INTRODUCTION The international summer school is open to highly motivated medical students from all over the world. If you looking for a special experience & unique opportunity to experience a side of medicine that is highly accessible & developed in Egypt, the summer school is your perfect match! Tropical Medicine is one of the most outstanding medical fields in Egypt. It is concerned with Egypt’s most widespread endemic diseases, especially those affecting the GIT. The course aims to introduce this branch to the international students with the help of highly experienced professors and staff members. A variety of interactive teaching techniques for knowledge, skills and attitude will be used. TELL ME MORE…!!?? The program is made up of 5 modules: • Parasitology • Tropical Medicine • Ophthalmology • Diagnostic Skills (Endoscopy & ultrasonography) • Pulmonary Medicine &tuberculosis.
Each module is taught for a number days in the program, therefore participants will have the chance to overview this field of medicine from different sides. Participants will attend Theoretical lectures, lab training, and bedside clinical rounds. They can also examine cases in outpatient clinic, Endoscopy & ultrasonography units. WHEN & WHERE??!! When:

Training consists of: • • Examination (Bedside Clinical Round): Hands-on examination of patients who are very cooperative during their stay in the inpatients’ wards. Parasites in ACTION! The course will offer students an access to the Parasitology department’s lab once per week. It’s an amazing opportunity where they will be able to watch microscopic slides of parasites causing the diseases encountered during the clinical round as well as some real specimen jars! In addition, professors of the Parasitology department will be tailoring a special 2-lecture course for the students discussing the major endemic tropical parasites; namely Schistosomiasis, Amoebiasis, Hydatidosis & more. This will offer students an opportunity to study the morphology, life cycle & other essential information about the parasites involved.

Daily from 09:00 am – 01:30 pm (except Thursday; from 09:00 am – 11.30 am) *Friday & Saturday (weekends are off) *The Scientific program is 2 weeks in duration.
