Archie Curran, NC Horticulture
Archie describes his two and a half years at the Elmwood as “a good experience at a supportive campus.” Archie first joined Elmwood straight from school when he started on the Introduction to Horticulture course before progressing on to the SVQ Production Horticulture Archie didn’t know what exactly he wanted to do for a future career, he just knew it had to involve plants and gardening “I’ve enjoyed exploring all the different aspects of the courses My journey has been interesting and has helped me to decide what area of horticulture to go into . ”
During his time at Elmwood, Archie has been a resident in the campus’ halls of residence, a short walk from the main building “I enjoy staying in the halls There is a real community feel It’s been great meeting different students from different courses ”
“Elmwood has prepared me well for the world of work and I hope to run my own landscaping business If anyone is considering applying for a horticulture course at SRUC, I would say “Do it, you’ll enjoy it ”
