SSE MIS Support Service Ensuring you get the best from your Management Information System


Introduction SSE MIS Support is just one of the services provided by Support Services for Education (SSE), a traded unit within Somerset County Council. As an organisation we offer a wide variety of services and training to all education providers such as Schools, Academies, Further Education Colleges and Universities. The SSE MIS Support Service are a dedicated team that has successfully delivered services into Somerset schools for more than twenty-five years, and in more recent years to schools in Wiltshire and North Somerset too. As a fully traded team within Support Services for Education – a non-for-profit organisation within Somerset County Council – we have a proven track record of delivering excellent service quality and value for money.


About Us SSE MIS Support Service are an Accredited Partner for Arbor, Bromcom and ESS SIMS, meaning that we are not only able to make the most of the system capabilities available but also represent the best interests of schools by tailoring those capabilities to match actual needs and local context. We are delighted that we can offer schools both in and out of Somerset, a local service, with experts at the end of the telephone who understand your school and have strong existing relationships, ready to talk through and support you with any MIS issues. Our primary focus is to maintain service and system integrity, by enabling our customers to effectively utilise the MIS on a daily basis, maximising ease and efficiency and removing as much burden as possible for Schools. We ensure that all our customers satisfy statutory data obligations; making best use of the system functionality whilst continuing to support school’s effectiveness and improvement as well as safeguarding and welfare. To achieve this, we deploy our team of local experts to guide you to resolutions, thus reducing the requirement to navigate self-support tools.


Our Service Offering The SSE MIS Support team help schools to develop, equip and train, both system and staff capabilities ensuring they apply effective data analysis which proactively supports all school improvements. This is designed to maximise the positive impact of effective information management and directly correlates to feedback from Ofsted and School Improvement Officers. We realise the importance of integration into the school’s own plans, especially ensuring it is in line with staff capabilities and budget affordability, we pride ourselves on achieving this by working closely with schools. The SSE MIS Support Team also understand that moving to a new service provider is a big change for staff, so during the transition we ensure that service continuity and stability is of high priority throughout.


Packages Available

The MIS Support Package Our package offers complete and interactive support to maintain functionality for all areas within Arbor, Bromcom and SIMS at competitive rates. The package provides; • Year-round Helpdesk (excl. Christmas Holidays) • Critical response time; within 1 hour. • Standard response time; within 8 hours. • Priority functionality support during Ofsted visits • A friendly team of experts ready to deliver advice and support • Management of Software faults and updates guidance • Referral for third line support, with progress updates • Integration with Microsoft Office Products • Facilitation of user groups/ peer support networks


Training The MIS Support Service are pleased to offer a wide range of webinars, group training sessions and bespoke sessions throughout the year. Our programme focusses around three distinct levels of depth and are designed to meet every level of need within a School; REFRESH - webinar style sessions for updating knowledge, great for CPD; REVIEW - in depth scheduled training sessions, for introduction to a specific area, or useful for increasing effectiveness; and RESET - on demand, bespoke single setting training using your own schools’ data.
