DEAR BRETHREN,
Several years ago, the Supreme Council of the Scottish Rite set to work to help revitalize Freemasonry and its elements renewed pride among Masons and helped lodges around the world bring in new men of character. It was a truly Masonic act in that, as Scottish Rite Masons, we sought to help all Brethren, and not simply our corner of Freemasonry. Now the time has come to bring this same energy and creativity to work for the Scottish Rite, Northern Masonic Jurisdiction. It is with great pleasure that I introduce our newest campaign, “Journey On.” The campaign will invite all Master Masons to continue answering the call to travel deeper into the Craft they love and explore the teachings they crave. What’s more, “Journey On” is meant to inspire Freemasons to persevere as men of integrity especially in challenging times. In the coming pages, you will learn more about the inspiration behind “Journey On,” as well as see the many tools we have created for your use in your Valleys. We hope this campaign will invoke pride in your commitment to the Craft and the Scottish Rite, and serve as a reminder that the road to self-improvement is never quite complete. Today, Masons continue the path of the ancient traveling men, our path to the East, marked by the degrees of our Craft. Entered Apprentice. Fellowcraft. Master Mason. At each step, more secrets are revealed; more lessons learned. Skills are gained. For some, even as a Master Mason the heart of the traveler is not yet still. The road still calls.
