Pre-K Sports Sampler
Sports include: tot soccer, tot floor hockey, tot basketball and tot t-ball. Basic ground rules are set for the children and parents so that everyone enjoys their time while participating using age appropriate safety equipment. Participants will learn to listen, follow directions, take turns, form lines and cooperate.

Intro to Lacrosse Clinic
Calling all 5th-8th graders who are interested in learning about the sport of Lacrosse! 3- day clinic will teach the basics of the game of Lacrosse. No Experience necessary. Equipment provided. Parents/Guardians are asked to equip children with a snack and plenty of water prior to dropping them off each day. Please also ensure children are picked up in a timely fashion.

Tennis Classes
Learn the game of tennis, develop skills, get exercise, have fun! We will cover forehand, backhand, volleys, serves, overheads, games, and team competition. Feeding drills and live ball play will help develop rallying and decision- making skills and are tailored to all ability levels.

All docks except 3.1 & 5.1 $44.75 1 lineal foot/whichever is longer; boat or dock
WINTER STORAGE: OCTOBER-MARCH, includes haul out, power wash, set on owner’s stand/cradle, storage and spring launch.
Summer dock holders: $1.80/square foot
Winter Storage only: $2.15/square foot
Boats stored at Water’s Edge Marina must be on jack stands, cradles or trailer. We no longer block boats.

Island Walkers
Aerobic Walking to Music! This is group walking in the activity room at Centennial Farm. Join us for 3 or 4 miles each weekday. You will learn 4 basic steps with a warm-up, cool down and stretches to finish. Music makes this a fun way to get aerobic walking in before your day starts. Wear comfortable clothes, walking shoes, and bring water. Please come 5 minutes early to register your first day, which is free! Dates may be scheduled off and participants will be notified in advance by flyer, email and/or phone call.

Yoga
Get into the Flow!
Discover the restorative and physical benefits of YOGA. This zero intimidation yoga series allows you to achieve the strength, balance and stress relief of yoga at your own pace. Modifications will be provided for those poses you can’t quite do just yet… so don’t sweat! Encouragement to go a little further for more advanced students. This is your practice and will be centered around what feels right for your body. Required: yoga mat.
Recommended but not required: water bottle, 2 yoga blocks, a yoga strap and small (throw) blanket.

Adult Indoor Rowing Classes

Wayne County Office of Nutrition offers home delivered meals.
Call 1-800-851-1454 to apply for this program. Holiday meals may also be provided by completing the paperwork given to you by our driver.
The Grosse Ile Recreation Department is pleased to provide transportation service for residents who are senior citizens, low income or disabled. This “essential errands” service is for those who do not own a vehicle or are unable to drive due to medical reasons.
Transportation is available Monday through Friday 1:00-4:30 PM. Reservations must be made at least 24 hours in advance, with 2 to 4 days preferable.

Grosse Ile Senior Citizen Club
This organized club meets the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month throughout the year at the Centennial Farm Activity Room. The Club is a social club for men and women ages 55 and up living on Grosse Ile. Activities include games, trivia, show and tell, and bingo.

Water’s Edge Community Pool Complex has two pools. The large pool has 5 lanes and varies in depth from 3 feet to 5.5 feet. The small pool is approximately 800 square feet and is 2-3 feet deep. Both pools are heated but are refreshing on hot Summer days! We offer a variety of swim lessons, fitness classes, lap swim, open swim and pool rentals. Concessions for sale during open swim hours.

PRE-SCHOOL 1 - Beginners
AGES: 3-5, without parental assistance
The primary focus is comfort and independence in the water through multiple fun activities. Parents must be present but will not interact in class.
AQUATIC SKILLS – LEVEL 2
AGES: 5 & Up, the student will move towards solidifying fundamental water skills to become a competent swimmer. To move beyond Level 2, the student will make progress on front and back and will independently retrieve submerged items.

PRE-SCHOOL 2 - Advanced Beginners
AGES: 3-5, the primary focus is to gain comfort in the water while introducing and practicing fundamental swimming skills. This course is a continuation of Pre-school 1.

INTRODUCTION TO WATER SKILLS
AQUATIC SKILLS – LEVEL 1
AGES: 5 & Up, the student will continue to gain comfort in the water and will learn water safety. The goal of Level 1 is independence– the ability to function in the water with minimal assistance. To move beyond Level 1, the student must be able to float on his/ her front and back.

STROKE DEVELOPMENT – LEVEL 4
AGES: 6 & Up, the objective is to build confidence in the strokes learned in previous levels and to improve other aquatic skills. By the end of Level 4, the student will have been introduced to all strokes and will work toward mastery of front and back crawl. To move beyond Level 4, student must demonstrate competence in butterfly, breaststroke, side-stroke and elementary back crawl.

Water’s Edge is located on fifty-five acres at the intersection of Bellevue and West River Roads. This unique community owned facility overlooks the Detroit River and is home to a regulation nine-hole course, nine-hole FootGolf course, driving range, putting and chipping green. The golf course is maintained with great care for seven days of enjoyment! We are now forming our golf leagues, if you are interested please give us a call. 734-675-2364. RECREATION BUILDING AT CENTENNIAL FARM:
Rental Fees are for 5 hours (including 1 hour of set-up & 1 hour of clean up), $25 for each additional hour and must be pre-arranged. The security deposit is due at the time of rental and must be in the form of a check or cash. All other rental fees must be paid in full 30 days prior to the rental date. The security deposit is not included as part of the rental fees. The Security Deposit is non-refundable if a cancellation is made less than 30 days prior to the event. Effective May 1, 2022

Pool Rentals
Rental applications must be submitted 14 days in advance of the rental to secure reser vation (first come, first served). The pool is available for rentals on Saturday or Sunday mornings from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. and Monday through Sunday from 7-9 Pm. Available rental hours are subject to programming schedule. Rentals require one adult for every 10 children. All pool rules are in effect during rentals.
