Darren Moore, BSc (Hons) Garden and Greenspace Design
After 20 years in landscape construction, Darren realised that it was now or never to take the steps towards his ultimate goal of becoming a landscape architect and develop his creativity skills:
"I chose SRUC because of its excellent reputation in the horticulture and garden design industry as well as their links with Edinburgh Royal Botanic Gardens My highlights have been the trip to Cologne, gaining new digital media skills, and the friendships that I have built with my classmates
"My favourite module was International Study, we got to visit Cologne and had the opportunity to research and reinterpret our own designs on a real public greenspace project in the city I would love to continue my studies after fourth year to Masters level and/or enter the workplace at a landscape architecture company
And what advice would Darren pass on to other students? "As I approach 40, just remember that it’s never too late! Oh and… time management, time management, time management! It has been a struggle at times to manage study, work and our busy toddler at home, but that is becoming easier as times goes on and will be worth it in the end "
