GARDEN DESIGN

At SRUC we firmly believe that as well as having great design skills and creativity, a good garden designer must have an in-depth horticultural knowledge and good practical skills . These are combined with working with real clients and real-life projects which will help to equip you for life as a garden designer

Students throughout all years of the courses design a variety of gardens and open spaces for private clients and community groups The creation and management of successful green space is becoming ever more important as more and more of us live in cities and we are faced with increasing environmental pressure .

SRUC has great facilities for designers We have a Design Studio fully equipped with drawing boards as we believe that students should always be able to draw by hand We also have computer rooms fully equipped with programs such as AutoCAD and Sketch Up which can give you the skills to work with other professionals in the industry
