from the editor...

November is no ordinary month. It marks what is arguably India’s favourite festival – Diwali. With the heavy smoke of crackers and sparklers permeating the air, the excitement of wearing new clothes and watching star-studded programmes on the telly is simply irresistible. For movie buffs, very few things come close to the joy of heading to

!

week and other biggies getting pushed past D-day. Still, excitemement does run high across the four industries. Southscope wishes you a very safe, happy and crackling Diwali. Enjoy!

Sreekar Prasad is a busy man – as he’s always been. The 7-time National Award-winning editor has worked on many successful ventures, but there’s a special enthusiasm in his voice, as he speaks to Pavithra Srinivasan about a project obviously close to his heart: Thuppakki. Over to the man himself!

In a mainstream movie, though, an editor has to do quite some re-shaping when it comes to songs and action sequences, right?

people are coming to see a star dance, then they would rather enjoy the movement fully. Whatever good moments there are, we’ve allowed them to be clearly established in this movie. We’ve not allowed special effects to destroy it. We’ve always made sure each scene gets the maximum mileage.
