charnock again hit Gate on the break two minutes from full time to secure the three points and a hatrick from Carl Grimshaw. He was again found

WHITCHURCH ALPORT
Saturday 29th December 2018// The Brian Addison Stadium /NWCFL PREMIER DVIISION/Attendance:87 Defender Dave Rossall came back into the side after recovering from injury whilst a return to the side for Ric Seear after his ban and the two Ryan's, Charnley and Riley into midfield Gate opened the scoring near enough straight from kick off as they looked to take the game to the visitors. Riccardo Egidi showed great strength to hold off his man inside the box before keeping his composure and firing past the keeper. Alport had the chance to equalise on the 18th minute but were denied by a fine save from Ben Fletcher, he reacted point blank to deny Alex Hughes inside the six yard box. They then looked to capitalise on sloppy Gate defending when they took aim first time in the 24th minute but fired over the bar. Gate through were more clinical down the other end and doubled their lead 25 minutes in. A lovely ball down the line by Seydou Bamba found the run of Ryan Charnley, he crossed into the box which looped over the keepers head to find Ric Seear arriving late at the back post to head in. Ben Reader came close when he was found in the box from James Boyd's corner, but he headed wide. Some clever passing from Sam Staunton - Turner and Ryan Charnley just before half time saw the latter turn his man but his pass looking for Ric Seear saw the forward flagged offside.
Half time: Squires Gate 2-0 Whitchurch Alport
The second half started as the first had finished with Gate still applying the pressure looking for a third goal. That opportunity came just a minute into the second half when Ric Seear was brought down in the box. The striker dusted himself down and stepped up to take the spot kick but was matched by keeper Parton who guessed the right way. After another good spell of possession from Gate, Young full back Dan Gray sent a teasing ball low into the six yard box but nobody in Blue could meet the cross. Riccardo Egidi came close to grabbing his second of the game 56 minutes in as Gate got closer to a third. Ryan Riley started off the move beating three men before finding the striker, he chipped the ball over the keeper but the ball scraped just the wrong side of the post. The goal eventually did come for Gate through James Boyd. He was found in the box when Ryan Charnley lobbed the ball over the Alport defence he took the shot first time on the volley to beat the keeper. Ryan Charnley then tried to get in in the act three minutes later when he took aim from 30 yards out. His long range effort cannoned back off the crossbar though, a sure goal of the season winner had it gone in. A fourth came for Gate in rather comical circumstances. James Boyd sent a crossfield ball looking for the run of Ryan Riley, the ball was intercepted by the left back who played it back to the keeper but the lads had too much on it and rolled past Parton into the empty net.

Blackpool Gazette's Andy Moore reports on Gate's spirited performance at City of Liverpool. A Gate side buoyed by six wins in their previous seven outings took the game to the pace-setters and opened the scoring in the 17th minute, when James Boyd and Ryan Riley linked up well to set up a typically clinical finish from Ric Seear. Riley could have added a second a minute later, when he raced through on goal but scuffed his shot wide. Gate doubled their lead in comical circumstances on 36 minutes, when a defender’s back-pass was completely missed by the keeper and trickled in for an own goal. The dangerous Chris Cairns kept Gate keeper Ben Fletcher busy but the skipper was equal to everything aimed goalwards. Gate looked like reaching the interval two up but goals either side of half-time changed the complexion of the game.
Just a minute before the interval, Cairns latched on to a through ball to give his side a lifeline. And they were level just two minutes into the second half, when Anthony Brown headed home a corner. Ryan Charnley was twice off-target with Gate free-kicks in dangerous positions and the visitors suffered a crushing blow when Jack Hazlehurst completed the comeback with City’s third 20 minutes from the end. Gate did have a last-gasp chance to equalise but Seear couldn’t quite connect with Dean Ing’s pass. Andy Clarkson’s side slip to ninth but have an early opportunity for revenge as the teams meet again in Marton on Saturday. Before then City of Liverpool, who have stretched their lead at the top to nine points, face Northwich Victoria at home on Tuesday.

Craig Robinson Craig brings with him a wealth of experience throughout the Non-League pyramid and the respect of everyone at the club; from the Tea Ladies to the Players, to the Supporters to the Volunteers and Directors. On his appointment Craig said “I wasn’t looking for a role in management at present as I still feel I have got at least 1 good season left in me on the pitch, but once I got approached I spoke to the squad and they have given me total support and along with the support of the Directors, I felt it was too good an opportunity to turn down. I’m honoured to be given the chance to manage this great club in my home City with so much potential and I’m looking forward to getting stuck into the job and doing my best”.
HISTORY OF THE PURPS Even though the roots of City of Liverpool FC can be traced back to initial chats, discussions and meetings that took place in 2008, the actual planning for the formation of the club began in November 2014, when Paul Manning, Peter Furmedge and Martin Jones detailed a timeline which focussed on the intention for City of Liverpool FC to be playing football in August 2016, which gave us a generous 21 months in order to achieve our dream. In early 2015, Stuart Fitzgerald was added to the Executive Committee, and by May 2015 we saw the launch of the club website and social media as interest in the club began to build. As Peter Furmedge was also the resident expert on the legalities of a supporter owned Football Club, he called our very first public meeting for 21st September 2015 in order to legally form the club as a Community Benefit Society, owned by its members. Approximately 50 people turned up and gave their support for us to form the club. Peter had been working alongside Supporters Direct, and confirmation had been received, we were now a supporter owned football club! Initially, we believed that we would start our footballing life with our own ground within the City boundaries, but for a variety of reasons, this proved difficult. As a new club, our application to join the NWCFL had to be in by 31st December 2015, so given the Christmas period, we had roughly 8 weeks to secure a ground share or shelve our plans for another 12 months. We emailed literally every club or facility that could host Step 6 football within a 35 mile radius and got few replies. None of the other local non-league clubs seemed to want to help us play football! A breakthrough came towards the end of November when Neil Prince put us in touch with Bootle FC. Calls were made and emails sent and literally within a matter of 10 days we had our ground share agreement to play at the Delta Taxis Stadium, Vesty Road, Bootle – what a relief – when no other team offered to help us, Bootle stepped in and took a gamble! With our application to join the NWCFL submitted, and having received confirmation that the league management committee were supporting our bid, we were soon able to secure the services of Simon Burton as 1st Team Manager. He had already advised Runcorn Town that he was resigning at the end of the season and within a matter of days, COLFC had appointed him and the club had just taken another massive step forward. On April 20th 2016, our 3 man delegation travelled down to Wembley to make our case for joining the Hallmark Security League as a newly formed club. We were confident and satisfied that we had made our case and given ourselves the best opportunity to succeed, if indeed there was a space in the league – which was by no means certain at this point. We were told to expect a decision towards the end of May. We heard back from the FA on May 21st via an email stating that we had been unsuccessful with our application and had instead been placed at Step 7 in the Liverpool County Premier League. However, a Hallmark Security League press release stated Northwich Manchester Villa had resigned from the league at the last minute,so this gave us some hope. There was a place available in the league and the FA confirmed we could appeal their original decision. The day of our appeal arrived on June 8th. Paul Manning and Peter Furmedge went down to Wembley again to state our case before an FA 3 man committee. We eventually received an email back later in the day with the outcome.......”The appeal is upheld”.......“COLFC will play at Step 6 in season 2016/17” “This decision is final and binding and cannot be appealed by any party”. We had the decision that we had worked so long and hard for and the relief was palpable. We had achieved our dream and could now plan for our first ever playing season as a Football Club. City of Liverpool FC was now up and running. Our first competitive match as a club saw us travel to Prestatyn Town on 9th July 2016. Out of an attendance of 271, approximately 150 Partisans made the journey to North Wales to watch Simon Burton and his backroom staff put the first ever City of Liverpool team on show. It was a great day that saw The Purps run out 3-2 winners, with Declan Gregson scoring the first ever competitive goal for the club. We were on our way - and what a journey it would turn out to be. The NWCFL fixtures pitted COLFC away against Chadderton on 6th August in our first ever league match. It took The Purps just 8 minutes to register our first ever league goal, and that honour went to fans favourite Allen Weston, who secured his place in the COLFC History Books. A brace from Captain Chris Dykes saw the club win 3-1 away and start the season off with 3 valuable points. A fantastic crowd of 411 poured into the DTS on 13th August to witness COLFC’s first ever home league game, in what is surely one of the most dramatic matches we have played. After leading 1-0 through an early Danny Dalton goal, our opponents Bacup Borough, who reached the playoffs in the previous season, scored twice in 7 minutes to lead 1-2 with only 3 minutes remaining. The crowd was extremely vocal in their support and in the last minute of the match, Billy Webb equalised for The Purps. The crowd went berserk, we had rescued a point. Hang on, not quite, buoyed by the fans reactions, The Purps went straight on another attack in injury time, and Mike Smith became a hero when he headed a winning goal just seconds after the equaliser. The crowd erupted. We had won 3-2 and in such dramatic fashion. The relationship between fans, players and club was cemented in that moment. Our debut season of 2016/17 was filled with huge excitement, twists and turns, laughter, community spirit, friendships, not to mention some excellent football. To finish our first ever season in Hallmark Security NWCFL Division One with the highest home attendance of 747, the highest average home attendance of 471, the most league goals scored (119), the joint least league goals conceded (45) and the the highest goal difference (+74) is truly remarkable, and is down to Manager Simon Burton, Assistant Manager Tom Spearritt and the coaches, Phil MacDiarmid and Tony Dunne for all their effort and hard work throughout the season, as well as all the players who have pulled on the Purple Jersey. However, for City of Liverpool to win The Reusch Cup, The Macron Cup, Promotion to the Premier Division via the Play Off Final, the Coral Non-League Team of the Year Award, not to mention Simon Burton winning Division One Manager of the Season, and Stephen Longrigg winning Division One Goalkeeper of the Season is just a truly amazing achievement! Especially for a brand new football club in their debut season! We now look forward with great anticipation to the challenge of Step 5 football, and to competing for more honours as we strive to build up our football club and provide the community with a team they can be proud to support.

SAM PEARSON
This Week we interviewed City Of Liverpool Fan Sam Pearson, we caught with him to found out how he felt after City Of Liverpool great start to season. We also found out what grounds he has enjoy or want to visit this season and when did start supporting City Of Liverpool also about football in a whole. What are your expectations for the the this season after your 4th place finished last season?
If you could sign 3 Premier League players on a free transfer, who would you sign and why?
From how strongly we finished last season I was hoping for us to keep as much of the squad together as possible as we had a really good core group of players, maybe add a bit of quality and then have a real push for promotion. 84 points in our first season at this level was fantastic and if we could better that total we would have a real chance of promotion. A decent cup run is always an added bonus too.
Ngolo Kante straight away. Every team needs an unselfish player who breaks up play and allows the attacking players to flourish. Allison in goal as you would never concede a goal. And Mo Salah. Dont even need to state the reasons for him everyone knows how good that lad is.
After a great start to the first half of the season, do you think you have what it takes to win the league this season?
What does other team don't know about City OF Liverpool?
I certainly hope so! Going 16 games unbeaten shows just how much quality we have and its put us in a great position going into the second half of the season. Congleton will push us all the way so it will be a real battle. But if we can maintain our early season form we have a real chance.
What grounds have u enjoy or want to visit this season and why?
I'm not sure their is too much that isnt known about City of Liverpool but i think one the misconceptions is that the Purple kit is a mixture of the Red of Liverpool and the Blue of Everton. When actually it is from the civic colour of the city, which is Purple.
Silsden has a really great clubhouse we had a great day out there in the Macron Cup in our first season. Whitchurch Alport is another great place to visit. I was delighted they got promoted so we could visit there again, really friendly people. And I'm not just saying it because its your programme, but the last time i was up here had a really good day. Everyone was very friendly and chatty from the bar staff to the volunteers. It made the visit a really good day.
Have you been to Squires Gate before? If so, what was the score?
Which players do you think will be the biggest threat to gate?
If you were manager of a 5 a side team and had to 2 City of Liverpool players and 3 BPL legends. Who would be in your side and why?
Well Craig Cairns needs no introduction to the gate fans. He has been a thorn in your side for the two cup games this season bagging 4 goals. He runs the line well, has a real eye for goal, is quick and strong. Defensively our centre back pairing of Dalton and Brown are two of the best at this level. Hazlehurst is a star in the making. One of those players that gets the crowd excited everytime he is on the ball.
What has been the most memorable moment and game for you within your time watching City Of Liverpool? We have been quite lucky in our first few seasons that there are a number of moments you could choose. Ask 10 different Purps you may get 10 different answers. Beating Barnoldswick with 9 men on penalties in the Macron Cup Final is certainly up there but for me winning the Play Off Final against Litherland Remyca was special. It was our first season, it was away at their ground and about 1000 Purps showed up. It was the culmination of a season of hard work and effort and it was a great feeling when the full time whistle went.
How long has you been a fan of City OF Liverpool and what has been best moment you have seen there over your time? I attended the first home league game against Bacup Borough. I had read quite abit about this new club forming and the ethos behind the club. It was to be a team owned by the fans, which sought to help the local community. It felt like something I wanted to be a part of and there was a real buzz at that game, then they score 2 injury time goals to win 3-2 that was it I was hooked. Been a Purp ever since.
Which players will be key for you this season? We are blessed to have a number of individuals who have a real quality at this level and could even play in the Evo-Stick. Craig Cairns goals record at this level speaks for itself but I think our key is that we have a quality squad. Last season we had a really good starting 11 but not too much coming off the bench. If you ask 10 Purps for their preferred starting 11 this season you will get 10 different starting 11's. I think all credit for this goes to Craig Robinson, the manager and the club directors for getting so many quality players together.
My first visit was this season in the FA Cup Qualifying which we won 5-1. As good as we played that day I dont think Gate where at their best and we caught them on an off day and ultimately it showed in the scoreline.
Peter Schmeichel in goal. No one is putting it past him in a 5-a-side goal! Alan Shearer up top for the goals and Sami Hyypia playing at the back because he was my favourite player growing up as a kid. From the Purps I'd take Kevin Mcellin in midfield as nothing is getting past him and Jack Hazlehurst for his quick feet and ability to take on 4 or 5 players.
Have you ever been to Wembley before? And What would be your ideal scenario there? I went for the first time last May for Non League Finals day to watch the FA Vase and the FA Trophy. Brilliant day out and what an amazing stadium, I can see why fans get so excited to see their team play there. The dream scenario would be to watch City of Liverpool play there and win the Conference playoff to become a Football League team. Are you looking forward to the second half othe second and what do you expected to see from your team and where do you want City OF Liverpool to finished? 1st. I think with how good we have played the first half of the season that should be the target. We have a great chance to win the Macron Cup aswell. A League and Cup Double wouldnt be a bad end to the season.
With only two promotion spot, which two team do think have what it takes to grain promotion to go into the Evostick and why? I think the two stand out teams so far have been ourselves and Congleton. Congleton have built a good squad and challenging us for the league. If they maintain their form they have a shot.
Finally Prediction for today's game? I think it will be closer than the last visit. I will go for a 3-2 Purps win.

Squires Gate's FA Cup journey ended at the hands of fellow Hallmark Security Premier Division side City of Liverpool. After a superb win against Droylsden on Tuesday night, confidence within the squad was high coming into this game. The same though could be said for the visitors City of Liverpool. Craig Robinson's side came into the game unbeaten in league and cup after beating Glossop North End on Tuesday night in extra time. The visitors started the game very brightly knocking the ball around with confidence, Craig Cairns had two chances in the opening ten minutes but first Ben Fletcher saved well before the second was fired over by the striker. It didn't take long for Craig Cairns to find the back of the net. The former Runcorn Town hitman who already had three goals for the season, pounced after a weak header backwards but Ben Fletcher in trouble, Cairns tapping in from the rebound. Cairns scored his second of the game two minutes later near enough straight from kickoff. The Purps won back the ball and played around Gate before the striker was on the end of the cross to steer it past Fletcher. The visitors had the ball in the net twice more but both were flagged for offside as Gate couldn't cope with the movement of the Purps attack. Gate went close from a freekick in the 32nd minute but a fine save denied Ryan Charnley. He curled his freekick around the wall but the keeper saved well before Jordan Salthouse fired over the rebound. COLFC added a third goal as the half came to an end. A cross from deep from COLFC defender Luke Denson took a nasty bounce over Ben Fletcher who came to collect but missed the ball allowing Craig Cairns to score his third of the game.
Half time: Squires Gate 0-3 City of Liverpool It didn't take the visitors long to add another goal with Cairns again adding to his goals. A lovely through ball cuts Gate's defence apart to find the run of Cairns who made no mistake firing past Fletcher. Dean Ing came close to opening the scoring after just coming onto the pitch but the keeper came and collected Matty Kay's cross before Ing. The visitors added their fifth of the game from the penalty spot. Again Gate made it very easy and John Mcgrath fired in from the spot. Gate themselves then had a soft looking penalty but Ryan Charnley fired over from the spot. The homeside grabbed a goal back in the 74th minute when Dean Ing headed in Andrew Richards cross to get a goal back.

In a new feature we team up with the Non-league paper editor Matt Badcock who is going a little bit off a column each week to place into our programme so all you non-league fan can found out at happen all across the non-league pyramid By Hugo Varley So another festive season has flown by, once again serving up an absolute feast of Non-League football for us to gorge upon! As is annual tradition, football fans from up and down the country worked off their Christmas lunch by marching to Boxing Day games, while a week later, supporters braved hangovers from the previous night’s antics to back their teams on New Years’ Day. A look at the attendance statistics during these two days demonstrates what an important time of year the Christmas period is for football fans and clubs alike. For example, on Boxing Day well over 1,500 Scarborough fans crammed into the Flamingo Land Stadium to watch their side’s top of the table clash with South Shields, while a sold out crowd toasted Dulwich Hamlet’s winning return to Champion Hill. Records were also smashed on New Year’s Day with Altrincham recording their highest league attendance since 1970 when Stockport came to visit Moss Lane and well over 2,000 Kettering fans danced around in absolute ecstasy as Rhys Hoenes nodded home a stoppage time winner to give the Poppies an injury time victory over AFC Rushden & Diamonds. The money gained from these increased gate revenues is absolutely vital for clubs across the Non-League pyramid, especially as we are now into the time of the year when the fixture list of often decimated by the handy work of the British weather. These Christmas fixtures also provide a special time for fans, whether it involves being able to return to where you grew up to watch your boyhood team or briefly escaping the monotony of sharing small talk with distant relatives to enjoy some football on the terraces. Nevertheless, it was interesting to note that a few clubs opted to alter their festive schedule this year, with a number of Bostik league clubs opting to reduce their fixture congestion by taking up the league’s offer to not play on Boxing Day. Ultimately, this decision is perfectly understandable, even if it may have disappointed a few fans. While we all adore the festive football schedule, we must remember that it puts an immense strain on both players and volunteers at clubs, who often have to forgo the Christmas celebrations that we take for granted in order to ensure that matches are fulfilled. Whether you enjoyed the Christmas period on the terraces or with your feet up on the sofa we hope that is was an enjoyable one! Roll on 2019 and a fascinating second half to the season!
AROUND THE LEAGUE Fine wins in the Buildbase FA Vase 4th Round for Irlam and Northwich Victoria were the highlights from the first weekend fixtures in 2019. Northwich Victoria made a storming start to their game up in the North East against Newcastle Benfield, going three up inside 36 minutes through goals from Joel Brownhill, Harvey Whyte and Matthew Clarke. A second half comeback from the home side saw them reduce the arrears to 3-2, but Vics held on to book a place in the last 16. In contrast, Irlam's 4-0 win over Cadbury Athletic was considerably more comfortable, with two goals from Marcus Perry in the opening 16 minutes setting them on the road to victory. Captain Charlie Doyle added a third on the stroke of half time, and Jordan Buckley rounded off the win with a fourth midway through the second half. In the Premier Division, it was a good afternoon for league leaders City of Liverpool whose 3-2 win over Squires Gate coupled with Congleton Town's 3-2 defeat at 1874 Northwich means the Purps lead at the top is now nine points. The league leaders were actually two goals down at one stage, but Craig Cairns, Anthony Brown and Jack Hazlehurst were on target to ensure the three points remained on Merseyside. Meanwhile, it was an equally lively affair at St Luke's Barton Stadium, with Scott McGowan and Taylor Kennerley building an early two goal for 1874 Northwich before a Dean Warburton penalty and a Saul Henderson strike brought Congleton Town back on level terms. But Callum Gardner struck the winner for 1874 Northwich to move them into 11th place. Bootle are now clear in thrid place, two points behind Congleton Town, after goals from Lee Hughes and Connor Millington earned them a 2-0 win at Runcorn Town. Burscough's good run of form continued with a 4-1 win at West Didsbury & Chorlton, with Prince Ekpolo, Connor Finlayson, Jordan Lorde and Chad Whyte all on target. The Linnets are now in 5th place, one place above Barnoldswick Town, who lost 4-1 at home to Hanley Town, a result that moved Hanley level on points with West Didsbury & Chorlton, with West only staying above the drop zone on goal difference. Lee Wilshaw, James Lindop, Joshua Thorpe and Martin Stanyer scored for Hanley, and there was also a 4-1 scoreline at Brocstedes Park where Ashton Athletic overcame Winsford United with goals from Adam Gilchrist, Aaron Cringle, Matthew Reid and Marcus Cusani. Elsewhere, Jacob Higham's 60th minute strike was decisive in Charnock Richard's 2-1 win over Abbey Hey, and Whitchurch Alport's 2-1 win at Silsden was achieved through goals from Alex Hughes and Leon Ashman. First Division North is still headed by Longridge Town, who had Ryan McKenna and Thomas Ince on target in the 2-1 win at Shelley. The victory means are now 12 clear of Avro in second place, who won 3-0 at Holker Old Boys thanks to two goals from Jack Turnbull and one from Joseph Rathbone. A last gasp goal from Cory Knight means third placed Prestwich Heys are three points ahead of Carlisle City after a 1-0 win, and it was the same score at the Marine Travel Arena with Rhys Hardacre's goal earning AFC Liverpool the three points against Nelson. Daley Woods was the man of the match for Ashton Town with a hat trick in their 4-2 win at home to Steeton, and Kieron O'Connor goal in the 8th minute saw Garstang through to a 1-0 home win over Bacup Borough. Chadderton moved further away from the bottom end of the table with a 4-0 win over AFC Darwen, Thomas Ward's late winner delivered a 2-1 victory for Cleator Moor Celtic over St Helens Town, and Daisy Hill remain in the relegation zone after Ben Duffield's early goal earned AFC Blackpool the points with a 1-0 win at New Sirs. he chase at the top of the First Division South continues to fascinate, with Rylands, Wythenshawe Amateurs and Abbey Hulton United all level at the top on 50 points. Rylands top the table on goal difference, with Brad Williams scoring four in their 6-0 win over Stone Dominoes, while there were dramatic finishes in the games involving their nearest rivals. Alan Dolan's stoppage time equalsier rescued a point for Wythenshawe Amateurs in a 2-2 draw at Sandbach United, while Abbey Hulton United's hopes of collecting all three points were dashed in by joseph Nield of Cheadle Town, whose equaliser in the 5th minute of stoppage time meant the game ended 1-1. Wythenshawe Town stay in fourth place despite going down 2-0 at home to Eccleshall, and Stone Old Alleynians are now just a point behind in 5th place, after their 7-0 win over New Mills. Jake Vernon and Jack Tomlinson both scored twice for Stone who remain level on points with Vauxhall Motors, for whom Thomas Mitchell and Karl Noon both bagged doubles in the 5-0 win over Alsager Town. Elsewhere, Thomas Keyworth's goal clinched a welcome 2-1 away win for Maine Road at St Martins, Ryan Malone's goal sealed a 2-1 win for Barnton over Stockport Town, and a stoppage time equaliser from Seth Ellis of Ellesmere Rangers meant they travelled home with a 1-1 draw from Cammell Laird 1907, although they remain in the relegation zone.
