Anthony Boyce, BSc (Hons) Wildlife and Conservation Management
Anthony chose to study Wildlife and Conservation as it fitted with several of his interests, and as he was working on an estate, he wanted to learn more about the environment that surrounds us.
"I chose SRUC as they have the expertise and knowledge, they had the exact course I was looking for, and with it being fairly local, things like travelling wasn’t an added issue I am a disabled student, and at the time I was also a single parent, so it was also quick enough to get home if there were any issues with childcare "
"I really enjoy the Conservation Site Management module because it consolidates the skills and the knowledge that you have gained and puts them to use by producing a Management Plan for a site Studying this course allowed me to take part in an archaeological dig at Dundonald Castle, and a 2-day field study trip in the highlands, looking at conservation measures in action ”
"I have overcome a couple of obstacles during my time with SRUC Training myself to study again after a long time away from books was a bit hard to get used to . The support I receive from Student Support has been invaluable in helping me to navigate being a student I have become a Student Ambassador to help with open days and events and it’s something I should have done in my first year!"
"The facilities at SRUC are great; The library is easy to get to and easy to navigate The café food is lovely! There’s ample parking and easy transport links to campus as well
"When I complete my course, I’d like to go and do further studying while I work, and I would ideally like to work in a marine or freshwater field."
